Class N1 vehicles
Read and observe
and on page 106 first.
In class N1 vehicles that are not fitted with a protective grille, a lashing set that
complies with the EN 12195 standard (1-4) must be used for fastening the load.
Proper functioning of the electrical installation is essential for safe vehicle op-
eration. It is important to ensure that the electrical installation is not damaged
during the adjustment process or when the storage area is being loaded and
unloaded.

Net partition
Introduction
This chapter contains information on the following subjects:
Using the net partition
116
Removing and refitting the net partition housing
117
The net partition can either be extracted from behind the rear seats or behind
the front seats.
This chapter describes the procedure for extracting and rolling up the net par-
tition behind the rear seats.
Installing and removing the net partition from behind the front seats is carried
out in a similar way as behind the rear seats. Before removing the net parti-
tion, the rear seat backrests should be folded forwards. After rolling up the net
partition in the housing, the rear seat backrests should then be folded back

Roof rack
Introduction
This chapter contains information on the following subjects:
fixing points for base support
118
Roof load
118WARNINGWhen transporting cargo the following the instructions must be adhered
to.■
The transported items on the roof rack must always be securely attached
– risk of accident!
■
Always secure the load with appropriate and undamaged lashing straps
or tensioning straps.
■
Distribute the load evenly over the roof rack system.
■
When transporting heavy objects or objects which take up a large area on
the roof rack system, the handling of the car may change as a result of the
displacement of the centre of gravity. The style of driving and speed must
therefore be adapted to the current circumstances.
■
Avoid abrupt and sudden driving/braking manoeuvres.
■
The permissible roof load, permissible axle loads and permissible total ve-
hicle weight must not be exceeded under any circumstances – risk of acci-
dent!
CAUTION
■ On models fitted with a sliding/tilting roof, ensure that the sliding/tilting roof
does not strike any items of luggage transported on the roof when tilting.■
Ensure that the boot lid does not hit the roof load when opened.
■
The height of the vehicle changes after mounting a roof luggage rack system
including the load that is being transported. Compare the vehicle height with
available clearances, such as underpasses and garage doors.
■
Ensure the roof aerial is not impaired by the load being transported.
Note
We recommend that you use a roof rack from ŠKODA Original Accessories.117Transporting and practical equipment

■It is only a two-dimensional display. Therefore, protruding objects or roadway
depressions, for example, may not be recognised due to lack of space depth.■
In a crash or damage the vehicle's rear camera can possibly deviate from the
correct position. If this is the case, have the sensor checked by a specialist ga-
rage.

The following modes are available for support during the park and manoeu- vring action.
▶ Traverse parking
▶ Parallel parking
▶ Driving up to a trailer / distance monitoring
▶ Monitoring the area behind the vehicle (wide view)
The mode change is done by means of the function keys on the display.
The system can assist the driver when parking and manoeuvring under the fol-
lowing basic conditions.
The ignition is switched on.
The system is activated.
The luggage compartment lid is completely closed.
ABThe vehicle is not travelling at more than about 15 km/h.
The area behind the vehicle is clearly visible.
The selected parking / manoeuvring area is clear and even.

Activation
The system is activated by selecting reverse gear or pressing the symbol but-
ton
» Fig. 185 .
This is confirmed by a short acoustic signal ( the symbol in the button is lit).
The display mode for the traverse parking is displayed.
Deactivation
The system is deactivated by pressing the symbol button , switching off the
ignition or when the speed exceeds 15 km/h (the symbol in the button then
goes out).

■Do not attach any stickers to the filaments or glass antenna - there is risk of
damage.■
Do not clean the roof panelling with a brush – risk of damage to the surface
of the panelling.
■
Cleaner that contain solvents can damage the material being cleaned.
■
Apply only a small amount of the cleaning and care product.
Note
Due to the special tools and knowledge required, and to avoid any potential
problems with the cleaning and care of the interior of your vehicle, we recom-
mend that cleaning and care of the interior of your vehicle be carried out by a
ŠKODA service partner.
Natural leather
Read and observe
and on page 198 first.
The leather needs, depending on the strain placed on it, regular cleaning and
maintenance.
Dust and dirt in pores and creases cause abrasions on the surface and lead to
premature embrittlement of the leather surface. Therefore, they must be re-
moved regularly at short intervals with a cloth or vacuum cleaner.
Clean soiled leather surfaces with a water-dampened cotton or woollen cloth
and then dry with a clean, dry cloth »
.
Clean severely soiled areas with a cloth soaked in a mild soap solution (2 ta-
blespoons of neutral soap to 1 litre of water).
To remove stains , use a cleaning agent specially designed for this purpose.
Treat the leather periodically with a suitable leather protector and use a skin
care cream with light blocker and impregnation after each cleaning.
CAUTION
■ Ensure that no part of the leather is soaked through during cleaning and that
no water gets into the seams. Otherwise, the leather could become brittle or
cracked.■
Avoid leaving the vehicle for lengthy periods in bright sunlight to avoid the
leather from bleaching. If the vehicle is parked in the open for lengthy periods,
protect the leather from direct sunlight by covering it.
■
The use of an additional mechanical steering wheel lock may damage the
leather surface of the steering wheel.
■ Some clothing materials, e.g. dark denim, do not have sufficient colour fast-
ness. This can cause damage or clearly visible discolouration to seat covers,
even when used correctly. This applies particularly to light-coloured seat cov-
ers. This does not relate to a fault in the seat cover, but rather to poor colour
fastness of the clothing textiles.■
Sharp-edged objects on items of clothing such as zip fasteners, rivets, sharp-
edged belts etc. may leave permanent scratches or signs of rubbing on the
surface or damage these. Such damage cannot be subsequently recognised as
a justified complaint.
Note
When using the vehicle, minor visible changes may occur to the leather parts
of the covers (e.g. wrinkles or creases) as a result of the stress applied to the
covers.
Artificial leather, materials and Alcantara ®
Read and observe
and on page 198 first.
Artificial leather
Clean artificial leather with a damp cloth.
If this method does not completely clean the artificial leather, use a mild soap
solution or cleaning products specially designed for this purpose.
Fabric
Clean upholstery cover materials and cloth trims on doors, boot cover, etc. us-
ing specific cleaning agents, e.g., dry foam.
Use a soft sponge, brush, or commercially available microfibre cloth.
Use a cloth and a cleaning agent specifically designed for this purpose to clean
the roof trim.
Remove any lumps on the cover fabric and any fabric residue using a brush.
Remove stubborn hair using a “cleaning glove”.
Alcantara ®
Dust and dirt in pores, creases and seams may chafe and damage the surface.
Therefore, they must be removed regularly at short intervals with a cloth or
vacuum cleaner.
Minor changes in colour caused by use are normal.
