denly, the emergency flashers auto-
matically flash to alert the vehicle
behind.
■Secondary Collision Brake
When the SRS airbag sensor
detects a collision and the system
operates, the brakes and brake
lights are automatically controlled
to reduce the vehicle speed and
help reduce the possibility of further
damage due to a secondary colli-
sion.
■When the TRC/VSC systems are
operating
The slip indicator light will flash while the TRC/VSC systems are operating.
■Disabling the TRC system
If the vehicle gets stuck in mud, dirt or
snow, the TRC system may reduce
power from the engine to the wheels.
Pressing to turn the system off may
make it easier for you to rock the vehicle
in order to free it.
To turn the TRC system off, quickly
press and release .
The “Traction Control Turned OFF” will
be shown on the multi-information dis-
play.
Press again to turn the system
back on.

■Turning off both TRC and VSC sys- tems
To turn the TRC and VSC systems off,
press and hold for more than 3 sec-
onds while the vehicle is stopped.
The VSC OFF indicator light will come
on and the “Traction Control Turned
OFF” will be shown on the multi-infor-
mation display.*
Press again to turn the system
back on.
*: PCS will also be disabled (only Pre-
Collision warning is available). The
PCS warning light will come on and a

■When the message is displayed on
the multi-information display show-
ing that TRC has been disabled
even if has not been pressed
TRC is temporary deactivated. If the
information continues to show, contact any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer.
■Operating conditions of hill-start assist control
When all of the following conditions are
met, the hill-start assist control will oper- ate:
●Vehicles with Multidrive: The shift lever is in a position other than P or N (when starting off forward/backward
on an upward incline).
●Vehicles with manual transmission:
The shift lever is in a position other than R when starting off forward on an upward incline, or the shift lever is in
R when starting off backward on an upward incline.
●The vehicle is stopped
●The accelerator pedal is not
depressed
●The parking brake is not engaged
●The engine switch is turned to ON
■Automatic system cancelation of hill-start assist control
The hill-start assist control will turn off in any of the following situations:
●Vehicles with Multidrive: The shift lever is shifted to P or N.
●Vehicles with manual transmission: The shift lever is shifted to R when starting off forward on an upward
incline, or the shift lever is shifted to other than R when starting off back-ward on an upward incline.
●The accelerator pedal is depressed
●The parking brake is engaged
●2 seconds at maximum elapsed after the brake pedal is released
●The engine switch is turned to OFF
■Sounds and vibrations caused by the ABS, brake assist, VSC, TRC
and hill-start assist control sys- tems
●A sound may be heard from the engine compartment when the brake pedal is depressed repeatedly, when
the engine is started or just after the vehicle begins to move. This sound does not indicate that a malfunction
has occurred in any of these systems.
●Any of the following conditions may
occur when the above systems are operating. None of these indicates that a malfunction has occurred.
• Vibrations may be felt through the vehicle body and steering.• A motor sound may be heard also
after the vehicle comes to a stop. • The brake pedal may pulsate slightly after the ABS is activated.
• The brake pedal may move down slightly after the ABS is activated.
■Active Cornering Assist operation sounds and vibrations
When the Active Cornering Assist is operated, operation sounds and vibra-tions may be generated from the brake
system, but this is not a malfunction.
■EPS operation sound
When the steering wheel is operated, a motor sound (whirring sound) may be
heard. This does not indicate a malfunc- tion.
■Automatic reactivation of TRC and VSC systems
After turning the TRC and VSC systems off, the systems will be automatically re-enabled in the following situations:
●When the engine switch is turned off
●If only the TRC system is turned off, the TRC will turn on when vehicle speed increases.

