Fault finding - Interpretation of faults

NOTESConditions for applying the fault finding procedure to a stored fault:
The fault is declared present after:
–the + after ignition feed is activated,
–the multimedia system has been switched on using the on/off button.
–move all the buttons on the LPN* radio navigation front panel,
–wait for 2 minutes.
Check the conformity of the LPN* radio navigation front panel buttons by viewing the following statuses:
–ET009 CD eject button,
–ET010 "Radio preselection button 1",
–ET011 "Radio preselection button 2",
–ET012 "Radio preselection button 3",
–ET013 "Radio preselection button 4",
–ET014 "Radio preselection button 5",
–ET015 "Radio preselection button 6",
–ET018 "Audio button",
–ET036 "Wheel press on/off",
–ET037 "Navigation button",
–ET038 "‘MAP’ button",
–ET039 "‘TEL’ button",
–ET040 "‘SET’ button",
–ET041 "‘BACK’ button",
–ET042 "Repeat button",
–ET043 "Wheel left turn",
–ET044 "Wheel right turn".
If one of the statuses is PRESSED, move the corresponding button to change the status to RELEASED.
If the fault is still present, contact the Techline.
AFTER REPAIRCarry out another fault finding check on the system.
Clear the stored faults.
Deal with any other faults.

ALP 11 Satellite control
NOTESOnly check the customer complaint after performing a full check with the diagnostic
tool.
Ensure there are no present or stored faults.
There is no action when one of the radio satellite control buttons is pressed.
Refer to the interpretation of the button statuses by running fault finding on the multimedia network interface unit
(see 86D, Multimedia network interface unit).

ALP 12 Front panel button fault
NOTESOnly check the customer complaint after performing a full check with the diagnostic
tool.
Ensure there are no present or stored faults.
Use the wiring diagrams Technical Note for Scénic II ph2, Espace IV ph2,
Trafic II ph2 or Kangoo 2.
Also check for a + 12 V battery feed on connection BP26 (Kangoo 2), BP26 (Trafic II ph2), BCP4 (Espace IV
ph2) or BCP3 (Scénic II ph2) and an earth on connection MT (Kangoo 2), MT (Trafic II ph2 and Scénic II ph2)
or MV (Espace IV ph2) on the black 8-track connector of component 261.
If the connection is faulty and there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Electrical wiring repair,
Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring. Otherwise replace the wiring.
Check that the statuses of the front panel buttons are consistent during use (see Conformity check).
Do all the front panel buttons operate correctly?
NO YES
Check that no buttons are jammed.
If a button remains jammed, contact the Techline.
End of fault finding.
If the fault is still present, contact the Techline.

ALP 13 No navigation voice messages
NOTESOnly check the customer complaint after performing a full check with the diagnostic
tool.
Ensure there are no present or stored faults.
Check that the sound from the radio is coming
through the front speakers.
Is the sound coming from the speakers?
YES
Check the voice guidance volume. To adjust it, press
the "REPEAT" button during a guidance procedure,
then the "+" or "-" buttons. The volume value is
displayed on the screen: "NAV VOL = X".
Is the "Voice messages" option active?
YES
Check that the volume is correctly set.
In the AUDIO settings menu (Audio settings button). Select the "volumes" then "NAV" menus and press the
+ button on the satellite several times to obtain at least volume 13.
Do your hear the: "+ loud" message?
YES
The fault is resolved
Customer misunderstanding.
NOApply ALP 10 No radio and/or CD sound.
NOActivate the option.
NO
AFTER REPAIRCarry out a complete check with the diagnostic tool.
