b. Turn the control shaft lever of the neutral start switch counterclockwise until it stops, and turn it
clockwise 2 notches to set it to the N position.
c. Move the shift lever to the N position and tighten the nut while lightly pushing the lever toward the
R position.
d. After adjustment, check that the shift lever moves smoothly and the shift lever and gear operate
correctl
y.

BLEEDING
HINT:
If any work is performed on the brake system or if air in the brake lines is suspected, bleed the air out of the
brake system.
1.FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID
Fluid: SAE J1703 or FMVSS No. 116 DOT3

2.BLEED MASTER CYLINDER

If the master cylinder has been disassembled or if the reservoir becomes empty, bleed the air out of
the master cylinder.
To avoid brake fluid from adhering, cover the painted surface with cloth.
a. Disconnect the 2 brake lines from the master cylinder.

b. Slowly depress the brake pedal and hold it.
c. Cover the 2 outer holes with fingers, and release the brake pedal.
d. Repeat (b) and (c) 3 or 4 times.
e. Connect the brake lines to the master cylinder.

Torque: 15 N.m (155 kgf.cm, 11 ft.lbf)
3.BLEED BRAKE LINE
a. Connect the vinyl tube to the bleeder plug.
b. Depress the brake pedal several times, then loosen the bleeder plug with the pedal depressed.

c. When fluid stops coming out, tighten the bleeder plug, then release the brake pedal.
d. Repeat (b) and (c) until all the air in the fluid is completely bled out.
e. Tighten the bleeder plug completely.
Torque: 11 N.m (110 kgf.cm, 8 ft.lbf)
f. Repeat the above procedures for each wheel to bleed the air out of the brake line.

4.BLEED ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY
a. Depress the brake pedal more than 20 times with the i
gnition switch off.

b. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3, then turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
c. Turn the hand-held tester power on and select "AIR BLEEDING" on the screen.
d. Perform air bleeding according to "Step 1: Increase" on the hand-held tester display.
