Refit the drive belt to the generator and accessory drive.
Locat
e the belt around the pulleys, except the generator
pulley.
1. Use a spanner e.g. Churchill JD - 230 or Snap On XDHM 1415, on the centre bo lt of the belt tensioner
idler pulley, to turn the adju ster assembly to the left
against spring tension.
2. Whilst holding the tensioner against spring tension, connect the drive belt to the generator pulley.
Release the tensioner sl owly and remove the
spanner.

Tighten the three screws wh ich secure the water pump
pulley, to 10-14 Nm.

Connect the top hose to the coolant outlet pipe.
1. Connect the top hose. Reposition the hose clip and tighten.

Connect the radiator top hose.
1. Connect the hose to the radiator.
2. Reposition the clip along the hose and tighten the clip.
25. Reset the bonnet to the normal position and connect the gas
struts.
26. Connect the battery and fit the battery cover.
Re
fer to the Battery Reconnection Procedure 86.15.15.
27. Refill the cooling system. Refer to Operation 26.10.01.

Remove the paintwork protection sheets and close the engine
compartment.

16. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the throttle body.
Release the clip which secures the coolant return hose and
disconnect the hose. Fit a blanking plug to the hose to
prevent water leakage.
Release the clip which secures the coolant feed hose and
disconnect the hose. Fit a blanking plug to the hose to
prevent water leakage.

17. Disconnect the multi-plug, located on the bracket under the
left side of th e throttle body.

18. Remove the throttle bo dy securing bolts.
19. Remove the throttle body.
1. Remove the throttle body from the induction elbow.
2. Remove and discard the throttle body gasket.

17. Fit the throttle body securing bolts.

18. Reconnect the multi-plug, located on the bracket under the
left side of th e throttle body.

19. Connect the coolant hoses to the throttle body.
Remove the blanking plugs from the hoses.
Connect the coolant feed hose and secure with the clip.
Connect the coolant return hose and secure with the clip.
20. CAUTION: Under no circumstances may the quadrant be
held clear of the throttle stop by cable tension
Refit the throttle cable and ensure that there is neither tension
nor slack in the cable

16. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the throttle body.
Release the clip which secures the coolant return hose and
disconnect the hose. Fit a blanking plug to the hose to
prevent water leakage.
Release the clip which secures the coolant feed hose and
disconnect the hose. Fit a blanking plug to the hose to
prevent water leakage.

17. Disconnect the multi-plug, located on the bracket under the
left side of th e throttle body.

18. Remove the throttle bo dy securing bolts.
19. Remove the throttle body.
1. Remove the throttle body from the induction elbow.
2. Remove and discard the throttle body gasket.

11. Reconnect the multi-plug, located on the bracket under the
left side of th e throttle body.

12. Connect the coolant hoses to the throttle body.
Remove the blanking plugs from the hoses.
Connect the coolant feed hose and secure with the clip.
Connect the coolant return hose and secure with the clip.

13. CAUTION: Under no circumstances may the quadrant be held clear of the throttle stop by cable tension
Refit the throttle cable and ensure that there is neither tension
nor slack in the cable
Tighten the locknut without altering the setting or
introducing twist into the cable outer
Check the kickdown setting us ing the PDU. For scan tool
procedure, refer to 303-14 , Throttle cable, Renew
14. Reconnect the multi-plugs to the throttle body.
1. Connect the throttle body motor multi-plug.
2. Connect the two potentiometer multi-plugs, one each side of the throttle.

In-vehicle Repair
Removal
WARNING: BEFORE PROCEEDING, IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THE WARNINGS GIVEN IN SECTION 100-00 (UNDER THE
HEADING 'SAFETY PRECAUTIONS') ARE READ AND UNDERSTOOD. 1.
Open the engine compartment and fit paintwork protection
sheets.

2. Disconnect the batt ery ground cable.
Remove the battery cover.

3. Depressurise the fuel system.
Ensure that the ignition is switched off and remove the
valve cap from the fuel cross-over pipe. Place a cloth
under the valve to collect any spillage.
Place a closed container, su itable for collecting fuel,
adjacent to the vehicle. Remove the lid.

4. Connect the fuel injection pres sure test equipment 310 - 058
(or other suitable type). Insert the drain / bleed tube into the
fuel container. Follow the ma nufacturer's instructions and
depressurise the fuel system.
5. Store the drained fuel safely and ensure that the lid is closed
securely. Remove the equipmen t and discard the cloth from
beneath the valve. refit the valve cap.
6. Drain the radiator coolant. Refer to Operation 26.10.01.
7. Disconnect the breather pipe fro m the A-Bank camshaft cover.
1. Disconnect the breather pipe from the stub pipe.
2. Remove and discard the O-ring seal from the breather

Installation

15. Remove the supercharger outlet duct and gasket. Refer to
Operation 18.50.17.
16. Remove the coolant output pipe. Refer to Operation (SC)
26.31.08.
17. Remove the supercharger driv e belt. Refer to Operation
18.50.08.
18. Remove the supercharger as sembly. Refer to operation
18.50.15.
19. Remove the B-Bank intercooler. Refer to Operation 18.50.19.

20. Disconnect the fuel injector harness.
1. Disconnect the multi-plugs from the B-Bank injectors.

2. Loosen, do not remove, the nuts which secure the
harness to the camshaft cover.
3. Reposition the harness for access.

21. Remove the fuel rail.
1. Remove the three bolts whic h secure the fuel rail to
the intercooler adaptor.
2. Remove the fuel rail from the adaptor; still connected
to the fuel crossover pi pe and fuel feed pipe.

22. Remove the intercoole r adaptor assembly.
1. Remove and discard the seals from the fuel rail.
2. Remove the five bolts which secure the adaptor
assembly to the cylinder head.
3. Remove the adaptor assembly from the cylinder head.
Remove the gasket; adaptor assembly to cylinder head.
23. Clean and inspect all relevant mating faces.
1. Fit the intercooler adaptor assembly.
1. Fit a new gasket; adaptor assembly to cylinder head.
2. Align and fit the adaptor assembly to the cylinder head.

3. Fit the five bolts which secure the adaptor assembly to the cylinder head.
4. Fit new seals to the fuel rail.

2. Fit the fuel rail to the intercooler adaptor.
1. Align the fuel rail to the adaptor; still connected to the fuel crossover pipe and fuel feed pipe. Locate the
fuel rail into the adaptor.
2. Fit the three bolts which secure the fuel rail to the adaptor.

3. Connect the fuel injector harness.
1. Reposition the harness.
2. Tighten the nuts which secure the harness to the
camshaft cover.
3. Connect the multi-plugs to the B-Bank injectors.
4. Fit the B-Bank intercooler. Refer to Operation 18.50.19.
5. Fit the supercharger assembly. Refer to operation 18.50.15.
6. Fit the supercharger drive belt . Refer to Operation 18.50.08.
7. Fit the coolant output pipe. Refer to Operation (SC) 26.31.08.
8. Fit the throttle induction elbow. Refer to Operation 19.70.28.
9. Fit the throttle housing. Refer to Operation 19.70.04.
10. Fit the supercharger outlet duct and gasket. Refer to
Operation 18.50.17.
11. Fit the intake tube / air flow meter / air cleaner cover
assembly.
1. Fit a new rubber seal; air in take tube to throttle body.

2. Fit the intake tube / air flow meter / air cleaner cover
assembly.

In-vehicle Repair
Removal
WARNING: BEFORE PROCEEDING, IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THE WARNINGS GIVEN IN SECTION 100-00 (UNDER THE
