General Information
This device complies with FCC rules part 15 and Industry
Canada RSS-210. Operation is subject to the following

ber only signifies that Industry Canada technical specifi-
cations were met.
POWER SUNROOF Ð IF EQUIPPED
The power sunroof switch is located between the sun
visors on the overhead console.

WARNING!
²Never leave children in a vehicle, with the keys in
the ignition switch. Occupants, particularly unat-
tended children, can become entrapped by the
power sunroof while operating the power sunroof
switch. Such entrapment may result in serious
injury or death.
²In an accident, there is a greater risk of being
thrown from a vehicle with an open sunroof. You
could also be seriously injured or killed. Always
fasten your seat belt properly and make sure all
passengers are properly secured too.
²Do not allow small children to operate the sun-
roof. Never allow fingers or other body parts, or
any object to project through the sunroof opening.
Injury may result.
Opening Sunroof - Express
Press the switch rearward and release, and the sunroof
will open automatically from any position. The sunroof
will open fully and stop automatically. This is called
Express Open. During Express Open operation, any
movement of the sunroof switch will stop the sunroof.
Closing Sunroof - Express
Press the switch forward and release, and the sunroof
will close automatically from any position. The sunroof
will close fully and stop automatically. This is called
Express Close. During Express Close operation, any
movement of the switch will stop the sunroof.
Pinch Protect Feature
This feature will detect an obstruction in the opening of
the sunroof during Express Close operation. If an ob-
struction in the path of the sunroof is detected, the

sunroof will automatically retract. Remove the obstruc-
tion if this occurs. Next, press the switch forward and
release to Express Close.
Pinch Protect Override
If a known obstruction (ice, debris, etc.) prevents closing,
press the switch forward and hold. This allows the
sunroof to move towards the closed position.
NOTE:Pinch protection is disabled while the switch is
pressed.
Venting Sunroof - Express
Press and release the9V9button, and the sunroof will
open to the vent position. This is called Express Vent, and
it will occur regardless of sunroof position. During
Express Vent operation, any movement of the switch will
stop the sunroof.
Sunshade Operation
The sunshade can be opened manually. However, the
sunshade will open automatically as the sunroof opens.
NOTE:The sunshade cannot be closed if the sunroof is
open.
Wind Buffeting
Wind buffeting can be described as the perception of
pressure on the ears or a helicopter type sound in the
ears. Your vehicle may exhibit wind buffeting with the
windows down, or the sunroof (if equipped) in certain
open or partially open positions. This is a normal occur-
rence and can be minimized. If the buffeting occurs with
the rear windows open, then open the front and rear
windows together to minimize the buffeting. If the
buffeting occurs with the sunroof open, adjust the sun-
roof opening to minimize the buffeting or open any
window.

Sunroof Maintenance
Use only a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth to clean
the glass panel.
Ignition Off Operation
For vehicles not equipped with the Electronic Vehicle
Information Center (EVIC), the power sunroof switch
will remain active for 45 seconds after the ignition switch
is turned to the LOCK position. Opening either front
door will cancel this feature.
For vehicles equipped with the EVIC, the power sunroof
switch will remain active for up to 10 minutes after the
ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position. Opening
either front door will cancel this feature. The time is
programmable. For details, refer to ªDelay Power Off to
Accessories Until Exit,º under ªPersonal Settings (Cus-
tomer Programmable Features),º under ªElectronic Ve-
hicle Information Center (EVIC)º in Section 4 of this
manual.
SKY SLIDERTFULL LENGTH OPEN ROOF
The Sky Slidertis a full-length, soft-top, power-roof that
opens front to rear or rear to front.
Sky SliderTUsage Precautions
NOTE:
²The system prohibits Sky Slidertoperation when
ambient temperature is at ±4ÉF (±20ÉC) or lower.
²The system prohibits Sky Slidertoperation at vehicle
speeds of 86 mph (138 km/h) or above.
²Opening and closing the Sky Slidertconsecutively
without the engine running may run the battery down.

CAUTION!
²Never attempt to open or close the Sky Slidertwhen
it is frozen. Wait until the Sky Slidertis thawed
before operating.
²Opening the Sky Slidertwhen damp, wet, or dirty
can cause stains, mildew, and damage to the soft-top
material and the inside of your vehicle. Make sure
the Sky Slidertis dry before opening.
²Always close the Sky Slidertwhen leaving your
vehicle so as not to leave the interior exposed to
potentially damaging outdoor conditions.
²Do not leave the Sky Slidertopen for several weeks
at a time. Close it occasionally to prevent discolora-
tion in the folds of the fabric and to allow the creases
to smooth out. This is especially important if the Sky
Slidertwas opened when not completely dry.
Failure to follow these cautions can cause damage to the
Sky Slider,tvehicle contents, and the vehicle interior.

