The trip computer is a microcomputer- controlled driver information gauge that displays information related to driving such as outside temperature, tripmeter,average fuel consumption and distance to empty on the LCD.

tance travelled since the last tripmeter reset. Total distance is also reset tozero if the battery is disconnected.
o Pressing the TRIP switch for more
than 1 second when the tripmeter isbeing displayed clears the tripmeter to zero.

3. Average Fuel Consumption

o This mode calculates the average fuel consumption from the total fuel used and the distance since the lastaverage consumption reset.
o The total fuel used is calculated from
the fuel consumption input.
o Average fuel consumption is reset to zero (--) if the battery is discon-nected.
o To reset the average fuel consump- tion to zero (--), press the TRIPswitch for more than 1 second.
o When you drive 0.5 km (0.5 mile) and less after resetting, the average fuelconsumption will be displayed to '--'.

than 50 km (30 miles), the distance to empty digits (----) will blink untilmore fuel is added.
NOTE:
o The distance to empty can differ from the actual tripmeter accord- ing to driving conditions.
o The distance to empty can vary according to the driving condi-tions, driving pattern or vehicle speed.

B340A01A-AAT Combination Turn Signal, Head- light And High-beam SwitchTurn Signal Operation Pulling down on the lever causes the turn signals on the left side of the car to blink. Pushing upwards on the levercauses the turn signals on the right side of the car to blink. As the turn is com- pleted, the lever will automatically re-turn to the center position and turn off the turn signals at the same time. If either turn signal indicator light blinksmore rapidly than usual, goes on but does not blink, or does not go on at all, there is a malfunction in the system.Check for a burned-out fuse or bulb or see your Hyundai dealer. B340B01A-AAT Lane Change Signal To indicate a lane change, move the lever up or down to a point where it begins flashing.The lever will automatically return to the center position when released.

B340C02FC-GAT Headlight Switch
To operate the headlights, turn the bar- rel on the end of the multi-function switch. The first position turns on theparking lights, sidelights, tail lights and instrument panel lights. B340E01A-AAT Headlight Flasher
To flash the headlights, pull the switch lever toward you, then release it. The headlights can be flashed even thoughthe headlight switch is in the "OFF" position.
B340D01A-AAT High-beam Switch
B340F01MC-GAT Daytime Running Lights (If Installed) Your Hyundai is equipped with daytime running lights. The daytime running lights are used to improve visibility for oncoming traffic. Your vehicle daytimerunning lights are designed to remain on continuously when the engine is operat- ing even though the headlight switch isin the "OFF" position. If you turn on the tail lights when the ignition switch is in the "ON" position, the daytime runninglights will go off.
Parking Light Auto Cut (If Installed) If you do not turn the parking lights "OFF" after driving, the parking lightswill automatically shut "OFF" when the driver's door is opened. To turn them "ON" again, you mustsimply turn the ignition key to the "ON" position.

To turn on the headlight high beams, push the lever forward (away from you). The high beam indicator light will come on at the same time. For low beams,pull the lever back toward you.OMC025059

To use the windshield washer, pull the wiper/washer lever toward the steeringwheel. When the washer lever is oper- ated, the wipers automatically make two passes across the windshield. Thewasher continues to operate until the lever is released.

B350A01A-AAT The windshield wiper switch has three positions:
1. Intermittent wiper operation
2. Low-speed operation
3. High-speed operation NOTE: To prevent damage to the wiper sys- tem, do not attempt to wipe away heavy accumulations of snow or ice.Accumulated snow and ice should be removed manually. If there is only a light layer of snow or ice, operatethe heater in the defrost mode to melt the snow or ice before using the wiper.

Mist Wiper Operation
NOTE:
o Do not operate the washer more
than 15 seconds at a time or when the fluid reservoir is empty.
o In icy or freezing weather, be sure the wiper blades are not frozen tothe glass prior to operating thewipers.
o In areas where water freezes in
winter, use windshield washerantifreeze.
If a single wipe is desired in mist, push the windshield wiper and washer control lever upwards.

B350C01MC-AAT Adjustable Intermittent Wiper Operation To use the intermittent wiper feature, place the wiper switch in the "INT" position. With the switch in this posi-tion, the interval between wipes can be varied from approximately 1 to 15 sec- onds by turning the interval adjusterbarrel.

1. : The washer fluid will be sprayed onto the rear window and the wiper operates while the rear windowwiper barrel is placed in this posi- tion.
2.ON : The rear window wiper starts to operate continuously.
3.OFF NOTE: Do not operate the washer continu- ously for more than 15 seconds or when the fluid reservoir is empty;this could damage the system. Do not operate the wiper when the win- dow is dry; this can result in scratch-ing as well as premature wiper blade wear.

To adjust the headlight beam level ac- cording to the number of the passen-gers and the loading weight in the lug- gage area, turn the beam leveling switch. The higher the number of the switchposition, the lower the headlight beam level. Always keep the headlight beam at the proper leveling position, or head-lights may dazzle other road users. Listed below are the examples of proper switch settings. For loading conditionsother than those listed below, adjust the switch position so that the beam level may be the nearest as the conditionobtained according to the list.
HAZARD WARNING SYSTEM

The hazard warning system should be used whenever you find it necessary to stop the car in a hazardous location. When you must make such an emer-gency stop, always pull off the road as far as possible. The hazard warning lights are turned onby pushing in the hazard switch. This causes all turn signal lights to blink. The hazard warning lights will operateeven though the key is not in the igni- tion. To turn the hazard warning lights off,push the switch a second time.

75FOG LIGHT SWITCH
B360B01FC-GAT Front Fog Light Switch (If Installed) To turn on the front fog lights, push the switch in the "ON" position. They will light when the headlight switch is in thefirst or second position.
CAUTION:
Do not clean the inner side of the rearwindow glass with an abrasive type of glass cleaner or use a scraper to remove foreign deposits from theinner surface of the glass as this may cause damage to the defroster ele- ments. NOTE: The ignition must be in the "ON" position for the rear window defroster to operate.

REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER SWITCH
B380A01HP-AAT The rear window defroster and heated outside rearview mirrors are turned on by pushing in the switch. To turn thedefroster off, push the switch a second time. The rear window defroster auto- matically turns itself off after about 20minutes. To restart the defroster cycle, push in the switch again after it has turned itself off.

B400A01A-AAT There are three control buttons for the digital clock. Their functions are: HOUR - Push "H" to advance the hour
indicated. MIN - Push "M" to advance the minute
indicated.RESET - Push "R" to reset minutes to
":00" to facilitate resetting the clock to the correct time. When this is done: Pressing "R" between 10 : 30 and 11 : 29 changes the readout to 11 : 00. Pressing "R" between 11 : 30 and 12 :29 changes the readout to 12 : 00.CIGARETTE LIGHTER

For the cigarette lighter to work, the key must be in the "ACC" position or the "ON" position. To use the cigarette lighter, push it allthe way into its socket. When the ele- ment has heated, the lighter will pop out to the "ready" position.Do not hold the cigarette lighter pressed in. This can damage the heating ele- ment and create a fire hazard.If it is necessary to replace the ciga- rette lighter, use only a genuine Hyundai replacement or its approved equivalent. HHR2098A
