DLC3 TERMINALS SPECIFIED CONDITION
HINT:
If the display shows UNABLE TO CONNECT TO VEHICLE when you have connected the cable of the
hand-held tester to the DLC3, turned the ignition switch ON and operated the tester, there is a problem on
the vehicle side or tool side.

1.STEP MOTORS INITIALIZING FUNCTION
STEP motor initializing procedure (Automatic initializing)
1. When the battery is reconnected and the ignition switch is turned to the ON position for the first
time, the initializing function of the STEP motors is activated. In this case, the "FRONT DEF"
indicator blinks.

a. Remove the air inlet servomotor.
b. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 and negative (-) lead to terminal 4, then
check that the lever turns to the "FRESH" position smoothly.
c. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 and negative (-) lead to terminal 5, then
check that the lever turns to the "RECIRCULATION" position smoothly.

3.INSPECT EXHAUST GAS SENSOR
a. Remove the exhaust gas sensor.
b. After keeping to apply battery voltage between terminals 3 and 6 for more than 120 seconds,
measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2.
c. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

a. Remove the water valve servomotor.
b. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and negative (-) lead to terminal 1, then
check that the lever turns to the "OPEN" position smoothly.
c. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and negative (-) lead to terminal 2, then
check that the lever turns to the "SHUT" position smoothly.
