positionedlowdown.AlwaysuseaseatbeltHeavybrakingcanhaveseriousconse-
quencesiftheseatbeltsarenotused.Ensure
thatallpassengersusetheirseatbelts.Other-
wise,rearseatpassengersmaybethrown
forwardagainstthebacksofthefrontseatsin
acollision.
Puttingonaseatbelt:
–Pullthebeltoutslowlyandsecureitby
pressingthebuckleintothelock.Aloud
"click"indicatesthatthebelthaslocked.Releasingthebelt:
–Presstheredlockbuttonandletthebelt
retract.Ifthebeltdoesnotretractfully,
feedthebeltinbyhandsothatitdoesnot
hanglose.
Thebeltlocksandcannotbewithdrawn:
ifitispulledouttooquickly
duringbrakingandacceleration
ifthecarleansheavily.
Itisimportantthatthebeltliesagainstthe
bodysoitcanprovidemaximumprotection.
Donotleanthebackresttoofarback.The
seatbeltisdesignedtoprotectinanormal
seatingposition.
Keepthefollowinginmind:
donotuseclipsoranythingelsethatcan
preventthebeltfromfittingproperly
ensurethebeltisnotbetwistedor
caughtonanything
thehipstrapmustbepositionedlow
down(notovertheabdomen)
tensionthehipstrapoverthelapby
pullingthediagonalshoulderbeltasillus-
trated.
