If you enter the access code too faston the keypad, the unlock functionmay not work. Slowly re-enter theaccess code.
Why does the keypad not function?
The keypad goes into an anti-scanmode if you enter a wrong code seventimes. The anti-scan mode disablesthe keypad for one minute and the redlight flashes.

WHAT IS WALK AWAY LOCK
Phone as a Key with Walk Away Locking
Walk away lock is a locking feature thatlocks the vehicle when you walk away fromthe vehicle with the passive key orauthorized phone.
HOW DOES WALK AWAY LOCK
WORK
Walk Away Lock will lock all the doorswhen all of the following are met:
•The vehicle is off.
•All doors and luggage compartmentshave been closed and unlocked.
•A door or luggage compartment hasbeen opened and closed without a lockor unlock occurring after all doors orluggage compartments have beenclosed.
•Any passive key or authorized phone isnot inside the vehicle.
•More than 150 seconds has elapsed.
WALK AWAY LOCK
LIMITATIONS
Walk Away Lock does not lock all the doorswhen following occur:
•The vehicle is on.
•All doors are closed and locked.
•Any of the doors or luggagecompartments are open.
•Any passive key or authorized phone isinside the vehicle.

With the transmission in park (P), accessthe liftgate settings on the touchscreen.

2.Press CONTROLS.

1.Unlock the liftgate using an authorizeddevice.
Note:If an authorized device is within 3 ft(1 m) of the liftgate, the liftgate unlockswhen you press the liftgate release button.
2.Press and release the liftgate controlbutton.
Note:Allow the power system to open theliftgate. Manually pushing or pulling theliftgate may activate the system’s obstacledetection feature and stop the poweroperation or reverse its direction, replicatea strut failure, or damage mechanicalcomponents.

PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT
SYSTEM
WHAT IS THE PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM
The passive anti-theft system preventssomeone from starting the vehicle with anincorrectly coded key.
Note:Do not leave a duplicate coded keyin your vehicle. Always take the keys andlock all the doors when leaving your vehicle.
HOW DOES THE PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM WORK
The passive anti-theft system arms whenyou switch the ignition off.
It disarms when the ignition is switched onwith a correctly coded key.
Note:The system is not compatible withnon-Ford aftermarket remote start systems.
Note:Do not leave a duplicate coded keyin your vehicle. Always take the keys andlock all doors when leaving your vehicle.
ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM
WHAT IS THE ANTI-THEFT ALARMSYSTEM
The anti-theft alarm system warns you ofan unauthorized entry to your vehicle.
HOW DOES THE ANTI-THEFTALARM SYSTEM WORK
When armed, the anti-theft alarm istriggered in any of the following ways:
•If someone opens a door, the liftgateor the hood without a correctly codedkey or remote control.
•If you turn the power on without acorrectly coded key.
•If the interior sensors detect movementinside your vehicle.
•If the inclination sensors detect anattempt to raise your vehicle.
•If someone disconnects the vehiclebattery or the battery backup alarm.
If the anti-theft alarm is triggered, thealarm horn sounds for 30 seconds and thedirection indicators flash for 5 minutes.
Any further attempts to carry out one ofthe above sounds the alarm again.
WHAT ARE THE INTERIORSENSORS
The interior sensors detect movementinside your vehicle.
The interior sensors are in the overheadconsole.
Note:Do not cover the interior sensors.
Note:If you set the cabin comfort level foryour departure time with the alarm armed,the interior sensors deactivate for theduration of the cabin preconditioning toavoid a false alarm.
WHAT ARE THE INCLINATIONSENSORS
The inclination sensor is designed to detectan attempt to raise your vehicle, forexample to remove a wheel or to tow itaway.

ARMING THE ANTI-THEFT ALARMSYSTEM
The alarm is ready to arm when yourvehicle is switched off.
Lock your vehicle with your remote controlto arm the alarm.
DISARMING THE ANTI-THEFTALARM SYSTEM
Disarm the alarm by performing any of thefollowing actions:
•Unlock the doors or luggagecompartment with the remote control.
•Switch your vehicle on or start yourvehicle.

