B510D01HP-DAT OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR HEATER (If installed) The outside rearview mirror heater is actuated in connection with the rearwindow demister. To heat the outside rearview mirror glass, push in the switch for the rear window demister. The rear-view mirror glass will be heated for defrosting or defogging and will give you improved rear vision in inclementweather conditions. Push the switch again to turn the heater off. The outside rearview mirror heater automaticallyturns itself off after 20 minutes. B510C01A-AAT FOLDING THE OUTSIDE REAR- VIEW MIRRORS To fold the outside rearview mirrors, push them towards the rear.The outside rearview mirrors can be folded rearward for parking in narrow areas.
WARNING:
Do not adjust or fold the outside rearview mirrors while the vehicle is moving. This could result in loss of control, and an accident causingdeath, serious injury or property damage.

DAY/NIGHT INSIDE REAR- VIEW MIRROR

3. Setting the compass zone 1. Determine the Zone Number based
on your current location in the Zone Map.
2. Press and hold the button for more than 6 but less than 9 seconds. Thecurrent zone number will appear inthe display.
3. Release then press the button to
increment to your Zone Number.

CAUTION:
1. Do not install the ski rack, an- tenna, etc. which are attached to the vehicle by means of a magnet.They affect the operation of the compass.
2. If the compass deviates from the
correct indication soon after re-peated adjustment, have the com- pass checked at an authoriseddealer.
3. The compass may not indicate the
correct compass point in tunnelsor while driving up or down a steep hill. (The compass returns to the cor-rect compass point when the ve- hicle moves to an area where the geomagnetism is stabilised.)
4. When cleaning the mirror, use a paper towel or similar materialdampened with glass cleaner. Donot spray glass cleaner directly on the mirror as that may cause the liquid cleaner to enter the mirrorhousing.
4. Changing Mirror Angle setting
(If Installed):
Due to mirror positions being angledtowards the driver, the compass mirrorcan also compensate for drivers seated on the Left Hand side of the vehicle (steering wheel on the LH side of thevehicle) or Right Hand side of the ve- hicle (steering wheel on the RH side of the vehicle). To adjust the Left Hand, “L” or Right Hand, “R”, setting: 1. Press and hold the button for more than 12 seconds.
2. Release then press the button to
toggle between “L” and “R”.
NOTE: This procedure also causes the com- pass to be de-calibrated.
4. To re-calibrate the compass, drive the vehicle in 2 complete circles at less than 8km/h.

Type A : Applying the parking brake To engage the parking brake, first applythe foot brake and then without press- ing the release button in, pull the park- ing brake lever up as far as possible. Inaddition it is recommended that when parking the vehicle on a gradient, the shift lever should be positioned in theappropriate low gear on manual transaxle vehicles or in the P (Park) position on automatic transaxle vehicles.!
The mirror is a convenient feature to help the front passenger talk with rearpassengers without turning the head or body rearward. To use the mirror, push the cover andopen it. Adjust mirror angle to the desired position. Close the cover after use.
WARNING
Do not adjust the mirror angle or talkwith rear passengers for a long timewhile driving. You may lose your steering control and cause severe personal injury or accidents.

TAIL GATE

WARNING:
The tail gate should always be kept completely closed while the vehicleis in motion. If it is left open or ajar, poisonous exhaust gases may enter the car resulting in serious illness ordeath to the occupants. See addi- tional warnings concerning exhaust gases on page 2-2.
o The tail gate is opened by pulling the outside handle up, raising the tail gate manually.
o To close, lower the tail gate, then
press down on it until it is closed. Tobe sure the tail gate is fully closed, always try to pull it up again without using the outside handle.
Releasing the parking brakeTo release the parking brake, first applythe foot brake and pull the praking brake lever slightly. Secondly, depress the release button and lower the parkingbrake lever while holding the button. Type B: Applying the parking brake To engage the parking brake, first applythe foot brake and then depress the parking brake pedal down as far as possible. In addition it is recommendedthat when parking the vehicle on a gradient, the shift lever should be in a low gear on manual transaxle vehiclesor in the P (Park) position on automatic transaxle vehicles.

