T AUDIO BALANCE CONTROL 45UOTX-24' Table 1 Step 4 Locate the faulty speaker(s) by using the balance control. 1. Turn the ignition switch to ACC. 2. Play a prerecorded tape, and set the volume to the cen- ..-, ter position. 3. Set the balance control as shown in Table 1. 4. Check operation of each speaker. 5. AUDIO T Step 7 1. Disconnect the audio unit connector (12-pin). 2. Check for continuity between the audio unit connector and door speaker connector. Turn the ignition switch to ACC. 2. Play a prerecorded tape, and set the volume to the ten- ter position. .- 3. Set the head restraint speaker volume, and balance controls as shown in Table 2. Check operation of each speaker. 4. From results of Table 2 testing, go to the next step. Verify speaker operation with the balance, treble, bass, and fader knobs in the positions indicated in Table 1. 4. T AUDIO / SNAP-RING OUN TlNG NUT BROKEN Antenna Mast Removal / Installation 1. Using snap-ring pliers, remove the mounting nut. 2. With the ignition switch at ACC or ON, turn the radio switch on, and pull out the antenna mast. Check the end of the plastic rack for damage. If the rack end is kinked or broken, replace the motor. 3. With the ignition switch at ACC or ON and the radio on, feed the rack of the new mast into the motor with toothed side facing toward the front of the vehicle. Turn the radio off. While the motor is retracting the rack, feed the mast into the motor. 4. Reinstall the mounting nut. 5. With the ignition switch at ACC or ON, turn the radio on and off a few times and check to see that the antenna op- erates smoothly. Gartner Banana
