SPEED LIMITER
System which prevents the vehicle from
e x c e e d i n g t h e s p e e d p r o g r a m m e d b y
the driver.
When the programmed speed limit is
reached, pressing the accelerator pedal
no longer has any effect. The controls of this system are grouped
together on stalk A .

The speed limiter cannot, in any
circumstances, replace the need
to respect speed limits, nor can it
replace the need for vigilance and
responsibility on the part of the
driver.
The speed limiter is
switched on man-
ually: it requires a programmed speed
of at least 20 mph (30 km/h).
The speed limiter is switched off by
manual operation of the control.
T h e p r o g r a m m e d s p e e d c a n b e e x -
ceeded temporarily by pressing the ac-
c e l e r a t o r fi r m l y .
To return to the programmed speed,
simply slow down to a speed below the
programmed speed.
The programmed speed remains in the
memory when the ignition is switched
off.

On a steep descent or in the event
of sharp acceleration, the speed
limiter will not be able to prevent
t h e v e h i c l e f r o m e x c e e d i n g t h e p r o -
grammed speed.
To avoid any risk of jamming of the
pedals:
- ensure that the mat is positioned correctly,
- d o n o t fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f another.
Programming
Turn dial 1 to the "LIMIT" position:
the speed limiter mode is selected
but is not switched on (OFF).
You do not have to switch the speed
limiter on in order to set the speed.
Exceeding the programmed speed
P r e s s i n g t h e a c c e l e r a t o r p e d a l t o e x c e e d t h e p r o g r a m m e d
speed will not have any effect unless you press the pedal
fi r m l y past the point of resistance .
The speed limiter is deactivated temporarily and the pro-
g r a m m e d s p e e d , w h i c h i s s t i l l d i s p l a y e d , fl a s h e s .
Returning to the programmed speed, by means of intention-
al or unintentional deceleration of the vehicle, au tomatically
c a n c e l s t h e fl a s h i n g o f t h e p r o g r a m m e d s p e e d .
Return to normal driving
Turn dial 1 to the "0" position: the speed limiter mode is
deselected. The display returns to the distance rec order. Operating fault
In the event of a speed limiter malfunc-
tion, the speed is cleared resulting in
fl a s h i n g o f t h e d a s h e s .
Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer.
Switch the speed limiter off by pressing button 4 : the
d i s p l a y c o n fi r m s t h a t i t h a s b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f ( O F F ) .
Switch the speed limiter back on by pressing button 4
again.
Set the speed value by pressing button 2 or 3 (e.g.: 55 mph
(90 km/h)).
You can then change the programmed speed using buttons
2 and 3 :
- by + or - 1 mph (km/h) = short press,
- by + or - 5 mph (km/h) = long press,
- in steps of + or - 5 mph (km/h) = maintained press.
Switch the speed limiter on by pressing button 4 .

CRUISE CONTROL
System which automatically maintains
the speed of the vehicle at the value
programmed by the driver, without any
action on the accelerator pedal.
The cruise control is switched on
manually: it requires a minimum vehicle
speed of 25 mph (40 km/h) and the en-
gaging:
- of fourth gear on the manual g e a r b o x ,
- of second gear on the piloted manual g e a r b o x o r a u t o m a t i c g e a r b o x , i n
sequential driving mode,
- of position A on the piloted manual
g e a r b o x o r D on the automatic
g e a r b o x . The controls of this system are grouped
together on lever
A .

The cruise control is
switched off
manually or by pressing the brake or
clutch pedal or on triggering of the ESP
system for safety reasons.
I t i s p o s s i b l e t o e x c e e d t h e p r o g r a m m e d
speed temporarily by pressing the ac-
celerator pedal.
To return to the programmed speed,
simply release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition cancels any
programmed speed value.

When the cruise control is switched
on, be careful if you maintain the
pressure on one of the programmed
speed changing buttons: this may
result in a very rapid change in the
speed of your vehicle.
Do not use the cruise control on
s l i p p e r y r o a d s o r i n h e a v y t r a f fi c .

then press button 2 or 3 (e.g.: 70 mph
(110 km/h)).
Switch off the cruise control by pressing button 4 : the
d i s p l a y c o n fi r m s t h a t i t h a s b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f ( O F F ) .
Switch the cruise control back on by pressing button 4
again.
You can then change the programmed speed using buttons
2 and 3 :
- by + or - 1 mph (km/h) = short press,
- by + or - 5 mph (km/h) = long press,
- in steps of + or - 5 mph (km/h) = maintained press.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM
System which detects the involuntary
c r o s s i n g o f l o n g i t u d i n a l t r a f fi c l a n e
markings on the ground (continuous or
discontinuous line).
S e n s o r s , fi t t e d b e l o w t h e f r o n t b u m p e r ,
trigger a warning if the vehicle drifts
(speed higher than 50 mph (80 km/h).
This system operates to its full potential
above all when used on motorways and
main roads. The lane departure warning sys-
tem cannot, in any circumstances,
replace the need for vigilance and
responsibility on the part of the
driver. Deactivation
Press button A again, the indicator
light switches off.
Activation
Press button A , the indicator light
comes on.
Operating fault
If the indicator light on the button switches
off while the system is active, this indicates
a malfunction.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
The detection may be disrupted:
- if the sensors are dirty (mud, snow, ...),
- if the markings on the ground are worn,
- if there is little contrast between the markings on the ground and
the road surface.
Detection
You are warned by the vibration of the
driver's seat cushion:
- on the right-hand side, if the marking
on the ground has been crossed on
the right,
- on the left-hand side, if the marking on the ground has been crossed on
the left.
No warning is transmitted while the
direction indicator is active and for
a p p r o x i m a t e l y 2 0 s e c o n d s a f t e r t h e d i -
rection indicator is switched off.
A warning may be transmitted if a direc-
tion marking (arrow) or non-standard
m a r k i n g ( g r a f fi t i ) i s c r o s s e d .
The status of the system remains
in the memory when the ignition is
switched off.

