Cruise control

The cruise control is switched on

40  km/h),  as  well  as  the  engagement  of:

earbox,  in  sequential  mode,

osition  A  on  an  electronic  gearbox  or Â

The cruise control is switched off
Â

anually

r  by  pressing  the  brake  or  clutch  pedal  or  on Â
t
riggering  of  the  trajectory  control  systems  for Â
s
afety  reasons.
It
 is  possible  to  exceed  the  programmed  speed Â
t
emporarily  by  pressing  the  accelerator  pedal.
To
 return  to  the  programmed  speed,  simply Â
r
elease  the  accelerator  pedal.
Switching
 off  the  ignition  cancels  any Â
p
rogrammed  speed  value. The
 controls  of  this  system  are  grouped Â
t
ogether  on  stalk  A.

The cruise control cannot, in any
circumstances, replace  the  need  to r

Programming
You can then change the programmed speed using buttons 2 and 3:

hanging  buttons:  this  may  result  in  a Â

ery  rapid  change  in  the  speed  of  your Â
v
ehicle.
Do not use the cruise control on
slippery
 roads  or  in  heavy  traffic.
On
 a  steep  descent,  the  cruise  control Â
w
ill not be able to prevent the vehicle
from
 exceeding  the  programmed  speed.
To
 avoid  any  risk  of  jamming  of  the Â
ped
als:

nsure  that  the  mat  is  secured Â
c
o r r e c t l y,

n
ever  fit  one  mat  on  top  of  another.
In
 the  event  of  a  cruise  control  malfunction, Â
t
he  speed  is  cleared  resulting  in  flashing  of  the  d
ashes.  Have  it  checked  by  a  CITROËN  dealer  o
r  a  qualified  workshop.
Operating fault
Leaving cruise control mode
F Turn  thumb  wheel  1 to the "0" position:  the  cruise  control  mode  is  d
eselected.  The  display  returns  to  the  distance  recorder.
Exceeding the programmed speed
Intentional or unintentional exceeding of the programmed speed results  in  flashing  of  this  speed  in  the  screen.
Return
 to  the  programmed  speed,  by  means  of  intentional  or Â
u
nintentional  deceleration  of  the  vehicle,  automatically  cancels  the Â
f
lashing  of  the  speed.F

This system indicates the proximity of an obstacle  (person,  vehicle,  tree,  gate,  etc.) Â
w
hich  comes  within  the  field  of  detection  of Â
s
ensors  located  in  the  bumper.
Certain
 types  of  obstacle  (stake,  roadworks Â
c
one,  etc.)  detected  initially  will  no  longer  be Â
d
etected  at  the  end  of  the  manoeuvre  due  to Â
t
he  presence  of  blind  spots.
Rear parking sensors
This function cannot, in any
circumstances, take  the  place  of  the  need f
or  vigilance  on  the  part  of  the  driver.The
 system  is  switched  on  by  engaging  reverse Â
g
ear.  This  is  accompanied  by  an  audible  signal.
The  system  is  switched  off  when  you  come  out Â
o
f  reverse  gear.
Audible assistance
The proximity information is given by an i
ntermittent  audible  signal,  the  frequency  of  which i
ncreases  as  the  vehicle  approaches  the  obstacle.
The
 sound  emitted  by  the  speaker  (right  or  left)
 i
ndicates  the  side  on  which  the  obstacle  is  located.
When
 the  distance  between  the  vehicle  and
 t
he  obstacle  becomes  less  than  approximately
 t
hirty  centimetres,  the  audible  signal  becomes
 c
ontinuous.
Visual assistance
This supplements the audible signal by d isplaying  bars  in  the  screen  which  move Â
p
rogressively  nearer  to  the  vehicle.
When
 the  obstacle  is  very  close,  the  "Danger" Â
s
ymbol  is  displayed  in  the  screen.

In bad weather or in winter, ensure that  the  sensors  are  not  covered  with Â
m
ud,  ice  or  snow.  When  reverse  gear  is Â
e
ngaged,  an  audible  signal  (long  beep) Â

ndicates  that  the  sensors  may  be  dirty.
Certain
 sound  sources  (motorcycle, Â
l
orry,  pneumatic  drill,  etc.)  may  trigger Â
t
he  audible  signals  of  the  parking Â

ensor  system.

Snow chains
The system does not have to be reinitialised  after  fitting  or  removing Â

hains. Before
 doing  anything  to  the  system, Â

he  pressures  of  the  four  tyres  must  be Â

hecked  and  the  system  reinitialised.
The

Anti-slip regulation (ASR)
and electronic stability
programme (ESP)
The anti-slip regulation (also known as Traction Control)  optimises  traction  to  prevent  skidding o
f  the  wheels,  by  acting  on  the  brakes  of  the
 d
riving  wheels  and  on  the  engine.
The
 electronic  stability  programme  acts  on  the
 b
rake  of  one  or  more  wheels  and  on  the  engine
 t
o  keep  the  vehicle  on  the  trajectory  required  by
 t
he  driver,  within  the  limits  of  the  laws  of  physics.
This
 is  indicated  by  flashing  of  this Â
w
arning  lamp  in  the  instrument  panel. The
 ASR /ESP  systems  offer Â
e
xceptional  safety  in  normal  driving,  but Â
t
his  should  not  encourage  the  driver  to Â
t
ake  extra  risks  or  drive  at  high  speed.
The
 correct  functioning  of  these Â
s
ystems  depends  on  observation  of Â
t
he
 ma
nufacturer's
 r
ecommendations
 r
egarding  the  wheels  (tyres  and  rims), Â
t
he  braking  components,  the  electronic Â
c
omponents  and  the  assembly Â
a
nd  repair  procedures  used  by  the Â
C
ITROËN  dealer  network.
After
 an  impact,  have  these  systems Â
c
hecked  by  a  CITROËN  dealer  or  a Â

ualified

orkshop.
Operating fault
Illumination of the warning lamp, accompanid  by  a  message  in  the Â

creen  indicates  a  malfunction  of Â

hese  systems.
Reactivation
These systems are reactivated automatically every  time  the  ignition  is  switched  of,  or  from Â

0  mph  (50  km/h).

an  move  freely  and  regain  grip.
Trajectory control systems

These systems are activated automatically each  time  the  vehicle  is  started.

 come  into  operation  in  the  event  of  a  grip Â
