The panel lamps may be dimmed by use of the rheostat, turning the knob to decrease or increase the illuminationintensity as required. For the cigar lighter to work, the key must be in the "ACC" position or the "ON" position.To use the cigar lighter, push it all the way into its socket. When the element has heated, the lighter will pop out tothe "ready" position. Do not hold the cigar lighter pressed in. This can damage the heating elementand create a fire hazard. If it is necessary to replace the cigar lighter, use only a genuine Hyundaireplacement or its approved equiva- lent.RHEOSTAT SWITCH

The front ashtray may be opened by pushing and releasing the ashtray/cigar lighter door at its top edge. To remove the ashtray in order to cleanit, the metal ash receptacle should be removed from the ashtray door. Do not attempt to remove the entire ashtraydoor assembly, or damage will result. Instead, lift the metal ash receptacle upward and pull it out. To reinstall it,place it in the proper position and press it down and forward to reengage the ash receptacle rear lip in the ashtray door.The ashtray light will only illuminate when the exterior body lights are switched on.ASHTRAY

The power outlet is located in front of the centre console and in the quartertrim. It is also located behind the centre console. These supply 12V electric power tooperate electric accessories or equip- ment only when the key is in the "ON" or "ACC" position.
CAUTION:
o Do not use the power outlet to connect electric accessories or equipment other than those de- signed to operate on 12 volts.
o Some electronic devices can cause electronic interference whenplugged into the power outlet.These devices may cause exces- sive audio noise and malfunctions in other electronic systems or de-vices used in your vehicle.

The electrically operated sunroof may be used only whilst the ignition switch is at the "ON" position. The sunroof is equipped with a sunshade which maybe used whilst the sunroof is at the closed position to obscure incoming light.The sunshade is automatically opened whenever the sunroof is opened but must be manually closed by slidingforward after the sunroof is closed. When the sunroof is opened, the wind deflector will automatically rise to theupper position and will automatically retract when the sunroof is closed.SUNROOF

B450B01HP-GAT Rear Drink Holder (Type B) The rear drink holder is located in the rear seat armrest for holding cups or cans. The rear drink holder can be used by opening the lid of armrest.
WARNING:
Do not place objects other thancups or cans in the drink holder.Such objects can be thrown out in the event of a sudden stop or an accident, possibly injuring the pas-sengers in the vehicle.
!WARNING:
o Use caution when using the drink holders. A spilled beverage that is very hot can injure you or your passengers. Spilled liquids candamage interior trim and electri- cal components.

B460D01HP-EAT Manual Operation of Sunroof If the sunroof fails to operate:
1. Remove the round plug in the front
of the roof panel with a flat-bladed screwdriver or coin. 2. Insert the hexagonal head wrench
provided with the vehicle into the socket. This wrench can be found in the glove box or the tool bag.
3. Turn the wrench clockwise to open
or counterclockwise to close.
CAUTION:
Remove the round plug with the groove pointing to the front and the rear. Otherwise, the projections ofthe plug may break if it is not posi- tioned properly.

B490A03Y-AAT Interior Light The interior courtesy light has three buttons. The three buttons are: o DOOR In the "DOOR" position, the interior courtesy light comes on when any door is opened regardless of the igni- tion key position. The light goes outgradually 6 seconds after the door is closed. o ON In the "ON" position, the light stays on at all times.
CAUTION:
Do not leave this button pressed for an extended period of time when thevehicle is not running.

YB270D2-E FOLDING THE OUTSIDE REAR- VIEW MIRRORS To fold the outside rearview mirrors, push them towards the rear. The outside rearview mirrors can be folded rearward for parking in restrictedareas.
WARNING:
Do not adjust or fold the outside rearview mirrors whilst the vehicle is moving. This could result in loss ofcontrol, and an accident causing death, serious injury or property damage. The interior mirror is of the day/nighttype to enable the glare of headlights from following vehicles to be eliminated during night time driving.The tab located at the bottom of the mirror should be set to the position nearest the windscreen for normal daytime driving, and flipped towards the rear of the vehicle to eliminate glare during night time driving. To adjust thefield of vision, the mirror may be moved by hand upon the mounting.

o To release the parking brake, applythe foot brake and pull up the parking brake lever slightly. Depress the button and lower the lever.
The parking brake must always be set when the vehicle is to be left unat- tended. When the parking brake is ap- plied, and the ignition key is at the "ON"position, the parking brake warning light will be illuminated. Before driving the vehicle, the parking brake must be fullyreleased and the warning light extin- guished.
o To set the parking brake, apply the foot brake and pull the parking brake lever up. Release the button whenthe brake is fully applied.PARKING BRAKE

o The hatchback door can be locked or unlocked with a key.
o The hatchback door is opened by pulling the outside handle up, rais- ing the hatchback door manually.
o To close, lower the hatchback door, then press down on it until it isclosed. To be sure the hatchbackdoor is fully closed, always try to pull it up again without using the outside handle.

Luggage compartment light has a 3- position switch. The three positions are:
o In the "MIDDLE" position, the lug-
gage compartment light comes on when the hatchback door is opened, then goes out when it is closed.
o In the "ON" position, the light stays on at all times.
o In the "OFF" position, the light stays
off at all times. B540D02HP-DAT Luggage Net Some objects can be kept in the net at the luggage compartment. Use the luggage net on the floor or atthe back of the luggage compartment to prevent objects from sliding.
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the goods or the vehicle, care should be takenwhen carrying fragile or bulky ob- jects in the luggage compartment.

The fuel-filler flap may be opened from inside the vehicle by pulling up on the fuel-filler flap opener located below theleft of the driver's side crash pad. NOTE: If the fuel-filler flap will not open because ice has formed around it,tap lightly or push on it to break the ice and release it. Do not lever the flap. If necessary, spray around theflap with an approved de-icer fluid (do not use radiator anti-freeze) or move the vehicle to a warm placeand allow the ice to melt. WARNING:
Fuel vapors are dangerous. Beforerefueling, always stop the engine and never allow sparks or open flames near the filler area. If youneed to replace the filler cap, use a genuine Hyundai replacement part. If you open the fuel filler cap duringhigh ambient temperatures, a slight "pressure sound" may be heard. This is normal and not a cause forconcern. Whenever you open the fuel filler cap, turn it slowly.
