REFITTING THE STANDARD WHEEL
Following the procedure described previously, raise the car and
remove the spare wheel.
For versions with steel rim
Proceed as follows:
❒Make sure the contact surfaces between standard wheel and hub
are clean so that the fastening bolts will not come loose;
❒Fit the standard wheel by inserting the first bolt in the hole closest
to the inflation valve;
❒Fit the wheel cap making the groove (on the wheel cap) coincide
with the inflation valve and fit the other three bolts;
❒For versions with press-fit wheel cap, press the cap edge against
the wheel with your palm (do not hit it);
❒Using the wrench provided, tighten the fastening bolts;
❒Lower the car and remove the jack;
❒Using the wrench provided, fully tighten the bolts in the sequence

JACKING THE CAR
If the car is to be lifted, go to a Lancia Dealership which is equipped
with the arm hoist or workshop lift.
Jack up the car only by positioning the jack arms or the shop jack in
the points shown in the figures.
TOWING THE CAR
The car is delivered with two tow rings: the short tow ring shall be
fitted at the front and the long one at the back.
Tow rings are arranged in tool container.
Side figures show how rear (long) ring was arranged, within spare
wheel and in the container of kit Fix & Go automatic, respectively.
For versions with Dual FuNction System gearbox, make sure that it is
in neutral N (checking that the car moves when pushed) and proceed
as for towing a normal car with mechanical gearbox.

IMPORTANT - Battery
The charge in the battery should be checked at the
start of winter to limit the risk of electrolyte
freezing.This check should be carried out more frequently if
the car is used mainly for short trips, or if it is fitted
with accessories that permanently absorb electricity
even with the ignition key removed, especially in the
case of after market accessories. If the car is used in
hot climates or particularly harsh conditions it is
wise to check the level of the battery fluid
(electrolyte) more frequently than specified in the
“Service schedule” in this section.

MAINTENANCE
Car maintenance should be entrusted to Lancia Dealership. For routine and minor maintenance
operations you wish to carry out yourself, always make sure you have the proper equipment,
genuine Lancia spare parts and the necessary fluids; do not however carry out these operations if
you have no experience.

ENGINE OIL
Checking engine oil
Check the oil level a few minutes (about 5) after the engine has
stopped, with the car parked on level ground.
Check that the level is within the MIN and MAX marks on the
dipstick. The interval between the MIN and MAX marks corresponds
to about one litre of oil.
Topping up engine oil
If the oil level is near or even below the MIN mark, add oil through
the filler neck, until reaching the MAX mark. Oil level shall never
exceed the MAX mark.
IMPORTANT If a routine check reveals that the oil level is above the
MAX mark, contact Lancia Dealership to have the correct level
restored.
IMPORTANT After adding or changing the oil, let the engine turn
over for a few seconds and wait a few minutes after turning it off
before you check the level.

If the battery is not fitted with electrolyte level
indicator, the relevant checks must only be carried
out by authorised personnel.
To check the battery charge, slacken the two
fastening screws and open the cover. Check the
battery charge and then reclose the cover, take care
to prevent pinching and short circuits.CHANGING THE BATTERY
If required, replace the battery with a genuine spare
part having the same specifications.
If a battery with different specifications is fitted, the
service intervals given in the “Service schedule” in
this section will no longer be valid. Refer to the
instructions provided by the battery manufacturer.

WARNINGWhen working on the battery or near it, always wear the proper goggles. Batteries contain substances that are very harmful for the environment. You are advised to have
the battery changed at a Lancia Dealership, which is properly equipped for disposing of used
batteries respecting nature and the law.
Incorrect fitting of electrical and electronic accessories can seriously damage the car.
If after buying the car, you want to install electric accessories which require permanent electric
supply (alarm, free-hand phone kit, etc.) contact Lancia Dealership whose qualified personnel, in
addition to suggesting the most suitable devices, will evaluate the overall electric absorption,
checking whether the car’s electric system is capable of withstanding the load required, or whether
it should be integrated with a more powerful battery.
If the car is left inactive for long periods at cold, remove the battery and store it
in a warm place to prevent freezing.
