Pressing the knob changes sound modes in the following order:

ā Adjusting sound quality
Turning the āTUNEā¢SELā knob adjusts the level.
*: The sound quality level is adjusted individually in each audio mode.
The sound quality, volume balance and ASL settings can be adjusted.

Turning the āTUNEā¢SELā knob clockwis e turns on the ASL, and turning the
āTUNEā¢SELā knob counterclockwise turns off the ASL.
ASL automatically adjusts the volume and tone quality according to the noise level as
you drive your vehicle.

When the desired station is reached, press the button again.
ā Scanning all the radio stations within rangePress the āSCANā button.
All the stations with reception w ill be played for 5 seconds each.
When the desired station is reached, press the button again.
This feature allows your radio to receive station identification information and
program information (classical, jazz, etc. ) from radio stations which broadcast
this information.
ā Receiving RDS broadcasts
Press ā ļāļ or ā ļā on the āTYPEā¢FOLDERā button during FM reception.
The type of program changes each time the button is pressed.

If the system receives no RDS statio ns, āNO PTYā appears on the display.
Press the āSCANā button, or āļāļ or ā ļā on the āSEEKā¢TRACKā button.
The radio seeks or scans for statio ns of the relevant program type.
ā Displaying radio station names
Press the āTEXTā button.
ā Displaying radio text messages
Press the āTEXTā button twice.
A text message is displayed when āMSGā is shown on the screen.
If the text continues past the end of the di splay, is displayed. Press and hold the
button until you hear a beep.

Press the āAMā¢SATā button.
The display changes as follows each time the button is pressed.

Turn the āTUNEā¢SELā knob to select the desired channel in all the catego-
ries or press ā ļāļ or ā ļā on the āSEEKā¢TRACKā button to select the desired
channel in the current category.
ā Setting XMĀ® Satellite Radio channel presets
Select the desired channel. Press and hold the button (from the ā1ā button to
the ā6ā button) the channel is to be set to until you hear a beep.
ā Changing the channel category
Press āļāļ or ā ļā on the āTYPEā¢FOLDERā button.
ā Scanning the XMĀ® Satellite Radio channels
āScanning the channels in the current category
Press the āSCANā button.
When the desired channel is reached, press the button again.
āScanning the preset channels
Press and hold the āSCANā button until you hear a beep.
When the desired channel is reached, press the button again.
ā Displaying text information
Press the āTEXTā button.
The display will show up to 10 characters.

ā When the 12-volt battery is disconnected
All preset stations are erased.
ā Reception sensitivity
āCargo loaded on the roof luggage carrier, especially metal objects, may adversely
affect the reception of XMĀ® Satellite Radio.
āMaintaining perfect radio recept ion at all times is difficult due to the continually chang-
ing position of the antenna, differences in signal strength and surrounding objects, such
as trains, transmitters, etc.
āWhen the āSCANā button is used, automati c station selection may not be possible.
āThe radio antenna is mounted inside the rear window. To maintain clear radio reception,
do not attach metallic window tinting or other metallic objects to the antenna wire
mounted inside the rear window.
ā Receiving XMĀ® Satellite Radio
An XMĀ® Satellite Radio is a tuner designed excl usively to receive broadcasts provided
under a separate subscription. Availability is limited to the 48 contiguous states and 10
Canadian provinces.

āRadio ID
You will need the radio ID when activating XMĀ® service or reporting a problem. Select
āCH000ā using the āTUNEā¢SELā knob, and the receiverās 8-character ID number will
appear.
āSatellite tuner
The tuner supports only Audio Services (Music and Talk) and the accompanying Text
Information of XM
Ā® Satellite Radio.
āInfotainment and Data services
XM offers a variety of advanced Infotainment and data services.

ā If the satellite radio does not operate normally
If a problem occurs with the XMĀ® tuner, a message will appear on the display. Refer to
the table below to identify the problem, and take the suggested corrective action.
Contact the XM
Ā® Listener Care Center at 1-877-447-0011 (U.S.A.) or 1-877-438-9677
(Canada).
ANTENNA
The XMĀ® antenna is not connected. Check whether the XMĀ®
antenna cable is attached securely.
There is a short-circuit in the antenna or the surrounding
antenna cable. See a Lexus certified dealer.
UNAUTH
You have not subscribed to the XMĀ® Satellite Radio. The radio
is being updated with the latest encryption code. Contact the
XM
Ā® Satellite Radio for subscription information. When a
contract is canceled, you can choose the āCH000ā and all the
free-to-air channels.
The premium channel you selected is not authorized. Wait for
about 2 seconds until the radio returns to the previous channel
or āCH001ā. If it does not chan ge automatically, select another
channel. If you want to listen to the premium channel, contact
the XM
Ā® Satellite Radio.
NO SIGNALThe XMĀ® signal is too weak at the current location. Wait until
your vehicle reaches a location with a stronger signal.
LOADI N GThe unit is acquiring audio or program information. Wait until
the unit has received the information.
OFF AIRThe channel you selected is not broadcasting any program-
ming. Select another channel.
-----There is no song/program title or artist name/feature associ-
ated with the channel at that time. No action needed.
CH UNAVL
The channel you selected is no lo nger available. Wait for about
2 seconds until the radio returns to the previous channel or
āCH001ā. If it does not change automatically, select another
channel.

ā Certifications for the radio tuner
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a class B digital
device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide rea-
sonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equip-
ment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and
used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio com-
munications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particu-
lar installation.
If this equipment does cause harmful interferen ce to radio or television reception, which
can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to
correct the interference by trying one or more of the following:
āReorienting or relocate the receiving antenna.
āIncreasing the separation between the equipment and receiver.
āConnecting the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the
receiver is connected.
āConsulting the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

Press ā ļā to move up or ā ļā to move down using the āSEEKā¢TRACKā button
until the desired track number appears on the displayed.
ā Fast-forwarding and reversing tracks
To fast-forward or reverse, press and hold ā ļāļ or ā ļā on the āSEEKā¢TRACKā
button until you hear a beep.
ā Scanning tracks
Press the āSCANā button.
The first 10 seconds of each track will be played.
To cancel, press the button again.
Press the button again when the desired track is reached.
ā Random play
Press the ā1ā button.
Songs are played in random order.
To cancel, press the button again.
ā Repeat play
Press the ā2ā button.
To cancel, press the button again.
ā Switching the display
Press the āTEXTā button.
Each time the button is pressed, the display changes in the following order:

Press and hold the āSCANā button until you hear a beep.
The first 10 seconds of the first f ile in each folder will be played.
When the desired folder is reached, press the button again.
