The other booklets in the vehicle wall et contain further information, which
you should be aware of for your own safety and for the s afety of your passen-
gers.
Ensure that the onboard documentation is kept in the vehicle at all times.
This is especially important when lending or selling t he vehicle to another
person.

Rear Seat EntertainmentInstructions for handlingIntroductionThe Rear Seat Entertainment offers numerous ways of enter-
taining back seat passengers.The RSE allows you to connect external devices such a s DivX players, iPod
vídeo®, videogame consoles, etc., as well as to lis ten to music, watch films
and play videogames. The RSE only works when the igni tion is switched on.
The ceiling screen is compatible with the CVBS v ideo input with the following
formats: PAL, SECAM or NTSC.

4This system has the following components:
– Triple RCA connector (audio and video) ⇒page 3, fig. 1 .
– Screen on ceiling ⇒page 3, fig. 2 .

Do not expose the Rear Seat Entertainment to liquids and humidity .
Otherwise, this may cause a short-circ uit and the resultant risk of fire.
Inserting a portable player*This connector may be used only as an audio input (red and white connec-
tors) or audio and video connector (red, white and yellow connectors).
Depending on the use, a cable adaptor with 2 or 3 RCA connections will be
necessary. It is essential to use the correct RCA cab le for the device (the RCA
cable is usually provided with the portable devic e).The use of cables not compatible with your portable play
er may result in poor
quality pictures or sound.
Connect the portable audio playback device (MP3, Walkman, CD, etc.) or
audio and video (iPod video, portable DVD player, DivX player, etc.) in the
connector AUX RSE, making sure that th e pins fit perfectly. Controlling the
folders, songs, scenes, etc. is done from the conne cted portable device. The
functions available are those on the device connecte d.
To listen to the portable audio device through the vehicle loud speakers,
press the key on the radio or navigator and select the relevant auxil-
iary source. Check that there are no multimedia devices or any other type of
audio cable connected to the MEDIA- IN connector of the front armrest
(depending on version). See radio or navigator m anual.
Remember that if you change temporarily to a differ ent source without stop-
ping the play on the portable device, when you go back to the auxiliary
source, it will not continue to play at the point where y ou left off.
Note
The portable device is not supplied with the vehicle. A portable device is
understood to mean an electronic apparatus with a c ompatible audio and/or
video output (CVBS video signal).

⇒ page 4 before switching on the screen. If no signal is received, the screen
will go off after five minutes.
To use this screen, the vehicle contact signal is re quired. To switch it on, press
button ⇒fig. 4 .
To switch off the device, use the same button or close t he box on the ceiling.
The ceiling screen plays the videos from the port able device. Therefore, to
control the player (pause, stop, RW, FF, etc) and the volume, use the portable
device.
In addition, if you are listening to the audio played by th e portable device
through the vehicle loudspeakers, the volume can also be controlled on the
car radio.
Playing audio from the deviceThere are two ways of listening to audio on your portab le player:
– Via the vehicle loudspeakers.
– Infrared wireless headphone receiver.
When the TFT screen on the ceiling is on, the audio from the portable device
is played through the screen. Therefore, you only need infrared headphones
to listen to the audio source. You may use as many pairs of infrared head-
phones as you like at the same time provided they ar e compatible with your
equipment. This means that you can list en to any radio source (internal CD,
FM, AM, USB, iPod, AUX...), while the passengers wearing wireless head-
phones (infrared) can listen to the portable audible device connected to the
AUX RSE power point ⇒page 4, fig. 3 .
To listen to the audio source from the portable device through the vehicle
loudspeakers, select the auxiliary au dio input on your sound equipment.
Check that there are no multimedia devices or any othe r type of audio cable
connected to the MEDIA-IN connector of the front armrest (depending on
version). See radio or navigator manual.
Remember that if you change temporarily to a different sourc e without stop-
ping the play on the portable device, when you go bac k to the auxiliary
source, it will not continue to play at the point where yo u left off.Settings menuUse button to enter the settings menu for the screen. U se the settings
menu to adjust the following parameters:
– Brightness
–Contrast
– Saturation

6–Clarity
– Lighting: There are three levels of lighting Hi, Mid , Low. The lighting on
the TFT screen should be adjusted a ccording to the exterior light condi-
tions.
– Language: Spanish, German, English, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese.
– Reset: Restore default settings
Press button to increase the value of the param eters. Press button to
reduce the value of the parameters (brightness, contrast, saturation...).