²If potential danger exists while opening or closing the Sky Slidert
in Automatic Mode, press and release the switch immediately to
interrupt the operation.
²If potential danger exists while opening or closing the Sky Slidert
in Operator Mode, release the switch immediately to interrupt the
operation.
²Do not allow small children to operate the Sky Slider.t

Power Top Control
The Power Top switch is located between the sun visors
on the overhead console.
NOTE:The Power Top switch will operate when the
ignition switch is turned to the ON or ACC position, and
when the accessory delay feature is active.
Opening the Sky SliderT
Using Automatic Mode
Press the switch rearward and release it within1¤2second
and the Sky Slidertwill open from the front and move
automatically toward the rear of the vehicle.
Press the switch forward and release it within
1¤2second
and the Sky Slidertwill open from the rear and move
automatically toward the front of the vehicle.
For either operation, the Sky Slidertwill open fully and
stop automatically unless you interrupt the operation by
pressing and releasing the switch again.
NOTE:You can press the switch in either direction to
interrupt the operation.
To resume the operation from a partially open position,
press and release the switch once again.

NOTE:The Sky Slidertwill not open from the front and
the rear at the same time. The Sky Slidertmust close fully
before opening it from the opposite end.
Using Operator Mode
Press the switch rearward and hold it and the Sky Slidert
will open from the front and move toward the rear of the
vehicle.
Press the switch forward and hold it and the Sky Slidert
will open from the rear and move toward the front of the
vehicle.
For either operation, the Sky Slidertwill open fully and
stop automatically unless you interrupt the operation by
releasing the switch.
To resume the operation from a partially open position,
press and hold the switch once again.NOTE:The Sky Slidertwill not open from the front and

Closing the Sky SliderT
Using Automatic Mode
Press and release the button in the center of the switch
and the Sky Slidertwill close automatically from any
position. The Sky Slidertwill close fully and stop auto-
matically.
Using Operator Mode
Press the switch rearward and hold it and the Sky Slidert
will move forward.
Press the switch forward and hold it and the Sky Slidert
will move rearward.
For either operation, the Sky Slidertwill close fully and
stop automatically unless you interrupt the operation by
releasing the switch.

To resume the operation from a partially closed position,
press and hold the switch once again.
Manually
The Sky Slidertdrive motors are mounted to the roof
above the cargo lamp. In the event that your vehicle
losses battery power, you can close the Sky Slidertby
turning the drive gears in the appropriate motor with a 6
mm Allen wrench. To do so, you must first remove the
cargo lamp from the headliner. Then, insert the wrench
into the ªAllenº shaped hole in the appropriate motor
and turn the wrench clockwise until the top closes
completely. The left motor facing forward will close the
top when it is open from the rear of the vehicle. The right
motor will close the top when it is open from the front of
the vehicle.
Anti-Pinch Protect Feature
The Sky Slidertwill retract automatically if it detects an
obstruction while closing. If this occurs, remove the
obstruction and use the switch again to close the Sky
Slider.t
WARNING!
There is no anti-pinch protection when the Sky
Slidertis almost closed. Be sure to clear all objects
from the Sky Slidertbefore closing.
Wind Buffeting
Wind buffeting can be described as the perception of
pressure on the ears or a helicopter type sound in the
ears. Your vehicle may exhibit wind buffeting with the
windows down, or the Sky Slidertin certain open or
partially open positions. This is a normal occurrence and
can be minimized. If the buffeting occurs with the rear

windows open, then open the front and rear windows
together to minimize the buffeting. If the buffeting occurs
with the Sky Slidertopen, adjust the Sky Slidertopening
to minimize the buffeting or open any window.
Sky SliderTMaintenance
Refer to ªSky SlidertTop Careº under ªMaintaining Your
Vehicleº in Section 7 of this manual.
ELECTRICAL POWER OUTLET
Your vehicle is equipped with a fused 12-volt power
outlet. This outlet is located on the instrument panel
below the climate controls. It has power available when
the ignition switch is in the ON position. It can operate a
conventional cigar lighter unit or power accessories
designed for use with a standard power outlet adapter.NOTE:If desired, the instrument panel power outlet
can be converted by your authorized dealer to provide
power with the ignition switch in the LOCK position.

Electrical Outlet Use With Engine Off
CAUTION!
²Many accessories that can be plugged in draw power
from the vehicle's battery, even when not in use (i.e.
cellular phones, etc.). Eventually, if plugged in long
enough, the vehicle's battery will discharge sufficiently
to degrade battery life and/or prevent engine starting.
²Accessories that draw higher power (i.e. coolers, vacuum
cleaners, lights, etc.) will degrade the battery even more
quickly. Only use these intermittently and with greater
caution.
²After the use of high power draw accessories, or long
periods of the vehicle not being started (with accessories
still plugged in), the vehicle must be driven a sufficient
length of time to allow the alternator to recharge the
vehicle's battery.
²Power outlets are designed for accessory plugs only. Do
not hang any type of accessory or accessory bracket from
the plug.
POWER INVERTER Ð If EQUIPPED
Your vehicle may be equipped with a 115 Volt AC (150
Watt maximum) power outlet located on the back of the
center console. This outlet can power small appliances
and electronic devices.
