3. Remove special tool 303-021 from fender channel.

11. Install crossbeam to engine Hydramount bolts.
Install bolt securing Hydramou nt to crossbeam and tighten to 34-46Nm.
Repeat procedure to install crossbeam opposite side bolt.

12. Tighten rear mounting bolt and nut to 131-185 Nm.
Repeat procedure to tighten opposite side rear mounting
bolt and nut.

13. Connect steering rack transducer harness front connector.
Connect steering ha rness connector.
Install harness connector on body retaining clip.
14. Slacken adjuster nut and remove camber tie down tool 204-
114 from suspension.
Repeat procedure to remove tie down tool from opposite
side.

14. Remove undertray from vehicle.

15. Position camber tie down special tool 204-114 on suspension.
Fully slacken tool adjuster nut.
Position tool in road spring and pass upper dowel through
slot in suspen sion turret.
16. Lower front of vehicle.

17. Rotate stem of special tool 204-114 to locate dowel in
suspension turret slot.
18. Lower front of vehicle.

19. WARNING: WHEN TIGHTENING TOOL NUT, USE LOWER
DOWEL AS A GUIDE TO ENSURE THAT THE TOOL STEM DOES
NOT ROTATE AND DISTURB POSITION OF DOWEL IN
SUSPENSION TURRET.
Tighten nut of special tool 204-114 to full extent, to achieve
suspension mid-laden position.
20. Raise front of vehicle and support on stands. refer to Section
100-02.

31. CAUTION: Slowly lower the crossbeam just sufficient to
provide the required clearance. Lowering the crossbeam
excessively can damage the suspension and steering pipes.
Carefully lower crossbeam to provide sufficient clearance
between front mounting and body.

32. Remove and discard heatshield from front mounting.

1. Install new heatshield over front mounting.
2. NOTE: It may be necessary to use a hammer and drift to
finally align new mounting with body location.
Carefully raise crossbeam assembly into position.
Ensure that dowels of both crossbeam mountings are

Repeat procedure to install crossbeam opposite side bolt.

12. Tighten rear mounting bolt and nut to 131-185 Nm.
Repeat procedure to tighten opposite side rear mounting
bolt and nut.

13. Connect steering rack transducer harness front connector.
Connect steering ha rness connector.
Install harness connector on body retaining clip.
14. Slacken adjuster nut and remove camber tie down tool 204-
114 from suspension.
Repeat procedure to remove tie down tool from opposite
side.

12. Remove undertray from vehicle.
13. Remove both front road wheels. Refer to Section 204-04.
14. Remove both front road springs. Refer to 60. 20.02.

15. Disconnect wheel speed sensor harness connectors.
1. Sever and discard tiestr aps securing front wheel
speed sensor harness to upper wishbone.
2. Disconnect harness connector from sensor.
Repeat procedure to disconnect opposite side wheel speed
sensor harness.

16. CAUTION: Do not suspend caliper from brake hose as
this will damage the hose.
Remove brake calipers from carriers.
1. Remove caliper spring clip.
2. Remove guide pin dust caps.
3. Slacken and withdraw guide pins.
4. Remove caliper from carrier and tie to suspension mounting bracket.
Repeat procedure to remove opposite side front brake
caliper.
17. Remove filler cap from power steering fluid reservoir.

34. CAUTION: To prevent damage to ball joints, secure
each hub assembly to suspensi on turret using strong wire.
Remove lower securing nut and bolt from front shock absorber.
Repeat procedure to remove securing bolt from opposite
side shock absorber.

35. Remove crossbeam rear securing bolts.
Remove securing bolt from crossbeam LH rear mounting.
Repeat procedure to remove securing bolt from crossbeam RH rear mounting.
36. Ensure that steering transducer harness is clear of return pipe
and LH side body.
37. Lower and traverse front suspension assembly clear of
vehicle.
38. With assistance, lift front suspension as sembly onto bench.

39. Remove nut securing tie rod oute r ball joint to steering arm.
Repeat procedure to opposite side tie rod ball joint.
40. Release tie rod ball joint from steering arm.

1. Fit special tool 211-098 to tie rod ball joint.
2. Tighten tool bolt to release ball joint taper pin.
3. Remove tool and release tie rod from steering arm.
Repeat procedure to release opposite side tie rod ball
joint.

41. Remove steering harness fr om LH suspension turret.
Release harness securing clip s from suspension turret.
Mark position of clips on harness.
Remove tape securing clips to harness and discard clips.

42. Disconnect and remove steering harness.
Disconnect harness connector from transducer.
Remove harness from suspension assembly.

43. Remove steering rack from crossbeam.
1. Remove steering rack securing bolts.
2. Remove steering rack and mounting brackets.
44. Release stabilizer bar from link arms.
1. Remove link arm to stabilizer bar securing nut.
2. Release stabilizer bar from link arm.
Repeat procedure to release opposite end of stabilizer bar

11. Install steering rack on crossbeam.
Ensure that bushes are correct ly positioned on steering
rack.
Position steering rack on crossbeam.
Position support brac kets over bushes.
Install mounting bracket bolt s and tighten to 41-54Nm.

12. Install tie rods on steering arms.
Position and fully seat tie rod ball joint taper pin on
steering arm.
Install tie rod ball joint nu t and tighten to 71-85Nm.
Repeat procedure to install opposite side tie rod ball joint.

13. Install steering harness on suspension turret.
Noting positions marked during removal, tape new
securing clips to st eering harness.
Install securing clips/harness on LH turret.
14. With assistance position crossbeam/suspension assembly on
jack with protective wood under.
15. Traverse assembly into position below vehicle.
16. Ensure steering harn ess connector is positioned to avoid
damage during crossbeam lift .
17. NOTE: It may be necessary to use a hammer and drift to
finally align new mounting with body location.

6. Remove both mounting brac kets from the suspension
subframe.
1. Remove bush center bolt from bracket.
2. Remove bolts securi ng bracket to body.
Remove bracket.
Following the same procedure, remove bracket on
opposite side.
7. To permit access, lower jack approximately 25 mm.

8. Remove and retain spacer from top of each bush.

9. Remove bolts securing link assemblies to suspension subframe.
1. Remove bolt.
2. Ensure spacer remain s captive in bracket.
Following the same procedure, remove bolt from opposite
side of subframe.
10. With assistance to support su bframe, remove the subframe
center to differential casing bolts.

11. Remove subframe from vehicle.
12. Clean relevant components and mating faces.

1. With assistance fit suspension subframe to vehicle.
Position subframe on vehi cle, ensuring that fuel
evaporation pipe is not trapped.
Install but do not tighten sub frame center to differential
casing bolts.

2. Install link assemblies to suspension subframe bolts
1. Ensure spacer is in position.
2. Install but do not tighten bolt.
Following the same procedure, in stall bolt on opposite side
of subframe.

3. Install but do not tighten subframe front to differential bracket
nuts and bolts
4. Install and tighten sub frame to differential rear bracket bolts to
88-118Nm.
