thebeltispositionedcorrectlyacrossthe
shoulder
thelapbeltislowoverthepelvisfor
optimumprotection
thebeltdoesnottouchthechild’sthroat
orliebelowtheshoulder
carefullyadjustthepositionofthehead
restrainttosuitthechild
WARNING!
Theboostercushionmustbeinthelocked
positionbeforethechildisplacedthere.

Repairorreplacementshouldonlybeper-
formedbyanauthorisedVolvoworkshop.
Donotmakeanymodificationsoraddi-
tionstotheboostercushion.
Ifanintegratedboostercushionhasbeen
subjectedtoamajorload,suchasin
conjunctionwithacollision,theentire
boostercushionmustbereplaced.Evenif
theboostercushionappearstobe
undamaged,itmaynotaffordthesame
levelofprotection.Theboostercushion
mustalsobereplacedifitisheavilyworn.

Theseatbeltinthecentreofthesecondrow
ofseatshasanextralockingfunction
(ALR/ELR)tohelpholdthebelttauntinorder
tofacilitatechildseatinstallation.
Wheninstallingachildseatwiththehelpof
theseatbelt:
Securetheseatbeltinthechildseat
followingtheinstructionsofthechildseat
manufacturer.
Pullouttheentireseatbelt.
Lockthebeltbyinsertingthelockingtab
inthebuckle.Aloud"click"indicatesthat
thebeltislocked.
Allowtheseatbeltmechanismtoretract
thebeltwhilestretchingitaroundthe
childseat.Amechanicalsoundwillbe
audiblefromtheseatbelt.Thisisnormal.
Thisfunctionisautomaticallydeactivated
whentheseatbeltisreleasedfromthebuckle
andretractsbacktoitsstartingposition.
Ifthereareanyproblemswithinstallationof
childsafetyproducts,contactthemanufac-
turerforclearerinstallationinstructions.1.AutomaticLockingRetractor/

Theparkingheatercanbestartedimmedi-
atelyorsetwithtwodifferentstarttimes
usingTIMER1andTIMER2.Starttime
referstothetimethecarshouldbeheated
andready.
Thecar’selectronicsystemcalculateswhen
heatingshouldbestartedbasedontheoutsidetemperature.Iftheoutsidetemper-
atureexceeds25°C,theheaterdoesnot
switchon.Attemperaturesof–10°Cand
below,themaximumrunningtimeofthe
parkingheateris60minutes.
Iftheparkingheaterdoesnotstartdespite
repeatedattempts,amessageisshownon
thedisplay.ContactanauthorisedVolvo
workshop.
Warningdecalonfuelfillerflap.MessagesonthedisplayOncethesettingsforTIMER1,TIMER2and
DirectStartareactivated,theamberwarning
symbolinthecombinedinstrumentpanel
comesonandexplanatorytextisshownon
thedisplay.
Whenyouleavethecar,youwillreceivea
messageregardingthecurrentsettingsof
thesystem.ParkingonahillIfyouparkyourcaronasteepincline,the
frontofthecarshouldbefacinguptheslope
toensurethesupplyoffueltotheparking
heater.
WARNING!
Switchoffthefuel-drivenheaterbefore
refuelling.Spilledfuelcouldbeignitedby
theexhaustgases.
Checkontheinformationdisplaythat

mounted.Kerbweightincludesthedriver,the
weightofthefueltankwhenfilledto90%
andvariousfluids,suchaswasherfluidand
coolant.Mountedaccessories,i.e.towbar,
loadcarriers,spacebox,etc.,areincludedin
thekerbweight.
Thepayloadofthecarisreducedbythe
numberofpassengersandtheirweight.LoadingthecargocompartmentTheseatbeltsandairbagsprovidethedriver
andpassengerssubstantialprotection,
especiallyinhead-oncollisions.However,
youmustalsoremembertoprotectyourself
againstinjuriesfrombehind.Whenloadingcargo,bearinmindthatimproperlysecured
orincorrectlyloadedobjectsinthecargo
compartmentcouldbethrownforwardwith
greatspeedandforceintheeventofa
collisionorsuddenbraking,causingserious
injuries.
Bearinmindthatifanobjectweighing20kg
issubjectedtoahead-oncollisionataspeed
of50km/h,itsimpactweightwillbe
1000kg.
Thinkaboutthefollowingwhenloading:
Donotloadextremelyheavyobjectsup
bythefrontseats.Theloweredbackrest
willbepresseddownunnecessarilyhard.
Placetheloadbythebackrest.
Positionheavyloadsaslowaspossible.
Positionwideloadsoneachsideofthe
divisioninthebackrest.
Coversharpedgeswithsomethingsoft.
Securetheloadwithretainingstraps
usingthecar’slashingeyes.
Neverloadabovethebackrestwithouta
loadnet.
WARNING!
Thedrivingcharacteristicsofthecar
changebasedonthecar’skerbweight
andhowheavilyitisloaded.

Neverloadcargoabovethebackrests!If
youdoso,theloadcouldbethrown
forwardintheeventofsuddenbrakingor

passengers.Remembertoalwayssecure

loadthecarhigherthan50mmunderthe

Leave10cmoffreespacefromthe
windowsinwards.Otherwise,the
intendedprotectionoftheinflatable
curtain,whichishiddenintheheadlining,
maybecompromised.
Alwayssecuretheload.Duringheavy
brakingtheloadmayotherwiseshift,
causingpersonalinjury.
Turnofftheengineandapplytheparking
brakewhenloadingorunloadinglong
objects!Youmayaccidentallyknockthe
gearleverorgearselectorwiththeload
andcauseageartoengageandthecarto
moveoff.

FittingthesafetynetIfthecarisequippedwithacargoareacover,
removeitbeforefittingthesafetynet.
–Hooktheupperrodinthefrontorrear
roofmounting.
–Hooktheotherendoftherodintheroof
mountingontheotherside.
–Securethesafetynetanchoringstrapsin
theeyesonthefloorifthenetissecured
intherearroofmountings.
Usetheeyesintheseatsliderailifthenet
issecuredinthefrontroofmountings.Onlyappliestocarsseatingseven:
–Makesurethenetliesinfrontoftheside
panelarmrestwhensecuring.
–Tensionthesafetynetusingthe
anchoringstraps.

Forreasonsofsafety,theprotectivegrille
mustalwaysbemountedandsecured
correctly.
Fittheprotectivegrilleasfollows:
–Liftintheprotectivegrillethroughthe
tailgateopeningoroneoftherear
doorways(folddowntheseatsinthe
secondrowifnecessary).–Insertoneoftheprotectivegrille
mountingsinitsbracketabovetherear
doorbehindthesecondrowofseats.
–Slidetheprotectivegrillemountingtothe
frontpositionofthebracket.
–Placetheotherprotectivegrillemounting
initsbracketabovetheotherreardoor
andslideittothefrontposition.
–Inserttheattachingbracethroughthe
lowermountingintheprotectivegrille
fromunderneath,asindicatedintheillus-
tration.
–Fitthespringontheattachingbraceand
screwintheknob.
WARNING!
Makesurethattheuppermountingsofthe
safetynetarecorrectlyfittedandthatthe
anchoringstrapsaresecurelyfastened.

awheelbrace.
Afteruse,unscrewthetowingeyeandrefit
thecover.Thetowingeyemayonlybeusedfortowing
onroads,notforrecoveryafterdrivingintoa
ditchorthelike.Professionalhelpshouldbe
calledforrecovery.
