WHAT IS KEYLESS ENTRY
The system allows you to lock and unlockyour vehicle without taking the passive keyout of your pocket or purse.
KEYLESS ENTRY LIMITATIONS
Make sure your remote control is within 3 ft(1 m) from the front door handles and thetailgate.
The system could not function if:
•The remote control remains stationaryfor about a minute.
•The vehicle battery has no charge.
•The remote control battery has nocharge.
•There is interference causing issueswith the remote control frequencies.
•The remote control is too close tometal objects or electronic devices, forexample keys or a cell phone.
KEYLESS ENTRY SETTINGS
Switching Keyless Entry On andOff
1.Switch the ignition on using an originalkey that has not been created as aMyKey.
2.Press Settings on the touchscreen.
3.Press Vehicle Settings.
4.Press Locks.
Reprogramming the UnlockingFunction
You can enable two-stage unlockingfunction allowing you to unlock only thedriver door when you touch the unlocksensor.
Press and hold both the lock and unlockbuttons on the remote control for fourseconds to disable or enable two-stageunlocking.
If you program the unlocking function sothat only the driver door unlocks, you canunlock all of the other doors from insideyour vehicle using the power door lockcontrol. You can unlock individual doorsby pulling the interior door handles onthose doors.
USING KEYLESS ENTRY
Unlocking the Doors
With your passive key within 3 ft (1 m) ofyour vehicle, touch the unlock sensor onthe back of the door handle for a briefperiod and then pull on the door handle tounlock, being careful not to touch the locksensor at the same time or pull on the doorhandle too quickly. The intelligent accesssystem requires a brief delay toauthenticate your passive key.

With your passive key within 3 ft (1 m) ofyour vehicle, touch the outer door handlelock sensor for approximately one secondto lock, being careful not to touch theunlock sensor on the back of the doorhandle at the same time. After locking, youcan immediately pull on the door handleto confirm locking occurred withoutinadvertently unlocking.

Why does the keyless entry system notfunction?
If the system does not function it maybe limited. See Keyless EntryLimitations (page 108). If the systemstill does not function use the remotecontrol or the key blade to lock andunlock your vehicle.
Why can I not lock my vehicle?
If you electronically lock your vehiclewith a rear door or the tailgate open,the system searches for a passive keyinside your vehicle after you close thelast door. If the system detects a key,all doors unlock indicating that a keyis inside. Your vehicle locks if anotherpassive key is within the detectionrange after you close the last door.

What Is the Master Access Code
The master access code is a factory-setfive-digit entry code. You can operate thekeypad with the master access code atany time. The master access code is on theowner’s wallet card in the glove box andis available from an authorized dealer.

Programming a Personal EntryCode
1.Enter the five-digit master code.
2.Press 1·2 on the keypad within fiveseconds.
3.Enter your personal five-digit code.You must do this within five secondsof completing Step 2.
4.Press 1·2 on the keypad to savepersonal code 1.
The doors lock then unlock to confirm thatprogramming was successful.
To program additional personal entrycodes, repeat Steps 1 through 3, then forStep 4:
•Press 3·4 to save personal code 2.
•Press 5·6 to save personal code 3.
•Press 7·8 to save personal code 4.
•Press 9·0 to save personal code 5.
If your vehicle comes with SYNC, you canalso program the system with a personalentry code.
Hints:
•Do not set a code that uses five of thesame number.
•Do not use five numbers in sequentialorder.
•The five-digit master code works evenif you have set your own personal code.

All personal codes erase and only thefive-digit master code works.
Anti-Scan Feature
The keypad goes into an anti-scan modeif you enter the wrong code seven times.This mode turns off the keypad for oneminute and the keypad lamp flashes.
The anti-scan feature turns off after:
•One minute of keypad inactivity.
•You press the unlock button on theremote control.
•You switch the ignition on.
•You unlock your vehicle using keylessentry.

WARNING: The tailgate is heavy.Removal of the tailgate requires twoadults. Failure to follow this instructioncould result in personal injury or propertydamage.
Note:Skip to Step 4 if your vehicle doesnot have power door locks.
1.Unlatch the tailgate.
2.Disconnect the power door locks in-lineconnector. It is under the pickup boxon the right-hand side of the vehiclenear the spare tire.
3.Install a protective cap on the in-lineconnector portion that remains underthe pickup box.
Note: A protective cap should be in theglove compartment.
4.Partially lower the tailgate. Carefullyfeed the tailgate harness up throughthe gap between the pickup box andthe bumper and place it out of the wayunder the pickup box.
5.Lower the tailgate.
6.Use a screwdriver to gently pry thespring clip on each connector past thehead of the support screw. Disconnectthe cable.
7.Disconnect the other cable.
8.Lift the tailgate to 45 degrees from thehorizontal position.
9.Lift the right-hand side off its hinge.
10.Lift the tailgate to 80 degrees fromthe horizontal position.
11.Remove the tailgate from theleft-hand side hinge by sliding it tothe right.
12.Install the tailgate in reverse order.

Integrated Tailgate Step
1.Lower the tailgate.
2.Push the button in the center of thestep molding. The step pops outslightly.

3.Pull the step out fully. Lower the stepto its lowest position.
4.Pull the yellow handle stop backwardout of the tailgate until it fully extends.
5.To lock the handle in place, rotate thehandle up from the horizontal to thevertical position until you hear a click.
Note:Do not tow with the step or grabhandle.
Replace the slip resistance tape or grabhandle molding if it appears as worn ordamaged.
To reduce the risk of falling:
•Only operate the step when yourvehicle is on a level surface.
•Only operate the step in areas withsufficient lighting.
•Make sure you use the grab handlewhen climbing on the step.
•Do not use the step with bare feet.
•Make sure the step is clean before use.
•Keep the step load below the totalmaximum load of 350 lb (159 kg).
STOWING THE TAILGATE STEP
1.Press the yellow button on the handleto lower and then press the yellowlever at the bottom of the handle tounlock. Rotate the handle down fromthe vertical to the horizontal positionand push it into the tailgate.
2.Rotate the step up until it is horizontal,then push it back into the tailgate untilthe step is secure.
Note:Make sure to close and fully latch thestep before moving your vehicle. Do notdrive with the step or grab handle open.
Note:The power tailgate cannot close ifthe step is open. A warning messageappears and a tone sounds. After stowingthe step the power close function isrestored.
BED EXTENDER (IF EQUIPPED)

Note:Do not use the bed extender whendriving off road.
Note:Make sure to engage the locking pinsand knobs fully before driving your vehicle.
Note:Make sure to secure all cargo.
Note:Do not exceed 150 lb (68 kg) on thetailgate when your vehicle is moving.
Note:Do not keep the bed extender in thetailgate mode when you are not using it forrestraining cargo. Always keep the bedextender in the grocery mode or the stowedposition with the tailgate closed.

USING THE BED EXTENDER
1.Pull the locking pin toward the centerof your vehicle.
2.Open the latches to release the panels.
3.Rotate the panels toward the tailgate.Repeat steps 1-3 on the other side ofyour vehicle.

4.Connect the two panels. Rotate bothknobs one-quarter turn clockwise tosecure the panels.
5.Insert the latch rod into the tailgatehole.
6.Engage both sides of the locking pinsinto their holes in the pick-up box.
Grocery Mode
1.Follow steps 1-4.
2.Before engaging the locking pins, rotatethe panels away from the tailgate.
3.Engage both sides of the locking pinsinto their holes in the pick-up box.
4.Close the tailgate.
