“Keyless System malfunction” is displayed
This message is displayed if the advanced keyless entry & push button start system has a
problem.
Contact an expert repairer, we recommend an Authorised Mazda Repairer.
CAUTION
If the message is indicated, or the push button start indicator light (amber) flashes, the en‐
gine may not start. If the engine cannot be st arted, try starting it using the emergency oper‐
ation for starting the engine, an d have the vehicle inspected at an expert repairer, we rec‐
ommend an Authorised Mazda Repairer as soon as possible.
Refer to Emergency Operation for St arting the Engine on page 4-10.
“Set Power to OFF” is displayed
This message is displayed when the driver's door is opened with out switching the ignition
off.
“Key not found” is displayed
This message is displayed when a ny of the following operations is performed with the key
out of the operational range or placed in areas inside the cabi n where it is difficult for the
key to be detected.
•The push button start is pressed with the ignition switched off•The ignition is switched on•All doors are closed without switching the ignition off

If any malfunction o ccurs in the keyless entry system, it illum inates continuously.
CAUTION
If the key warning indicator light illuminates or the push button start indicator light (am‐
ber) flashes, the engine may not start. If the engine cannot be started, try starting it using
the emergency operation for starting the engine, and have the vehicle inspected at an ex‐
pert repairer, we recommend an Authoris ed Mazda Repairer as soon as possible.

Security Indicator
Light If the engine does not start with the correct key, and the secu
rity indicator light remains
illuminated or flashing, try the following:
Make sure the key is within the operational range for signal transmission. Switch the igni-
tion off, and then restart the engine. If the engine does not s tart after 3 or more tries, con-
tact an expert repairer, we reco mmend an Authorised Mazda Repai rer.

When the light is turned on
A problem in the system may be i ndicated under the following conditions. Have your ve-
hicle inspected at an expert repairer, we recommend an Authoris ed Mazda Repairer.
•The light does not turn on when the ignition is switched ON.•The light continues to remain on even though the i-stop OFF swi tch has been pressed
while the engine is running.
When the light is flashing
The light continues to flash if the system has a malfunction. H ave your vehicle inspected
at an expert repairer, we recommend an Authorised Mazda Repaire r.
i-ELOOP Warning
Indication*
The Warning indication turns on if there is any malfunction in the i-ELOOP system. Con-
sult an expert repairer, we reco mmend an Authorised Mazda Repai rer.

High Beam Control System (HBC)

The light remains turned on if th ere is a problem with the system. Have your vehicle in-
spected at an expert repairer, we recommend an Authorised Mazda Repairer.
NOTE
If the windscreen area in front of the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) is fogged or ob-
structed, the light turns on temporarily. If the light remains turned on, there may be a
problem with the system.

If the vehicle is driven on a road with less traffic and few vehicles that the radar sensors
can detect, the system may pause. However , it does not indicate a malfunction.

•The light does not turn on when the ignition is switched ON.•The light remains on even when the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) system can be operat-
ed.
•The light turns on while driving the vehicle.
NOTE
If the vehicle is driven on a road with less traffic and few vehicles that the radar sensors
can detect, the system may pause (The Bli nd Spot Monitoring (BSM) OFF indicator light
in the instrument cluster illuminates). However, it does not indicate a malfunction.

Seat Belt Warning
Light (Front seat) The seat belt warning light turns on if the
driver or front passenger's seat is occupied
and the seat belt is not fastened with the ig-
nition switched ON.
If the driver or front passenger's seat belt is
unfastened (only when the front passenger's
seat is occupied) and the vehicle is driven at
a speed faster than abo
ut 20 km/h (12 mph),
the warning light flashes. After a short time,
the warning light stops flashing, but re-
mains illuminated. If a seat belt remains un-
fastened, the warning light flashes again for
a given period of time.
NOTE
•If the driver or front passenger's seat belt
is unfastened after th e warning light turns
on, and the vehicle speed exceeds 20 km/h
(12 mph), the warning light flashes again.
•Placing heavy items on the front passeng-
er's seat may cause the front passenger's
seat belt warning function to operate de-
pending on the weight of the item.
•To allow the front passenger seat weight
sensor to function properly, do not place
and sit on an additional seat cushion on
the front passenger's seat. The sensor may
not function properly because the addi-
tional seat cushion could cause sensor in-
terference.
•If a small child is seated on the front pas-
senger's seat, the warning light may not
operate. Fasten the seat belts.
(Red)
Seat Belt Warning
Light (Rear seat)
*
If the rear seat belts are not fastened while
the ignition is switched ON , the driver and
the passenger are alerted by the warning
light.
The warning light opera tes even if there is
no passenger on the rear seat.
NOTE
If a rear seat belt is not fastened by a cer-
tain period of time after the engine has
been started, the warning light turns off. Fasten the seat belts.