You can select two levels of alarm security,all sensors and perimeter sensing.
All Sensors
All sensors is the standard setting.
In all sensors, all equipped sensors are onwhen you arm the alarm.
Note:Do not arm the alarm with all sensorsif passengers, animals or other movingobjects are inside your vehicle.
Perimeter Sensing
In perimeter sensing, the interior sensorsare off when you arm the alarm.
All the other equipped sensors activatewhen you arm the alarm in this mode.
SETTING THE ALARM SECURITYLEVEL

3.Press Alarm System.
4.Press Motion sensors.
5.Press a setting.
WHAT IS ASK ON EXIT

ADJUSTING THE STEERING
WHEEL
Adjusting the Steering Wheel
WARNING: Do not adjust thesteering wheel when your vehicle ismoving.
Note: Make sure that you are sitting in thecorrect position.
1.Unlock the steering column.
2.Adjust the steering wheel to theposition you prefer.
3.Lock the steering column.
HORN
Press on the center of thesteering wheel near the horn iconto activate the horn.
SWITCHING THE HEATED
STEERING WHEEL ON AND OFF
To activate the heated steeringwheel, press the button on thetouchscreen near the climatecontrols. The button illuminates when theheated steering wheel is on. To turn it off,press the heated steering wheel buttonagain.
Note:The engine must be running to usethe heated steering wheel.
Note:A sensor regulates the temperatureof the steering wheel.
Note:Depending on the remote startsettings, the heated steering wheel mayremain on after remote starting your vehicle.It may also turn on when you start yourvehicle if it was on the last time the enginewas switched off.

CHECKING THE WIPER

Run the tip of your fingers over the edge ofthe blade to check for roughness.
REPLACING THE FRONT
WIPER BLADES
Make sure your vehicle is off beforebeginning this procedure.
Note:Do not manually move the wiperarms. To place the wiper arms in a serviceposition, switch your vehicle on in accessorymode, switch on the wipers and switch yourvehicle off when the wipers are at theirhighest position.
1.Lift the wiper arm and then press thewiper blade locking button.
Note:Do not hold the wiper blade to lift thewiper arm.
2.Remove the wiper blade.
Note:Make sure that the wiper arm doesnot spring back against the glass when thewiper blade is not attached.
3.To install, reverse the removalprocedure.
Note:Make sure that the wiper blade locksinto place.

CONTROL
HOW DOES AUTOMATIC HIGHBEAM CONTROL WORK
Automatic high beam control turns thehigh beams on if it is dark enough and noother traffic is present. If it detects anapproaching vehicle’s headlamps or taillamps, or street lighting ahead, the systemturns the high beams off.
A camera sensor, centrally mountedbehind the windshield of your vehicle,continuously monitors conditions to turnthe high beams on and off.

OPENING AND CLOSING THE
WINDOWS
WARNING: Do not leave childrenunattended in your vehicle and do notlet them play with the power windows.Failure to follow this instruction couldresult in personal injury.
WARNING: When closing thepower windows, verify they are free ofobstruction and make sure that childrenand pets are not in the proximity of thewindow openings.
Press the window control switchto open the window. Lift thewindow control switch to closethe window.
Note:The power windows operate with theignition on, and for several minutes after youswitch the ignition off or until you open afront door.
To reduce wind noise or pulsing noise whenone window is open, slightly open theopposite window.
One-Touch Open
Fully press the window control switch andrelease it. Press again or lift it to stop thewindow.
One-Touch Close
Fully lift the window control switch andrelease it. Press again or lift it to stop thewindow.
Resetting One-Touch Close
Carry out all steps within 30 seconds ofstarting the sequence.
1.Close the window.
2.Press and hold the window controlswitch until the window is fully open.Keep the window control switchpressed for a few seconds.
3.Lift and hold the window control switchuntil the window is fully closed. Keepthe window control switch held for afew seconds.
4.Press and hold the window controlswitch until the window is fully open.Keep the window control switchpressed for a few seconds.
5.Lift and hold the window control switchuntil the window is fully closed. Keepthe window control switch held for afew seconds.
Note:Repeat the procedure if the windowdoes not close when you use one-touch.

You can use the remote control to openthe windows with the ignition off.
USING GLOBAL OPENING
1.Press and release the unlock button onthe remote control.

3.Release the button when the windowsstart to open.
Press the lock or the unlock button on theremote control to stop global opening.
Note:You can use global opening for ashort period of time when you unlock yourvehicle using the remote control.
