4. To return the seatback to its normal position, pull the seatback folding lever and reverse the above proce- dure.
When you return the seatback to itsupright position, always be sure it is locked into position by pulling and push-ing on the top of the seatback.

NOTE: Before folding the seatback, place the rear seat belt buckles in the bucklepouch on the seatback. This will prevent the seat belt buckles from becoming covered by the seat cush-ion when it is returned to the seating position.

CAUTION:
When returning the rear seatbacks to the upright position, remember to return the rear shoulder belts to their proper position. Routing the safetybelt webbing through the rear safety belt guides will help keep the belts from being trapped behind or underthe seats.!

B085D01CM-AAT Adjustable Headrests
Headrests are designed to help reduce the risk of neck injuries. To raise the headrest, pull it up. To lower it, push itdown while pressing the lock knob (2). To remove the headrest, raise it as far as it can go then press the lock knob (2)while pulling upward. This should only be done when the seat is not occupied. To reinstall the headrest, put the head-rest poles (1) into the holes while press- ing the lock knob (2). Then adjust it to the appropriate height. B080D01TG-1

This could result in serious injury or death in case of an accident or a sudden stop. Objects should not extend higher than the top of thefront seatbacks. This could allow cargo to slide forward and cause injury or dam-age during sudden stops.
o When you return the rear seatback
to its upright position after beingfolded down, be careful not to damage the seat belt webbing or buckle. In addition, do not allowthe seat belt webbing or buckle to get caught or pinched in the rear seat.
o When you return the rear seatback to its upright position, be sure it islocked into position to attemptmove it.
o Never attempt to fold or return seat
while the vehicle is moving.!
!WARNING:
o The purpose of the fold-down rear seat back is to allow you to carry more objects than could other-wise be accommodated. Never al- low passengers to sit on the cargo area while the car is moving. Thisis not a proper seating position and no seat belts are available for use when the seat back is foldeddown. WARNING:
o Never allow passengers to sit on the 3rd row seat when the 2nd rowseat is double-folding. This couldresult in serious injury or death in case of an accident or a sudden stop.
o Do not allow passengers to fold down and up the seatback andseat cushion while the car is mov-ing.

SEAT BELTS
B140A01B-GAT REAR SEAT WARNING For the safety of all passengers, lug- gage or other cargo should not be piled higher than the top of the seatback. B150A01A-DAT The use of seat belts reduces the risk of accident injury by avoiding collision with the interior of the car and by pre- venting the occupants from being thrownout of the car. This makes them the most important safety feature available for you and your passengers. Adequateprotection is afforded only when the belt is worn correctly. You should always fasten and adjust your seatbelts beforethe car is put in motion and encourage your passengers to do the same.
WARNING:
Seat belts are designed to bear uponthe bony structure of the body, and should be worn low across the frontof the pelvis or the pelvis, chest and shoulders, as applicable; wearing the lap section of the belt across theabdominal area must be avoided. Seat belts should be adjusted as firmly as possible, consistent withcomfort, to provide the protection for which they have been designed.
!WARNING:
o For maximum effectiveness in case of an accident, the headrest should be adjusted so the middle of the headrest is at the same height of the center of gravity of anoccupant's head. Generally, the center of gravity of most people's head is similar with the height ofthe top of their eyes. Also, adjust the headrest as close to your head
as possible. For this reason, the use of a cushion that holds the body away from the seatbackshould not be recommended. B080D02TG-1

A slack belt will greatly reduce the protection afforded to the wearer. Care should be taken to avoid con-tamination of the webbing with pol- ishes, oils and chemicals, and par- ticularly battery acid. Cleaning maysafely be carried out using mild soap and water. The belt should be re- placed if webbing becomes frayed,contaminated or damaged. It is es- sential to replace the entire assem- bly after it has been worn in a severeimpact even if damage to the assem- bly is not obvious. Belts should not be worn with straps twisted. Eachbelt assembly must only be used by one occupant; it is dangerous to put a belt around a child being carriedon the occupant's lap.
WARNING:
No modifications or additions should be made by the user which will either prevent the seat belt adjusting de-vices from operating to remove slack, or prevent the seat belt assembly from being adjusted to remove slack. B150B01A-DAT Maintenance of Seat Belts When cleaning the seat belts, as rec- ommended, avoid getting solutions intothe buckle where they may attack the lubricant or cause corrosion. Do not attempt to bleach or re-dye belts, asthis may affect the webbing strength. NOTE: Do not attempt any form of modifica- tions or repairs to seat belt compo- nents. If the retractor or other com- ponents do not operate correctly,call an authorised Hyundai Dealer, who will take the necessary correc- tive action. Your authorised dealerwill inspect all seat belt components at regular intervals and advise if re- placement is required. Between theseinspections you should make regu- lar checks to ensure that foreign objects are not preventing completebuckle engagement.
B160B01A-AAT Periodic Inspection It is recommended that all seat belts be inspected periodically for wear or dam-age of any kind. Parts of the system that are damaged should be replaced as soon as possible. B160C01A-AAT Keep Belts Clean and Dry Seat belts should be kept clean and dry. If belts become dirty, they can becleaned by using a mild soap solution and warm water. Bleach, dye, strong detergents or abrasives should not beused because they may damage and weaken the fabric. B160D01A-AAT When To Replace Seat Belts The entire seat belt assembly or as- semblies should be replaced if the ve- hicle has been involved in an accident. This should be done even if no damageis visible. Additional questions con- cerning seat belt operation should be directed to your Hyundai Dealer.