VISUAL AND AUDIBLE FRONT AND/OR REAR PARKING ASSISTANCE
S y s t e m c o n s i s t i n g o f f o u r p r o x i m i t y s e n -
sors, installed in the front and/or rear
bumper.
It detects any obstacle (person, vehicle,
tree, barrier...) located behind the vehi-
cle, however, it will not be able to detect
obstacles located immediately below
the bumper. The parking assistance is
switched
on :
- by engaging reverse gear,
- at a speed below 6 mph (10 km/h) in forward gear.
This is accompanied by an audible sig-
nal and/or displaying of the vehicle on
the multifunction display.
An object, such as a stake, a road-
works cone or any other similar
object may be detected at the start
of the manoeuvre but may no long-
er be detected when the vehicle
moves nearer to it. T h e p r o x i m i t y i n f o r m a t i o n i s i n d i c a t e d
by:
- an audible signal which becomes
more rapid as the vehicle approaches
the obstacle,
- a diagram on the multifunction display, with blocks which move
closer to the vehicle.
The obstacle is located in relation to the
emission of the audible signal by the
speakers; front or rear and right or left.
When the distance between the vehicle
a n d t h e o b s t a c l e i s l e s s t h a n a p p r o x i -
m a t e l y t w e n t y - fi v e c e n t i m e t r e s , t h e a u -
dible signal becomes continuous and/or
the "Danger" symbol appears, depend-
ing on the multifunction display version.
The parking assistance system
cannot, in any circumstances, re-
place the need for vigilance and
responsibility on the part of the
driver.
The parking assistance is
switched
off :
- w h e n y o u e x i t r e v e r s e g e a r ,
- when the speed is higher than 6 mph (10 km/h) in forward gear,
- when the vehicle has been stationary for more than three seconds in
forward gear.

Deactivation Operating fault
The system will be deactivated au-
tomatically when a trailer is being
towed or when a bicycle carrier is
fi t t e d ( v e h i c l e fi t t e d w i t h a t o w b a r
or bicycle carrier recommended by
PEUGEOT ).
Reactivation
Press button A again, the warning
light switches off, the system is
reactivated.
Press button A , the warning light
comes on, the system is fully
deactivated. In bad weather or in winter, ensure
that the sensors are not covered with
mud, ice or snow. When reverse gear
is engaged, an audible signal (long
beep) indicates that the sensors may
be dirty. If an operating fault occurs, this
warning light is displayed on the
instrument panel and/or a mes-
sage appears on the multifunc-
tion display, accompanied by an audible
signal (short beep), when reverse gear
is engaged.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

BONNET
Protects the components of the engine
and provides access for checking levels.
P u s h t h e e x t e r i o r c o n t r o l B to the left
and raise the bonnet.
Unclip the strut C from its housing.
F i x t h e s t r u t i n t h e n o t c h t o h o l d t h e
bonnet open. Closing
Take the strut out of the support
notch.
Clip the strut in its housing.
Lower the bonnet and release it at
the end of its travel.
Pull on the bonnet to check that it is
secured correctly.
Opening
Open the front left door.
Pull the interior control A , located at
the bottom of the door frame. The location of the interior control
prevents opening of the bonnet
while the front left door is closed.

RUNNING OUT OF FUEL (DIESEL)
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a n H D I e n -
gine, the fuel circuit must be reprimed if
you run out of fuel.
This system consists of a repriming
pump, a transparent pipe and a degas
screw under the bonnet (refer to the
corresponding graphic).
1.6 litre Turbo HDI 16V engine
F i l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t fi v e l i -
tres of diesel.
Open the bonnet.
Unclip the style cover to gain access
to the repriming pump.
Squeeze and release the repriming
pump until fuel appears in the trans-
parent pipe with the green connec-
tor.
Operate the starter until the engine
starts.
Put the style cover back in position
and clip it in place.
Close the bonnet. 2 litre Turbo HDI 16V engine
F i l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t fi v e l i -
tres of diesel.
Open the bonnet.
Unclip the style cover to gain access
to the repriming pump.
Slacken the degas screw.
Squeeze and release the repriming
pump until fuel appears in the trans-
parent pipe with the green connec-
tor.
Retighten the degas screw.
Operate the starter until the engine
starts.
Put the style cover back in position
and clip it in place.
Close the bonnet.
If the engine does not start at the
fi r s t a t t e m p t , d o n o t t r y a g a i n .
Operate the repriming pump again,
then the starter. If the engine does not start at the
fi r s t a t t e m p t , d o n o t t r y a g a i n .
Operate the repriming pump again,
then the starter.
