Replacement Bumper Covers
Replacement covers are supplied in a primed condition and must be finished to match the vehicle in accordance with the
procedures included in this section..
New bumper covers and replacem ent fixings such as bumper beam adjusters an d guide blocks must be fitted and adjusted
as detailed in the Bumper Setting Dimensions drawings.
Front Bumper Setting Dimensions

lever mechanism driven by an electric motor. A sliding roof control module (SRCM) controls the motor in response to
selections made on the roof console switch , or input from the security system for automatic closing. Both the motor and the SRCM are accessed by removing the roof console.In the event of an electrical failure the sliding roof can be manually
operated. This is achieved by inserting a wide bladed screwdriver into a slot in the motor drive gear and turning clockwise to open or counter clockwise to close the sliding roof.
• NOTE: The drive gear becomes disengaged from the motor during manual operation. Before restoring electrical operation
the drive gear must be rotated one quarter turn in the reverse direction to re-engage the motor.
The SRCM is held in position by clips and has two electrical connectors in terfacing with the motor and the roof console
switch/security system. Prior to installing a new SRCM, the sun ro of must be in a neutral closed position. This provides the
SRCM with a sliding roof datum, to ensure accurate and consistent operation. Obstacle sensin g operates on closing in the
slide mode only. If the sliding roof lid encounters an ob struction between 4mm and 200mm from the closed position, the
SRCM detects increased motor load and reve rses the motor, driving the sliding roof to the fully open position. The sliding
roof lid surround seal has a metal inner sect ion which will deform on removal. If removed, this seal must be discarded and a
new seal must be installed on the lid using a Jaguar approved crimping tool.

Tie-Rod-End Taper Separator

Engine Support Beam

1. Position vehicle on a four-post lift.
2. Raise front of vehicle and support on stands.
3. Remove battery cover and disc onnect ground cable from
battery terminal. Refer to section 86.15.15.
4. Open hood to service position, and fit covers to fenders.

5. Remove both engine covers (nor mally aspirated vehicles only).
Release pegs.
Remove covers.
6. Remove air intake tube/meter/ cleaner cover assembly. Refer
to 19.10.30

7. Support weight of engine.
1. Position special tool 303-021 in RH and LH fender channels and tighte n beam fixings.
2. Engage hooks in the en gine front lifting eyes.
3. Tighten hook adjustment nuts until weight of engine is supported.

1. Position vehicle on a four-post lift.
2. Remove ignition key and en gage steering column lock.
3. Open hood to service position, and fit covers to fenders.
4. Remove battery cover and disc onnect ground cable from
battery terminal. Refer to 86.15.19.

5. Remove both engine covers (nor mally aspirated vehicles only).
Release pegs.
Remove covers.
6. Remove air intake tube/meter/ cleaner cover assembly. Refer
to 19.10.30
7. Remove air intake tube/meter/ cleaner cover assembly. Refer
to 19.10.30
8. Support weight of engine.
1. Position special tool 303-021 in RH and LH fender channels and tighte n beam fixings.

1. Position vehicle on a four-post lift.

1. Raise vehicle on a four-post li ft. Refer to section 100-02.

2. Remove subframe to differentia l-casing rear bracket bolts.

3. Where fitted, remove bolts se curing fuel vapor pipe to
subframe.

4. Remove subframe to differential bracket front nuts and bolts.
5. Support the differential assembly.
Position a jack under the differential drive coupling.
Position a piece of wood between the jack and the
differential drive coupling.
Raise the jack until the diffe rential is just supported.

Remover/Replacer Suspension Bushes
204-116 (JD 143A)

Remover/Replacer Adaptor
204-116-06 (JD143-6B)
1. Remove suspension subframe fro m vehicle. Refer to 64.25.20.

2. Position special tool 204-116 on the press-bed, with recesses
uppermost.

3. Remove nut and washer from tool.
Position tool on bush with recesses accommodating the
bush rebound stops.
Fit washer to tool and fit and finger tighten nut.
4. Invert subframe and position assembly on special tool 204-
116, with subframe located in the recess.
