Lancia Code sy stem failure (amber)
This warning light (or symbol on the display ),
when on cons tantly with the ignition key turned
to MAR, indicates a possible failure ( see “Lancia
Code system”).
If the

ing with engine running, this means that the car is not pro-
tected by the engine immobilis er device (see “Lancia
Code system”).
Contact a Lancia Dealer ship to have all the keys pro-
grammed.
Alarm failure
(for vers ions/markets , where provided)
A failure in the alarm system is s ignalled by this warning
light (or symbol in the display) switching on. Contact a
Lancia Dealer ship as soon as possible.
The dis play shows the dedicated message.
Break in attempt
(for vers ions/markets , where provided)
This warning light (or symbol on the dis play) switches on
when a br

warns the driver and s ignals the possibility of the tyre be-
ing dangerous ly deflated and a probable puncture (s ee para-
graph “TPMS ” in this chapter).
IMPORTANT Do not continue driving with one or more
flat tyre s as handling may be compromised. Stop the car,
avoiding har sh braking or steering manoeuvres. Replace
the wheel immediately with the space-saver wheel (for
vers ions /markets wher
e provided) or carr y out a repair
u sing the dedicated kit ( see “Changing a wheel” in the
chapter “4”) and contact a Lancia Dealer ship as s oon

Deactivating the device
The device deactivates automatically by:
❍ opening the driver’ s door us ing the metal ins ert;

battery is flat, the device can only be disengaged by
using the metal insert in either of the door locks.
ALARM

❍ movement ins ide the passenger compartment (volu-
metric protection);
❍ when the vehicle is lifted or tilted.
Depending on the market, the activation of the alarm cau s-
e s the activation of the siren and the direction indicator s
(for about 26 s econds). Alarm tripping and the number
of cy cles depend on the s ales market.
There is a maximum number of acous tic/visual cy cles.
When this is r
eached the system returns to normal oper-
ation.
The volume s ensing and anti-lift protection can be ex-
cluded by adjusting the dedicated control on the front roof
light (s ee “Volumetric/anti-lift protection”).

MAINTENANCE AND CARE
USEFUL ADVICE FOR EXTENDING THE LIFE OF
YOUR BATTERY
To avoid draining your battery and make it last longer,
observe the following instructions:
❍when you park the car, ensure the doors, tailgate and
bonnet are closed properly, to prevent any light from
remaining on inside the passenger compartment;
❍turn off the internal roof lights, although the car does
have an automatic system for switching off internal
lights;
❍do not leave devices (e.g. car radio, hazard warning
lights, etc.) switched on for a long time when the en-
gine is not running;
❍before performing any operation on the electrical sys-
tem, disconnect the negative battery cable;
❍battery termi
nals should always be perfectly tightened.
IMPORTANT If the charge level remains under 50% for
a long time, the battery is damaged by sulphation, re-
ducing its capacity and efficiency at start-up.The battery will also be more at risk of freezing (this can
happen as early as –10°C). In case of prolonged idling, re-
fer to the “Car inactivity” paragraph, in chapter “3”.
If, after purchasing your car, you decide to install electri-
cal accessories which require a permanent electric power
supply (alarm, etc.) or accessories which have a serious
impact on the electrical balance, contact a Lancia Deal-
ership: their qualifi
ed personnel will suggest the most suit-
able Lancia Lineaccessori devices and assess the overall
electric consumption, checking whether the car’s electri-
cal system can cope or whether a more powerful battery
is required.
Since some of these devices continue to consume electric-
ity even when the engine is off, they gradually run down
the battery.