WARNING
■TRC/VSC may not operate effec- tively when
Directional control and power may not be achievable while driving on slip-pery road surfaces, even if the
TRC/VSC system is operating. Drive the vehicle carefully in conditions where stability and power may be
lost.
■Active Cornering Assist does not
operate effectively when
●Do not overly rely on Active Corner- ing Assist. Active Cornering Assist
may not operate effectively when accelerating down slopes or driving on slippery road surfaces.
●When Active Cornering Assist fre-quently operates, Active Cornering
Assist may temporarily stop operat- ing to ensure proper operation of the brakes, TRC and VSC.
■Hill-start assist control does not operate effectively when
●Do not overly rely on hill-start assist control. Hill-start assist control may not operate effectively on steep
inclines and roads covered with ice.
●Unlike the parking brake, hill-start
assist control is not intended to hold the vehicle stationary for an extended period of time. Do not
attempt to use hill-start assist con- trol to hold the vehicle on an incline, as doing so may lead to an acci-
dent.
■When the TRC/VSC is activated
The slip indicator light flashes. Always drive carefully. Reckless driving may cause an accident. Exercise particular
care when the indicator light flashes.
■When the TRC/VSC systems are turned off
Be especially careful and drive at a
speed appropriate to the road condi- tions. As these are the systems to help ensure vehicle stability and driv-
ing force, do not turn the TRC/VSC systems off unless necessary.
■Replacing tires
Make sure that all tires are of the specified size, brand, tread pattern
and total load capacity. In addition, make sure that the tires are inflated to the recommended tire inflation pres-
sure level. The ABS, TRC and VSC systems will not function correctly if different tires
are installed on the vehicle. Contact any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any
reliable repairer for further information when replacing tires or wheels.
■Handling of tires and the suspen-sion
Using tires with any kind of problem
or modifying the suspension will affect the driving assist systems, and may cause a system to malfunction.
■Secondary Collision Brake
Do not rely solely upon the Secondary
Collision Brake. This system is designed to help reduce the possibil-ity of further damage due to a second-
ary collision, however, that effect changes according to various condi-tions. Overly relying on the system
may result in death or serious injury.

The USB charging port are used to
supply 2.1 A of electricity at 5 V to
external devices.
The USB charging port are for
charging only. They are not
designed for data transfer or other
purposes.
Depending on the external device,
it may not charge properly. Refer to

Depending on the connected external device, charging may occasionally be
suspended and then start again. This is not a malfunction.

■Using the wireless charger
1 Press the power supply switch
of the wireless charger.
Switches on and off with each press of
the power supply switch. When turned on, the operation indicator light (green) comes on.
Even with the engine off, the on/off state of the power supply switch is memorized.
2 Place the charging side of the
portable device down.
When charging, the operation indicator light (orange) comes on.
If charging is not occurring, try placing the portable device as close to the cen-ter of the charging area as possible.
When charging is complete, the opera- tion indicator light (green) comes on.
■Recharging function
 When charging is complete and
after a fixed time in the charge
suspension state, charging
restarts.
 When the portable device is
moved, charging is stopped for a
moment and then it restarts.
■Lighting conditi ons of opera-

■Usable portable devices
●Qi standard wireless charge standard
can be used on compatible devices. However, not all Qi standard devices
and compatibility are guaranteed.
●Starting with mobile phones and smartphones, it is aimed for low
power electrically supplied portable devices of no more than 5W.
■When covers and accessories are attached to portable devices
Do not charge in situations where cover and accessories not able to handle Qi are attached to the portable device.
Depending on the type of cover and accessory, it may not be possible to charge. When charging is not performed
even with the portable device placed on the charge area, remove the cover and accessories.
■While charging, noise enters the
AM radio
Turn off the wireless charger and con- firm that the noise has decreased. If the
noise decreases, continuously pushing the power supply switch of the wireless charger for 2 seconds, the frequency of
the charger can be changed and the noise can be reduced. Also, on that occasion, the operation indicator light
will flash orange 2 times.
■Important points of the wireless charger
●If the electronic key cannot be detected within the vehicle interior, charging cannot be done. When the
door is opened and closed, charging may be temporarily suspended.
●When charging, the wireless charging device and portable device will get warmer, however this is not a mal-
function. When a portable device gets warm while charging, charging may stop
due to the protection function on the portable device side. In this case, when the temperature of the portable
device drops significantly, charge again.
●Depending on usage of the portable device, it may not be fully charged.This is not a malfunction.

Insert a new battery with the “+” termi- nal facing up.

& start system) or electronic key (vehicles with a smart entry & start system). If a battery is swallowed, it
may cause severe chemical burns i n a s l it t l e as 2 ho u r s a n d m ay r e su lt in death or serious injury.
●Keep away new and removed bat-teries from children.
●If the cover cannot be firmly closed, stop using the wireless remote con-
trol key (vehicles without a smart entry & start system) or electronic key (vehicles with a smart entry &
start system). and stow the key in the place where children cannot reach, and then contact any autho-
rized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
●If you accidentally swallow a battery or put a battery into a part of your
body, get emergency medical atten- tion immediately.
■To prevent battery explosion or leakage of flammable liquid or gas
●Replace the battery with a new bat-tery of the same type. If a wrong type of battery is used, it may
explode.
●Do not expose batteries to
extremely low pressure due to high altitude or extremely high tempera-tures.
●Do not burn, break or cut a battery.
■Lithium battery precautions
