WARNING:
o Unlocked doors can be danger- ous. Before you drive away (espe- cially if there are children in the car), be sure that all the doors aresecurely closed and locked so that the doors cannot be inadvertently opened from the inside. This helpsensure that doors will not be opened accidentally. Also, when combined with the proper use of seat belts, locking the doors helps keep occupants from being ejectedfrom the car in case of an accident.
o Before opening the door, always
look for and avoid oncoming traf-fic.
o In case of an accident, all doors
will unlock automatically (If In-stalled). o Do not lock the door using the key
or the transmitter until all passen-gers have left the car because once the doors have been locked using the key or transmitter, it is impos-sible to unlock the door manually by hand (If Installed). Leaving children, helpless adults,or pets in an enclosed vehicle is dangerous. They can be overcome by the extreme heat and sufferpermanent injuries or even death from heat stroke.

o The driver's and front passenger's doors can be opened by pulling the inside door handle even if the front portion of the driver's or front passenger's (if installed) centraldoor locking switch has been de- pressed to lock the doors.
o If the door is locked/unlocked mul- tiple times in rapid successionwith either the vehicle key or door lock switch, the system may stopoperating temporarily in order to protect the circuit and prevent damage to system components.
B040G02NF-AAT Central Door Locks (If Installed) The central door locking switch is lo- cated on the driver's and frontpassenger's (if installed) armrest. It is operated by depressing the door lock switch. If any door is open when theswitch is depressed to the "LOCK" position, the door will remain locked when closed. NOTE:

B070C01O-DAT Alarm Stage The alarm will be activated if any of the following occurs while the car is parkedand the system is armed.
1) A front or rear door is opened without
using the transmitter.
2) The tail gate is opened without using
the transmitter.
3) The engine bonnet is opened. The siren will sound and the turn signal lights will blink continuously for 27 sec- onds. To turn off the system, unlock the door or tail gate with the transmitter.
CAUTION:
Avoid trying to start the engine whilethe system is armed.
! CAUTION:
Do not arm the system until all pas- sengers have left the car. If the sys- tem is armed while a passenger(s)remains in the car, the alarm may be activated when the remaining passenger(s) leaves the car. If any door, tail gate or engine bonnet is opened within 30 seconds after enter- ing the armed stage, the system is disarmed to prevent unnecessary alarm.
1) Remove the ignition key from the
ignition switch.
2) Make sure that the engine bonnet and tail gate are closed and latched.
3) Lock the doors using the transmitter of the keyless entry system.
After completion of the steps above, the turn signal lights will blink once to indicate that the system is armed. However, if any door, tail gate or engine bonnet remains open, the hazard warn- ing lights are not operated. After this, ifall doors, tail gate and engine bonnet are closed, the hazard warning lights blink once. The system can be armed by locking the doors with the key. However, the hazard warning lights are not operated. NOTE: If any door, tail gate or engine bon- net remains open, the system will not be armed. If this happens, rearm the system as previously described.

!WARNING:
To obtain maximum benefit from a pre-tensioner seat belt:
1. The seat belt must be worn cor- rectly.
2. The seat belt must be adjusted to the correct position.
NOTE:
o Both the driver's and front passenger's pre-tensioner seat belts will be activated in certainfrontal collisions. The pre- tensioner seat belts can be acti- vated with the airbags. The pre-tensioners will be activated even if the seat belts are not being worn at the time of the collision.
o When the pre-tensioner seat belts are activated, a loud noise may beheard and fine dust, which mayappear to be smoke, may be vis- ible in the passenger compart- ment. These are normal operatingconditions and are not hazard- ous.

When the pre-tensioner activates, if the system senses excessive seat belttension on the driver or passenger's seat belt, the load limiter inside the pre- tensioner will release some of the pres-sure on the affected seat belt. The seat belt pre-tensioner system consists mainly of the following compo-nents. Their locations are shown in the illustration.

2. Seat belt pre-tensioner assembly
3. SRS control module
B180B01CM-DAT Pre-Tensioner Seat Belt Your Hyundai vehicle is equipped with driver's and front passenger's pre-tensioner seat belts. The purpose of the pre-tensioner is to make sure that the seat belts fit tightly against theoccupant's body in certain frontal colli- sions. The pre-tensioner seat belts can be activated with the airbags. When the vehicle stops suddenly, or if the occupant tries to lean forward tooquickly, the seat belt retractor will lock into position. In certain frontal colli- sions, the pre-tensioner will activateand pull the seat belt into tighter contact against the occupant's body.

CAUTION:
o Because the sensor that activates the SRS airbag is connected with pre-tensioner seat belt, the SRS airbag warning light on the instrument panel will illuminatefor approximately 6 seconds after the ignition key has been turned to the "ON" position, and then itshould turn off.
o If pre-tensioner seat belt is not
working properly, this warninglight will illuminate even if there is no malfunction of the SRS airbag. If the SRS airbag warning lightdoes not illuminate when the igni- tion key is turned to "ON", or if it blinks for a second and remainsilluminated after illuminating for approximately 6 seconds, or if it illuminates while the vehicle isbeing driven, please have an authorised Hyundai dealer inspect the pre-tensioner seat belt or SRSairbag system as soon as pos- sible. WARNING:
o Pre-tensioners are designed to operate once only. After activa-tion, pre-tensioner seat belts must be replaced. All seat belts, of anytype, should always be replaced after they have been worn during a collision.
o The pre-tensioner seat belt assem- bly mechanisms become hot dur-ing activation. Do not touch thepre-tensioner seat belt assemblies for several minutes after they have been activated.
o Do not attempt to inspect or re- place the pre-tensioner seat beltsyourself. This must be done by anauthorised Hyundai dealer.
o Do not strike the pre-tensioner seat

!WARNING:
o Before installing child restraints, always refer to "Child Restraint System" to ensure correct instal- lation and occupant protection is maximised.
o Make sure that the occupant does
not have any body parts (head, arms & legs) protruding outside the restraining system. If an inflat- ing airbag was to strike an infantchild on the head, it may cause serious injury.
o Ensure the opening for the Cur- tain Airbag System remains unob-structed at all times, so that the airbags can inflate properly ifneeded.
Important Safety Notes for Cur- tain Airbag Systems Following is a number of safety points concerning this system which shouldalways be observed to ensure risk of injury is reduced in an accident.
o The built in coat hooks should
only be used for light weight cloth- ing, ensure that pockets are free ofany heavy or sharp objects. When using coat hooks, do not hang clothes on coat hangers.
o The space between the occupant and the curtain airbag must neverbe occupied by children, passen-gers or pets. Occupants should never lean out or have any parts of their body protruding from thewindow whilst the engine is run- ning.
o Do not move the sun visor out to cover the side window if there isan item attached to it such as garage door remote control, pens, air fresheners or the like. These objects may cause injury if the Curtain Airbag is deployed.
o Where sun blinds are fitted to the rear doors, these must not ob-struct or impair the airbag in anyway.
B990C01CM-DAT Curtain Airbag (If Installed) Curtain airbags are located along both sides of the roof rails. It is designed to help protect the heads of the front seat occupants and the rear outboard seat occupants in certain sideimpact collisions. The curtain airbags are designed to deploy only during certain side impact collisions, depending on the crash se- verity, angle, speed and impact. Thecurtain airbags are not designed to deploy in all side impact situations, collisions from the front or rear of thevehicle or in most rollover situations. OCM052213
