Jack up the front of the vehicle and support it with safety stands. 2. Remove the undercover. 3. Remove the band for the wheel speed sensor harnes. 4. Remove in the order shown in the figure, referring to Removal Note. Arm (Part of 49 GO34 I AO) 5. Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary. 6. Install in the reverse order of removal. For removal of upper arm ball joint For installation of front lower arm boot For removal and installation of coil spring For removal and installation of coil spring 7. Loosely tighten the shock absorber, upper arm, stabilizer control link, and stabilizer bracket bolts. Tighten all other nuts and bolts to the specified torques. 8. Install the band for the wheel speed sensor. 9. Lower the vehicle. 10. With the vehicle unloaded, tighten the upper arm and shock absorber bolts to the specified torques. - 11. T WARNING LIGHT AND SENDER UNIT TROUBLESHOOTING Check the METER 15A fuse in the fuse box before troubleshooting. WARNING LIGHT AND SENDER UNIT T OHMMETER Washer Level Indicator lnspection 1. Disconnect the connector from the washer level sensor. 2. Jump terminal-wire L (harness side) to a body ground. 3. Start the engine and check that the WASHER indicator illuminates. 4. If there is no illumination, check the bulb, wiring harness, and sensor. Replace or repair as necessary. Washer Level Sensor lnspection 1. Connect the sensor connector (sensor side) to an ohm- meter. 2. Move the sensor float up and down. 3. Verify that there is continuity when the float is at the low- est point. BRAKE FLUID LEVEL SENSOR lnspection 1. Check for continuity of the sensor. 2. T 2 CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM PRESS 45UOTX-209 Inspection Procedure Quick inspection 1. Connect a 1.4W test light between terminals D and F, of the cruise control unit connector. u Note There is no wire in terminal D of the connector. Push the test light through the connector and touch the cor- responding pin on the control unit. 2. Turn the ignition switch to ON. 3. Shift the selector lever to D or R range. 4. Verify that the MAlN switch is off. (The MAlN indicator light will be off .) 5. Turn the RESUMEIACCEL switch and the MAlN switch simultaneously to activate the system inspection. The MAlN indicator light will come on. 6. Operate each switch as described below and obtain the problem code numbers. Note The cruise control system will not operate in self-diag- nosis mode. 7. After retrieving the code(s), press the MAlN switch to deactivate the system inspection. The MAlN indicator light will go off. 8.