Cancel the AUTOHOLD function or the
Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop

function), and have your vehicle inspect-

Indicates the possibility of the vehicle
not being held in the stopped position by
the AUTOHOLD function, such as on
steep slopes. Depress and hold your foot on the brake
pedal.
Indicates when the cancel operation is
done without depressing the brake pedal
while the vehicle is being held in the
stopped position by the AUTOHOLD
function or during the stop hold control
of the Mazda Radar Cruise Control with
Stop & Go function (MRCC with Stop

Indicated when the engine may be over-
heating and the engine output is restrict-
ed Drive slowly and make sure that the in-
dication turns off.

calm manner) according to the displayed message.

If the following messag
es are displayed in the centre display (Type B audio), a vehicle
system may be malfunctioning. St op the vehicle in a safe place and contact an Authorised
Mazda Repairer.

Displays if the engine coolant temperature has increased excess ively.
Displays if the charging system has a malfunction.

▼i-stop Warning Beep*
•If the driver's door is opened while
engine idling is sto
pped, the warning
sound operates to notify the driver that
engine idling is sto pped. It stops when
the driver's door is closed.
•(European model)
The warning sound operates if the
following operations are performed
while the engine id ling is stopped. In
such cases, the engine does not restart
automatically to ensure safety. Start the
engine using the normal method.
•(Manual transaxle)
With the shift lever in a position other
than neutral, the dri ver's seat belt is
unfastened and the driver's door is
opened.
•(Automatic transaxle)
With the selector lever in the D or M
(not in second gear fixed mode)
position, the driver's seat belt is
unfastened and the driver's door is
opened.
▼ Vehicle Speed Alarm*
The vehicle speed alarm function is
designed to alarm the driver via a single
beep sound and a warning indication in the
instrument cluster that the previously set
vehicle speed has been exceeded.
You can change the vehicle speed setting
at which the warning is triggered.
▼120 km/h Warning Beep*
If the vehicle speed exceeds 120 km/h, a
chime sounds for 5 seconds.
▼ Electric Parking Brake (EPB)
Warning Beep
The warning buzzer is activated under the
following conditions:
•The vehicle is driven with the electric
parking brake (EPB) applied.
•The electric parking
brake (EPB) switch
is pulled while the vehicle is driven.
▼ AUTOHOLD Warning Beep
Warning light flashes/m
essage is displayed
and beep sound is activated
simultaneously for about five seconds
when using AUTOHOLD function or
when AUTOHOLD swi tch is operated.
Because a problem with AUTOHOLD
function has occurred, AUTOHOLD
function does not operate even if
AUTOHOLD switch is operated.
If the warning light flashes/message is
displayed and the beep sound is activated
simultaneously, have your vehicle
inspected at an expert repairer, we
recommend an Authorised Mazda
Repairer.
▼ Power Steering Warning Buzzer
If the power steer
ing system has a
malfunction, the power steering
malfunction light turns on or flashes and
the buzzer operates at the same time.

▼ Tyre Inflation Pressure Warning

The warning beep sound will be heard for
about 3 seconds if the tyre pressures
decrease.

operate, switch the ignition off and then
restart the engine. If the active driving
display does not operate even with the
engine restarted, have the vehicle
inspected at an expert repairer, we

Recording of Vehicle Data
This vehicle is equipped with a computer which records the following main vehicle data
related to vehicle controls, operation, and other driving condi tions.

•Vehicle conditions such as engine speed and vehicle speed
•Driving operation conditions such as accelerator and brake peda ls, and information related
to the environmental circumstances while the vehicle is driven
•Malfunction diagnosis informati on from each on-vehicle computer
•Information related to controls of other on-vehicle computers
NOTE
The recorded data may vary depending on the vehicle grade and optional equipment. Voice
and images are not recorded.
Data handling
Mazda and its subcontracting part ies may obtain and use the recorded data for vehicle
malfunction diagnosis, research and development, and quality improvement.
Mazda will not disclose or provi de any of the obtained data to a third party unless:
•An agreement from the vehicle owner (agreements from lessor and lessee for leased
vehicle) is obtained
•Officially requested by the police or other law enforcement aut horities
•For statistical processing by a research institution after processing the data so that
identification of the owner or the vehicle is impossible
