This message appears if you would like to switch
adapt ive cruise control on and there is a station­
ary object or obstacle directly ahead of your vehi­
cle .
Audi active Lane assist
(Lane departure assist)
Description
A ppl ies to: ve hicles w ith Audi active lane assist
Active lane ass ist detects lane marker lines with­
in the l imits of the system us ing a camera in the
windshie ld. If you are approaching a detected
lane marker line and it appears likely t hat you
will leave the lane , the system will warn you with
correct ive steering . You can override t his steer ing
at any time. If you pass over a line, the steering
wheel will vibrate lightly . In order for this warn­
ing vibration to occur, it must first be sw itched
on in the Infotainment system. Act ive lane assist
is ready for operation when the lane marker line
is detected on at least one side of the vehicle.
The system is designed for driving on express­
ways and h ighways and therefore only activates
at speeds above approximately 40 mph (65 km/
h) .
App lies to veh icles with side assist
If you activate a turn signa l when active lane as­
sist is ready and it class ifies a lane change as crit­
ical because of veh icles traveling alongside you or
approaching you, there will be noticeable correc ­
tive steering shortly before you leave the lane .
This will attempt to keep your vehicle in the lane.
A pp lies to veh icles witho ut s ide ass ist
The system will not warn you before crossing a
lane marker line if you have activated the turn
signal. In this case, it assumes that you are
changing lanes intent io nally.

The corrective steering is targeted based on the
driving situation. In addition to the lane marker
li nes, the system can also take into account other
ob jects such as guard rails. If they are detected in
close prox imity to the ve hicle, active lane assist
helps prevent the vehicle from dr iving too close
to them . There is also pass ing ass istance. The
system does not provide any corrective steering if
i t detects that you are pass ing anothe r vehicle.
.&_ WARNING
- The system warns the drive r that the vehicle
is leaving the lane us ing correct ive steering.
The drive r is always responsible for keeping
the vehicle within the lane.
- The system can assist the dr iver in keeping
the vehicle in the lane, but it does not drive
by itself. A lways keep your hands on the
steer ing whee l.
- Corrective steering may not occur in certain
situations, such as during heavy braking.
- There may be cases where the camera does
not recognize all lane marker lines . Cor rec­
tive stee ring can only take place on the side
of the vehicle where lane marker lines are
detected.
- Other road structures or objects could poss i­
bly be identified un intent ionally as lane
marker lines. As a result, corrective steering
may be unexpected o r may not occ ur.
- The camera view can be restricted, for ex­
ample by vehicles driving ahead or by ra in,
snow, heavy spray or lig ht shining into the
camera. This can resul t in active lane ass ist
no t de tecting the lane marker lines or de­
tect ing them in co rrectly .
- Unde r ce rtain cond it ions su ch as r uts in the
ro ad, a ban ke d roadway or crosswin ds, the
corrective s teer ing alone may not be enough
to keep the vehicle in the m iddle of the lane.
- For safety reasons, a ct ive lane assis t must
no t be use d when there are poor road and/
or weather conditions such as slippery
roads, fog, gravel, heavy rain, snow and the potential for hydrop laning. Using active lane
assist under these cond it ions may increase
the r isk of a crash.

If condit io ns are b right enough, night vision as­
sis t can be sw itched on withou t mov ing the light
switch to the
AUTO position. Pedestrian and wild
an imal highlighting and warnings are only active
when it is da rk outs ide and the headlights are
sw itched on .
Adjusting the contrast
Applies to: vehicles with night vision assist
• Select : the ICARI function button > Car systems
contro l button > Driver a ssist > Night vision
a ssi st cont rast .
When the night vision assist is switched on and
the image is visible in the instrument cluster d is ­
p lay, you can adjust the contrast in the image
from
Min to Ma x.

