Changing the display
Items displayed can be switched by pressing the button (button
shown below).
This operation can also be done with the steering “TRIP” switch.
Odometer
Displays the total distance the vehicle has been driven.
Odometer, trip meter, Stop & Start system operation time, Stop &
Start system total operation time, maintenance required informa-
tion and instrument cluster light control display

Displays the quantity of fuel remaining in the tank

Instrument cluster light control
The brightness of the instrument cluster lights, for when the head-
light switch is on, can be adjusted 5 brightness levels.
Press the display change button.
The button is pressed several times and the brightness control
screen appears.
When the button is pushed for more than 1 second, each second
the screen brightness changes. When the button is released, the
suitable brightness is selected.
The illumination level will be set automatically 10 seconds after the
switch was last pressed.
Pressing the display change button before the 10 seconds have
passed will also set the illumination level.
NOTICE
â– To prevent damage to the engine and its components
â—Ź Do not let the indicator needle of the tachometer enter the red zone, which
indicates the maximum engine speed.
â—Ź The engine may be overheating if the high engine coolant temperature
warning light (Red) flashes or comes on. In this case, immediately stop the
vehicle in a safe place, and check the engine after it has cooled com-

Indicators and warning lights
The indicator and warning lights on the instrument cluster and cen-
ter panel inform the driver of the status of the vehicle’s various sys-
tems.
For the purpose of explanation, the following illustration displays all
indicators and warning lights illuminated.

*: The units used on the speedometer, tachometer and some indicators
may differ depending on the engine, transmission, etc.

*1: These lights turn on when the engine switch is turned to the “ON” posi-
tion (vehicles without smart entry & start system) or the “ENGINE
START STOP” switch is turned to IGNITION ON mode (vehicles with
smart entry & start system) to indicate that a system check is being
performed. They will turn off after the engine is started, or after a few
seconds. There may be a malfunction in a system if a light does not
come on, or if the lights do not turn off. Have the vehicle inspected by
any authorized Toyota dealer or r epairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional for details.
*2: The light flashes to indicate that the system is operating.
*3: Vehicles with a Multidrive
*4: This indicator turns on in blue when the engine coolant temperature is
low.
*5: Vehicles with a manual transmission
*6: The light comes on when the system is turned off.

WARNING
â– If a safety system warning light does not come on
Should a safety system light such as ABS and the SRS airbag warning light
not come on when you start the engine, this could mean that these systems
are not available to help protect you in an accident, which could result in
death or serious injury. Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota
dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional imme-
diately if this occurs.
â– Warning lights
Warning lights inform the driver of malfunctions in any of the
vehicle’s systems. ( P. 542)
*1: These lights turn on when the engine switch is turned to the “ON” posi-

â– Setting the date format
Select “DATE FORMAT” on the menu screen.
Select the desired date format.
Press and hold the “DISP” switch
to input the choice.
â– Selecting the language
Select “LANGUAGE” on the menu screen.
Select the desired language.
Press and hold the “DISP” switch
to input the choice.
â– Setting Eco Driving Indicator Light
Select “ECO INDICATOR” on the menu screen.
Select “OFF” from the displayed
items.
Then keep the switch pressed for
a while.
Eco Driving Indicator Light is
deactivated.
(To activate Eco Driving Indicator
Light, select “ON”.)

â– Eco Driving Indicator Zone Display (if equipped)
When the acceleration exceeds the Zone of Eco driving, the system recog-
nizes that the vehicle is not being dr iven in Eco-friendly manner. Eco Driv-
ing Indicator Light turns off and the right side of Eco Driving Indicator Zone
Display blinks.
Also, the system will not be operated if the following conditions are met
while driving:
● The shift position is anything other than “D”
● The driving mode is set to “SPORT” mode
● The paddle shift switch is operated while the shift lever is in “D”
â—Ź The vehicle speed is approximately 130 km/h (80 mph) or higher
â– Outside temperature display
â—Ź In the following situations, the correct outside temperature may not be
displayed, or the display may take longer than normal to change.
• When stopped, or driving at low speeds (less than 20 km/h [12 mph])
• When the outside temperature has changed suddenly (at the entrance/
exit of a garage, tunnel, etc.)
● When “--” is displayed, the system may be malfunctioning.
Take your vehicle to any authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another
duly qualified and equipped professional.
Eco Driving Indicator indicates the range
where acceleration is Eco-friendly, “Zone
of Eco driving” and Eco driving ratio
based on acceleration.

â– Liquid crystal display
Small spots or light spots may appear on the display. This phenomenon is
characteristic of liquid crystal displays, and there is no problem to continue
using the display.
NOTICE
â– The multi-information display at low temperatures
Allow the interior of the vehicle to warm up before using the liquid crystal
information display. At extremely low temperatures, the information display
monitor may respond slowly, and display changes may be delayed.

Vehicles without smart entry & start system:
Average fuel consumption for the past 15 minutes is divided by
color into past averages and averages attained since the engine
switch was last turned to the “ON” position. Use the displayed
average fuel consumption as a reference.
Vehicles with smart entry & start system:
Average fuel consumption for the past 15 minutes is divided by
color into past averages and averages attained since the “ENGINE
START STOP” switch was last turned to IGNITION ON mode. Use
the displayed average fuel consumption as a reference.
