<Using the driver’s side electric tailgateswitch>zThe operation mode is in ON with theelectrical parking switch is pressed.zThe electric tailgate is completely closed.zThe electric tailgate is unlocked.
<Using the open switch of the electric tail-gate>zThe electric tailgate is unlocked.zThe keyless operation key is within theoperating range (70 cm from the electrictailgate switch) and the tailgate is locked.The factory setting is “Inactive”.To m o d i f y t h e s e t t i n g t o “ A c t i v e ” , p l e a s econtact an authorised MITSUBISHIMOTORS dealer.

zRepeated continuous operation betweenopening and closing the electric tailgate willactivate the built-in protection circuit andswitch the tailgate to manual operation.CAUTION
zIf the electric tailgate handle is operatedwhile the tailgate is operating or immedi-ately after it is closed, the tailgate will movein the direction opposite to the one in whichit was operating.zIf the battery or fuse is replaced while theelectric tailgate is open, it cannot be closedautomatically.In this case close the electric tailgate manu-ally.

If the open switch is pressed with the tailgateand all doors are unlocked, the electric tail-gate opens after the warning buzzer sounds 4times and the hazard warning flasher brinks 2times.When the tailgate and all doors are locked,the warning buzzer will not sound.
The electric tailgate can be closed by pressingthe close switch (D) on the inside of the elec-tric tailgate.If the close switch on the inside of the electrictailgate is pressed, the electric tailgate closesafter the warning buzzer sounds 3 times andthe hazard warning flasher brinks 2 times.If the close switch is pressed once while thetailgate is closing, the warning buzzer soundsonce and the electric tailgate opens.

The safety mechanism is activated if the elec-tric tailgate should trap a person or an objectduring automatic operation, or if the sensors(A) on either side of the electric tailgate arehit. The warning buzzer sounds once forsafety and the electric tailgate automaticallymoves in the direction opposite to the one inwhich it was operating.

zWhen you are carrying the keyless operationkey with the tailgate is locked, the electrictailgate can be opene

Closing the electric tailgate using the close switch

After the electric tailgate is opened automati-cally, if it is detected that the tailgate is drop-ping due to factors such as accumulatedsnow, the electric tailgate is closed automati-cally.A warning buzzer sounds continuously whilethe drop prevention mechanism operates.If the engine is started while the electric tail-gate is operating automatically, it may switchto manual operation due to insufficient bat-tery voltage, making the electric tailgate stopintermittently while it moves. This is to stop
the electric tailgate from operating suddenly.When the tailgate is completely closed oropened, automatic operation is again possibleafter approximately 10 seconds.

If an unlawful opening of any of the doors,tailgate or bonnet is detected during the sys-tem armed mode, the alarm will be activatedto warn people around the vehicle of anabnormal condition.Inside alarm (approx. 10 seconds):

Outside alarm (approx. 30 seconds):

If a person who is unfamiliar with the secu-rity alarm system accidentally unlocked thevehicle, causing the alarm to sound, thealarm would be a nuisance to people nearby.