D rive select makes it possib le to exper ience dif­
f erent types of ve hicle settings in one veh icle .
The dr iver can se lect
Comfort , Auto and Dynamic
modes in the Infotainment system to switch be­
tween, for example, a sporty and a comfortab le
driv ing mode .
You can adjust the vehicle settings to your per ­
sona l preferences in the
Ind ividual mode . This
makes it possible to comb ine sett ings su ch as a
sporty engine setting with light steer ing .
Description
The following systems, among ot her things, are
i nfluenced by dr ive select:
Eng ine and tr an smis sion
Depend ing on the mode, th e engine and trans­
mission respond more q uick ly or in a more bal­
a nced manner to accelerator pedal movements.
In the sporty dynamic mode, the transm ission
shifts at higher speed ranges.
Air suspen sion
T he adaptive air suspens ion/adapt ive a ir suspen­

General information
Applies to: vehicles with parking system plus/rearview cam­
era/peripheral camera
Depending on your vehicle's equipment , various
parking aids will help you when parking and ma­
neuvering.
The
parking system plus assists you when park­
ing by audibly and visually indicating objects de­
tected in front of and behind the vehicle
¢page 115.
The rearview camera shows the area behind the
vehicle in the Infotainment system display. This
display assists you when you are cross or parallel parking
¢ page 116. The parking system plus
functions are also available
¢ page 115.
The peripheral cameras give various views to
help you when parking or maneuvering
¢ page 119. The parking system plus functions
are also available
¢page 115.
& WARNING
-Always look for traffic and check the area
around your vehicle by looking at it directly
as well. The parking system cannot replace
the driver's attention. The driver is always
responsible when entering or leaving a park­
ing space and during similar maneuvers .
- Please note that some surfaces , such as
clothing, are not detected by the system .
- Sensors and cameras have blind spots in
which people and objects cannot be detect­
ed . Be especially cautious of small children
and animals .
- The sensors can be displaced by impacts or
damage to the radiator gr ille, bumper,
wheel housing and the underbody . The park­
ing system may be impaired as a result.
Have an authorized Audi dealer or author­
ized Audi Service Facility check their func­
tion .
- Make sure the sensors are not obstructed by
stickers, deposits or other materials. If they
are, the sensor function could be impaired.

-Some objects are not detected or displayed
by the system under certain circumstances:
- Objects such as barrier chains, trailer draw
bars, vertical poles or fences
- Objects above the sensors such as wall ex ­
tensions
- Objects with certain surfaces or structures
such as chain link fences or powder snow
- If you continue driving closer to a low ob­
ject, it may disappear from the sensor range. Note that you will no longer be
warned about th is obstacle.
(D Tips
- The system may provide a warning even
though there are no obstacles in the cover­
age area in some situations, such as:
- certain road surfaces or when there is tall
grass.
- external ultrasonic sources such as from cleaning vehicles .
- in heavy rain, snow, or thick vehicle ex­
haust.
- We recommend that you practice parking in
a traffic -free location or parking lot to be­
come familiar with the system . When doing
this, there should be good light and weath­
er conditions.
- You can change the volume and pitch of the
signals as well as the display¢
page 124.
-Please refer to the instructions for towing a
trailer located in
¢page 124.
-What appears in the infotainment display is
somewhat time-delayed.
- The sensors must be kept clean and free of
snow and ice for park aid to operate .

- For objects that do not touch the ground,
such as the bumper of a parked vehicle, a
trailer hitch or the rear of a truck. Do not
use the orientation lines in this case.

cline, or a downward slope.
- If driven toward protruding objects.
- If the vehicle is carrying too much load in
the rear.
- The accuracy of the orientation lines and
blue surfaces decreases when the vehicle is

The long side of the blue area should be on the curb. The entire blue area must fit into the
parking space.

Parking next to obstacles
If there is an obstacle (s uch as a wall) nex t to t he
parking sp ace, posi tion the veh icle so there is
more sp ace on that side. Position the long side o f
the b lue surface so that there is s ufficient space
from the obstacle. The surface must not be
touching . You will a lso need to start turning the
steering wheel earlier. The bl ue curve

must not touch the obstacle, but rather there
should be enough distance .

@ Tips
The left or ri ght orientation lines and surfaces
w ill be displayed, depending on the turn sig­
nal being used.
