When trouble arises
(If equipped)
Indicates a malfunction in:
• The automatic headlight leveling system;
• The Automatic High Beam system (ifequipped); or
• The LED headlight system (if equipped) A buzzer also sounds.
→ Have the vehicle inspect ed by your Toyota
dealer.
Indicates that maintenance of the hybrid battery
(traction battery) cooling component is required The filter may be clogged, the air intake vents
may be blocked or there may be a gap in the
duct.
If the maintenance is not performed after the
message is displayed, a buzzer will sound.
→ Have maintenance performed on the hybrid
battery (traction batt ery) cooling compo-
nent at your Toyota dealer immediately
after the message is displayed.
Indicates that the insufficient 12-volt battery
charge
→ After a few seconds
*1 the message disap-
pears: Maintain the hybrid system opera-
tion state for approximately 15 minutes or
more to recharge the 12-volt battery.
→ If the message does not disappear: Start
the hybrid system by following the “If the
12-volt battery is discharged” procedure.

Indicates that the washer fluid level is low
→ Add washer fluid.
Indicates that remaining fuel is approximately 2.2
gal. (8.4 L, 1.8 Imp.gal.) or less
→Refuel the vehicle.

Indicates that the outside temperature is approxi-
mately 37°F (3 °C) or lower
A buzzer also sounds
→ Drive carefully, as the road may be icy.

Indicates that all maintenance according to the
driven distance on the maintenance schedule

should be performed soon.
Comes on approximately 4500 miles (7200 km)
after the message has been reset.
→ If necessary, perform maintenance.
(If equipped)
Indicates that all maintenance is required to cor-
respond to the driven distance on the mainte-
nance schedule

Comes on approximately 5000 miles (8000 km)
after the message has been reset. (The mes-
sage will not display properly unless the mes-
sage has been reset.)
→ Perform the necessary maintenance.
Please reset the message after the mainte-
nance is performed. ( →P. 481)

Indicates that, since the VSC (Vehicle Stability
Control) system was turned off, the pre-collision
brake system operation is stopped
→Turn the VSC on. ( →P. 314)

Indicates that the pre-collision system is tempo-
rarily unavailable
→Please wait until the system returns.
If the warning message does not disappear,
the system may be malfunctioning. Have
the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer
immediately.

Indicates that part of the PCS (Pre-Collision Sys-
tem) sensor is dirty, covered with ice, etc.A buzzer also sounds.
→ Remove any dirt, ice, etc.
Air conditioning, heater and other operations are
temporarily limited due to high power consump-
tion
→Turn off unnecessary electronic equipment
to reduce power consumption.
Please wait until the power supply returns
to normal.
If this item is frequently displayed, have the
vehicle inspected at your Toyota dealer
immediately.

(the vehicle is idling, battery charge is low,
speed is higher than the EV drive mode operat-
ing speed range, accelerator pedal is
depressed too much) may be displayed.
A buzzer also sounds.
→ Use the EV drive mode when it becomes
available.

either front door by opening a
door and putting the inside lock
button into the lock position,
then closing the door with the
electronic key still inside the
vehicle.
→Retrieve the electronic key
from the vehicle and lock
the doors again.

• When the doors were
unlocked with the mechanical
key and then the power
switch was pressed, the elec-
tronic key could not be
detected in the vehicle.
• The electronic key could not be detected in the vehicle
even after the power switch
was pressed two consecu-
tive times.
→ Touch the electronic key to
the power switch while
depressing the brake
pedal.
Once⎯
An attempt was made to start
the hybrid system with the shift
lever in an incorrect position.
→Shift the shift lever to P
and start the hybrid sys-
tem.

Power was turned off due to the
automatic power off function.
→Next time when starting
the hybrid system,
increase the engine speed
slightly and maintain that
level for approximately 5
minutes to recharge the
12-volt battery.

When trouble arises
Once⎯
The electronic key has a low
battery.
→Replace the electronic key
battery. ( →P. 522)
Once⎯
The driver’s door was opened
and closed with the power
switch turned off and then the
power switch was put in
ACCESSORY mode twice with-
out the hybrid system being
started.
→Press the power switch
while depressing the brake
pedal.
During a hybrid system starting
procedure in the event that the
electronic key was not function-
ing properly ( →P. 596), the
power switch was touched with
the electronic key.
→ Press the power switch
within 10 seconds of the
buzzer sounding.
Once⎯
The steering lock could not be
released within 3 seconds of
the power switch being
pressed.
→Press the power switch
while depressing the brake
pedal and moving the
steering wheel left and
right.
Once⎯
The power switch has been
turned off with the shift lever in
a position other than P or N.
→Shift the shift lever to P.

In some cases, the buzzer may not be heard because of noisy place or an
audio sound.
Once⎯
After the power switch has
been turned off with the shift
lever in a position other than P,
the shift lever has been shifted
to P.
→ Turn the power switch off.
