Coolant temperature warning light “ ”
When the coolant temperature reaches a speci-
fied level, this light comes on to warn that the
coolant temperature is too hot. If the light comes
on during operation, stop the engine as soon as
it is safe to do so and allow the engine to cool
down for about 10 minutes.
The electrical circuit of the warning light can be
checked by turning the key to “ON”. If the warn-
ing light does not come on, and then go off,
have a Yamaha dealer check the electrical cir-
cuit.

8The engine may overheat if the ATV is
overloaded. If this happens, reduce the
load to specification.
8After restarting, make sure that the light is
out. Continuous use while the light is on
may cause damage to the engine.

Témoin d’avertissement de la température du
liquide de refroidissement “ ”
Lorsque la température du liquide de refroidis-
sement atteint un certain niveau, ce témoin
s’allume pour signaler la surchauffe du liquide.
Si le témoin s’allume pendant une randonnée,
couper le moteur dès que possible et le laisser
refroidir pendant environ 10 minutes.
Le circuit électrique du témoin d’avertissement
est contrôlé à chaque fois que la clé de contact
est tournée sur “ON”. Si le témoin ne s’allume
pas brièvement, faire contrôler le circuit élec-
trique par un concessionnaire Yamaha.

8La surchauffe du moteur peut être causée
par un chargement excessif du véhicule. En
cas de surcharge, réduire la charge (voir
les limites spécifiées).
8Remettre le moteur en marche, puis s’assu-
rer que le témoin s’éteigne. Lorsque ce
témoin est allumé, il ne faut pas rouler de
façon continue, sous peine d’endommager
le moteur.

Luz de aviso de la temperatura del refrige-
rante “ ”
Cuando la temperatura del refrigerante alcanza
un nivel especificado, se enciende esta luz para
avisar que la temperatura del refrigerante es
demasiado alta. Si se enciende con el motor en
marcha, párelo en cuando la seguridad lo permi-
ta y deje que se enfría durante unos 10 minutos.
El circuito eléctrico de la luz de aviso, puede
comprobarse girando la llave a la posición “ON”.
Si no se enciende la luz de aviso, y luego se
apaga, solicite a un concesionario Yamaha que
compruebe el circuito eléctrico.

8Un exceso de carga puede ser la causa del
sobrecalentamiento. En este caso, reduz-
ca la carga al nivel especificado.
8Después de haber vuelto a arrancar, ase-
gúrese que la luz esté apagada. El uso
continuado con la luz de control de la tem-
peratura del aceite encendida puede cau-
sar daños en el motor.

Engine trouble warning light “ ”
This warning light comes on or flashes when an
electrical circuit monitoring the engine is defec-
tive. When this occurs, have a Yamaha dealer
check the self-diagnosis system.
The electrical circuit of the warning light can be
checked by turning the key to “ON”. If the warn-
ing light does not come on, and then go off,
have a Yamaha dealer check the electrical cir-
cuit.

Fuel level warning light “ ”
This fuel level warning light comes on when the
fuel level drops below approximately 2.6 L (0.57
Imp.gal, 0.69 US gal). When this occurs, refuel
as soon as possible.
The electrical circuit of the warning light can be
checked by setting the engine stop switch to
“RUN” and turning the key to “ON”.
If the warning light does not come on, and then
go off, have a Yamaha dealer check the electri-
cal circuit.

Témoin d’avertissement de panne moteur

Ce témoin d’alerte s’allume ou clignote lorsqu’un
des circuits électriques contrôlant le moteur est
défectueux. Dans ce cas, il convient de faire véri-
fier le système embarqué de diagnostic de pannes
par un concessionnaire Yamaha.
Le circuit électrique du témoin d’avertissement
est contrôlé à chaque fois que la clé de contact
est tournée sur “ON”. Si le témoin ne s’allume
pas brièvement, faire contrôler le circuit élec-
trique par un concessionnaire Yamaha.

Témoin d’avertissement du niveau de
carburant “ ”
Le témoin d’avertissement du niveau de carbu-
rant s’allume lorsque le niveau du carburant des-
cend sous environ 2.6 l (0.57 Imp.gal, 0.69 US
gal). Dans ce cas, il convient de refaire le plein
dès que possible.
Le circuit électrique du témoin d’avertissement
est contrôlé à chaque fois que le coupe-circuit
du moteur est réglé sur “RUN” et que la clé de
contact est tournée sur “ON”.

Esta luz de aviso se enciende o parpadea cuan-
do un circuito eléctrico de control del motor está
averiado. Cuando ocurra esto, haga revisar el
sistema de autodiagnóstico en un concesionario

El circuito eléctrico de la luz de aviso se puede
comprobar girando la llave a la posición “ON”. Si
la luz de aviso no se enciende, y luego se
apaga, haga revisar el circuito eléctrico en un
concesionario Yamaha.

Luz de aviso del nivel de combustible” ”
Esta luz de aviso del nivel de combustible se
enciende cuando el nivel de combustible cae
aproximadamente por debajo de 2.6 L. Cuando
así le ocurra, reposte lo antes posible.
El circuito eléctrico de la luz de aviso puede
comprobarse poniendo el interruptor de paro del
motor en la posición “RUN” y girando la llave a
la posición “ON”.
Si la luz de aviso no se enciende, y luego se
apaga, haga revisar el circuito eléctrico en un
concesionario Yamaha.

Set the switch to the “LO” position to turn on the
low beam and the taillight.
Set the switch to the “HI” position to turn on the
high beam and the taillight.
Set the switch to the “OFF” position to turn off all
of the lights.

Do not use the headlights with the engine
turned off for more than thirty minutes. The
battery may discharge to the point that the
starter motor will not operate properly. If this
should happen, remove the battery and
recharge it.

tous les feux.

Ne jamais laisser les phares allumés pendant
plus d’une demi-heure après avoir coupé le
moteur. La batterie risque de se décharger au
point d’empêcher la mise en marche du
moteur. Si cela devait se produire, déposer et
recharger la batterie.

Engine stop switch “ENG. STOP”
Make sure that the engine stop switch is in the
“RUN” position before starting the engine. The
engine stop switch controls ignition and can be
used at all times to stop the engine, especially in
an emergency. The engine will not start or run
when the engine stop switch is turned to “OFF”.

Coupe-circuit du moteur “ENG. STOP”
S’assurer que le coupe-circuit du moteur est
placé sur “RUN” avant de mettre le moteur en
marche. Le coupe-circuit du moteur contrôle
l’allumage et peut à tout moment servir à couper
le moteur. Il est particulièrement utile en cas
d’urgence. Le moteur ne se met pas en marche
ou ne tourne pas quand son coupe-circuit est sur
“OFF”.

Throttle lever
Once the engine is running, movement of the
throttle lever will increase the engine speed.
Regulate the speed of the machine by varying
the throttle position. Because the throttle is
spring-loaded, the machine will decelerate, and
the engine will return to an idle any time the
hand is removed from the throttle lever.
Before starting the engine, check the throttle to
be sure it is operating smoothly. Make sure it
returns to the idle position as soon as the lever
is released.

Malfunction of the throttle could make it diffi-
cult to speed up or slow down when you
need to. This could cause an accident.
Check the operation of the throttle lever
before you start the engine. If the throttle
does not work smoothly, check for the
cause. Correct the problem before riding the
ATV or consult a Yamaha dealer.