Releasing the parking brakeTo release the parking brake, depressthe parking brake pedal a second time. NOTE: The parking brake pedal should be checked periodically for proper stroke.

o The following specification is the maximum weight that can be loaded onto the roof rack. Distrib-ute the load as evenly as possible across the crossbars (if installed) and roof rack and secure the loadfirmly. o The vehicle centre of gravity will
be higher when items are loadedonto the roof rack. Avoid sudden starts, braking, sharp turns, abrupt manoeuvres or high speeds thatmay result in loss of vehicle con- trol or rollover causing an acci- dent.
CAUTION:
o The crossbars (if installed) should be placed in the proper load carry-ing positions prior to placing itemsonto the roof rack.
o If the vehicle is equipped with a
sunroof, be sure not to positioncargo onto the roof rack in such a way that it could interfere with sunroof operation.
o When carrying cargo on the roof rack, take the necessary precau-tions to make sure the cargo doesnot damage the roof of the vehicle.
o When carrying large objects on
the roof rack, make sure they donot exceed the overall roof length or width.

o To prevent damage or loss of cargo while driving, check frequently be-fore or while driving to make sure the items on the roof rack aresecurely fastened.

o Fuel vapours are dangerous. Be- fore refuelling, always stop the engine and never allow sparks or open flames near the filler area. Ifyou need to replace the filler cap, use a genuine Hyundai replace- ment part.If you open the fuel filler cap dur- ing high ambient temperatures, a slight "pressure sound" may beheard. This is normal and not a cause for concern. Whenever you open the fuel fillercap, turn it slowly.
REMOTE FUEL-FILLER LID RELEASE

NOTE: If the fuel-filler lid will not open be- cause ice has formed around it, tap lightly or push on the lid to break theice and release the lid. Do not pry on the lid. - Do not get back into a vehicle once you have begun refuelling.Do not touch, rub or slide againstany item or fabric (polyester, satin, nylon, etc.) capable of pro- ducing static electricity. Staticelectricity discharge can ignite fuel vapours resulting in explo- sion.

B560B01CM-GAT Manual Fuel Filler Lid Release If the fuel filler lid does not open using the remote fuel filler lid release, you canopen it manually. Unsnap and remove the panel in the cargo area. Pull the handle outward.

If you must re-enter the vehicle, you should once again elimi- nate potentially dangerous staticelectricity discharge by touch- ing a metal part of the vehicle, away from the fuel filler neck,nozzle or other petrol source.
- When using a portable fuel con-
tainer be sure to place the con-tainer on the ground prior to refuelling. Static electricity dis- charge from the container canignite fuel vapours causing a fire. Once refuelling has begun, contact with the vehicle shouldbe maintained until the filling is complete. Use only portable fuel containers designed to carry andstore petrol.
- Do not use mobile phones
around a petrol station or whilerefuelling any vehicle. Electric current and/or electronic inter- ference from mobile phones canpotentially ignite fuel vapours causing a fire. If you must use your mobile phone use it in aplace away from the petrol sta- tion.- When refuelling always shut theengine off. Sparks produced by electrical components related tothe engine can ignite fuel vapours causing a fire. Always insure that the engine is OFF before andduring refuelling. Once refuel- ling is complete, check to make sure the fuel filler cap and doorare securely closed, before start- ing the engine.
- Do not light any fire around a petrol station. DO NOT usematches or a lighter and DO NOT SMOKE or leave a lit ciga-rette in your vehicle while at a petrol station especially during refuelling. Automotive fuel ishighly flammable and can, when ignited, result in explosion by flames.
- If a fire breaks out during refuel- ling, leave the vicinity of thevehicle, and immediately con-tact the manager of the petrol station or contact the police and local fire department. Followany safety instructions they pro- vide.