To raise the height adjuster, pull it up. To lower it, push it down while pressingthe height adjuster button. Release the button to lock the anchor into position. Try sliding the height ad-juster to make sure that it has locked into the position.
WARNING:
o The height adjuster must be in the locked position when the vehicle is moving.
o The misadjustment of height of the shoulder belt could reduce theeffectiveness of the seat belt in acrash. B180A01CM-GAT SEAT BELTS-Driver's 3-Point System with Emergency Lock- ing RetractorTo Fasten Your Belt To fasten your seat belt, pull it out of the retractor and insert the metal tab into the buckle. There will be an audible"click" when the tab locks into the buckle. The seat belt automatically adjusts to the proper length only afterthe lap belt is adjusted manually so that it fits snugly around your hips.
B170A04A-AAT HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE FRONT SEAT SHOULDER BELT You can adjust the height of the shoul- der belt anchor to one of the 4 positionsfor maximum comfort and safety. If the height of the adjusting seat belt is too near your neck, you will not begetting the most effective protection. The shoulder portion should be ad- justed so that it lies across your chestand midway over your shoulder nearest the door and not your neck. To adjust the height of the seat beltanchor, lower or raise the height ad- juster into an appropriate position.

If you lean forward in a slow, easy motion, the belt will extend and let youmove around. If there is a sudden stop or impact, however, the belt will lock into position. It will also lock if you try tolean forward too quickly. Check to make sure that the belt is properly locked and that the belt is not twisted. NOTE: If you are not able to pull out the seat belt from the retractor, firmly pull the belt out and release it. Then you willbe able to pull the belt out smoothly. You should place the belt as low as possible on your hips, not on yourwaist. If the belt is located too high on your body, you could slide under it in case of an accident or a sudden stop.This could result of death, serious in- jury or property damage. Both arms should not be under or over the belt.Rather, one should be over and the other under, as shown in the illustration. Never wear the seat belt under the armnearest the door. B210A02A-DAT To Release the Seat Belt The seat belt is released by pressing the release button in the locking buckle. When it is released, the belt shouldautomatically draw back into the retrac- tor. If this does not happen, check the belt to be sure it is not twisted, then tryagain. o When the child restraint system is
not in use, store it in the luggage compartment or fasten it with a safety belt so that it will not be thrown forward in the case of asudden stop or accident.
o A child restraint system should be
placed in the vehicle's rear seatsince this can make an important contribution to safety.
o Unrestrained children should not
be carried in the car. Holding achild in your arms is not a satis- factory substitute for a child re- straint system. A child held in this manner can be crushed betweenyour body and the interior of the car.
o Never allow a child to be held in a
person's arms while they are in amoving vehicle. This could result in serious injury or death to thechild in the event of an accident or sudden stop. Holding a child in a moving vehicle does not offer pro-tection during an accident, even if the person holding the child is wearing a seat belt. o Never use an infant carrier or child
safety seat that "hooks" over a seatback; it may not provide ad- equate security in an accident.
o Under all circumstances the at- taching bolt must be engaged atleast 5 full threads in the anchor-age. If you are in doubt with any aspect of this installation please contact an authorised Hyundaidealer.
CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM
B230A01CM-DAT If the child is old enough to sit alone and the car is not equipped with a proper child or infant seat, the child should beplaced in the rear seat and restrained with a lap/sash belt. Child restraint systems are designed tobe secured in vehicle seats by lap belts or the lap belt portion of a lap/shoulder belt, or by a tether anchor and/or ISOFIXanchors (if installed).
WARNING:
o Child restraint anchorages are designed to withstand only thoseloads imposed by correctly fitted child restraints. Under no circum- stances are they to be used foradult seat belts harnesses or for attaching other items or equip- ment to the vehicle.
o Since a safety belt or child re- straint system can become veryhot if it is left in a closed vehicle,be sure and check the seat cover and buckles before placing a child there.
