Warranty coverage isnot dependent
upon theuse ofany particular brandof
replacement partsandyoumay elect to
use non-Genuine ToyotaPartsfor
maintenance andrepairs. However, use
of replacement partsthatarenot
equivalent inquality toGenuine Toyota
Parts mayimpair theeffectiveness ofthe
emission controlsystems.
If you usereplacement partsthathave
maintenance orreplacement schedules
different fromthose ofGenuine Toyota
Parts, youmust follow themaintenance
and replacement schedulesforthe parts
you areusing. Inaddition, youshould
ensure thatsuch parts arewarranted by

AN EMISSIONS TEST
Ifyour vehicle failsanEPA-approved
emissions test,youmay make aclaim
under theEmission Performance Warranty.
To do so, take your vehicle toan
authorized Toyotadealership andpresent a
copy ofthe emissions testreport. Also,
take your maintenance recordsincase
they areneeded.
If your claim qualifies forcoverage, the
dealership willrepair yourvehicle within
30 days (unless ashorter periodis
required bylaw). Ifyour claim isdenied,
Toyota willnotify youinwriting ofthe
reason withinthesame period. Ifwe fail
to do so, wewill repair yourvehicle free
of charge. Theonly exceptions allowedare
when yourequest oragree toadelay, or

2014 vehicle. InCalifornia, newmotor
vehicles mustbedesigned, builtand
equipped tomeet thestate’s stringent
anti-smog standards. CARBregulations
require thatToyota mustwarrant the
emission controlsystem onyour vehicle
for the time periods indicated onthe next
page, provided therehasbeen noabuse,
neglect orimproper maintenance ofyour
vehicle.
Your emission controlsystem mayinclude
parts suchasthe fuel injection system,
ignition system, catalytic converter and
engine computer. Alsoincluded maybe
hoses, belts,connectors andother
emissions-related assemblies.
Where awarrantable conditionexists,
