The main switch located on the driver’s doorcan be used to operate all the windows.A window can be opened or closed by operat-ing the corresponding switch.Press the switch down to open the window,and pull up the switch to close it.If the driver’s door window switch is fullypressed down/pulled up, the driver’s doorwindow automatically opens/closes com-pletely.If you want to stop the window movement,operate the switch lightly in the reverse direc-tion.

Wind buffeting can be described as the per-ception of pressure on the ears or a boomingor rumbling sound. Your vehicle may exhibitwind buffeting when driving with one or bothrear door windows down or partially opened.This is a normal occurrence that can be mini-mized. If the buffeting

door windows open, open the front door win-dows as well as the rear door windows tominimize the condition.

trapped in the door window opening.

the door window opening.Do not deliberately trap your hands or headin order to activate the safety mechanism.Your hand or head coul
d be trapped and per-

The safety mechanism can be activated if thedriving conditions or
other circumstances
cause the door window to be subjected to aphysical shock similar to that caused bytrapped hand or head.If the battery terminals are disconnected orthe fuse for power window is replaced, thesafety mechanism will
be cancelled and the
door window will not automaticallyopen/close completely.If the window is open,
repeatedly raise the
driver’s door window switch until the win-dow has been fully closed.Following this, release the switch, raise theswitch once again and hold it in this condi-tion for at least 1 second, then release it. Youshould now be able to operate the driver’sdoor window in the normal function.CAUTION

Press the switch (1), the sunroof automati-cally opens.To stop the moving sunroof, press the switch.Press the switch (3), the sunroof automati-cally closes.To stop the moving sunroof, press the switch.When the switch (2) is pressed, the rear of thesunroof raises for ventilation.Press the switch (3).
The sunroof can be operated when the igni-tion switch or the operation mode is in ON.The sunroof can be opened or closed for a 30-second period after th
e engine is stopped.
However, when the driver’s door or the frontpassenger door is opene
d, the sunroof cannot
be operated. Turn on the ignition switch againto operate.If a hand or head is trapped in the closingsunroof opening, the safety mechanism willcause the sunroof to re-open automatically.The opened sunroof will
become operational
again after a few seconds.If the safety mechanism is activated 5 ormore times consecutively, normal closing ofthe sunroof will be aborted.As an emergency measure, the sunroof can beclosed bit by bit until the sunroof is com-pletely closed by re
peatedly pressing the
switch (2).
After that, the sunroof can be set the initial-ized state in the following procedure.1. Move the sunroof
in slide open position.
2. Press the tilt up switch (2) continually in10 seconds.3. The sunroof will be moved to tilt up posi-tion automatically bit by bit.4. The initialize is completed when the sun-roof is stopped at tilt up position.If the sunroof does not return to normal,consult an authorized Mitsubishi Motorsdealer.

The sunroof stops just before reaching thefully open position. If
the vehicle is driven
with the sunroof in this position, wind buf-feting is lower than with the sunroof fullyopen.

age to the sunroof.Release the switch when the sunroof hasreached a completely open or completelyclosed position.If the sunroof does not operate when the sun-roof switch is operated, release the switchand check whether something is trapped bythe sunroof. If nothing is trapped, have thesunroof checked at an authorized MitsubishiMotors dealer.Be careful when tilting up the sunroof if a skicarrier or a roof carrie
r is installed. Depend-
ing on the model of ski carrier or roof carrier,the sunroof may contact
the carrier when the
sunroof is tilted up.Be sure to close the sunroof completelywhen washing the vehicle or when leavingthe vehicle.Do not put any wax on the weatherstrip(black rubber) around the sunroof opening. Ifit is waxed, the weat
herstrip cannot maintain
a weatherproof seal with the sunroof.After washing the vehicle or after rain besure to wipe off any water that is on the sun-roof before operating it.
Operating the sunroof repeatedly with theengine turned off will run down the battery.Operate the sunroof only while the engine isrunning.

When the parking brake is applied, the brakewarning light (red) in
the instrument cluster
and the indicator light (A) on the Electricparking brake switch will come on.When parking on a hill, set the parking brake,and turn the front wheels toward the curb on adownhill, or away from
the curb on an uphill.
NOTE
You may hear an operation noise from thevehicle body when operating the Electricparking brake. This do
es not indicate a mal-
function and the Elec
tric parking brake is
operating normally.When the battery is weak or dead, the Elec-tric parking brake cannot be applied orreleased. Refer to “Jum
p-starting the engine”
on page 8-2.You may feel the brake pedal moving whenoperating the Electr
ic parking brake.
This does not indi
cate a malfunction.
To apply
1. Stop the vehicle completely.2. Pull up the Electric parking brake switch
while depressing the brake pedal.
CAUTIONWhile the vehicle is in motion, do not applythe Electric parking
brake. Doing so may
cause overheating and/or
premature wear of
brake parts, reducing brake performance. NOTE
If the Electric parking
brake must be applied
in an emergency situa
tion, pull and hold the
Electric parking brake
switch to apply the
Electric parking brake. At that time, the fol-lowing warning display
will appear in the
multi-information disp
lay and a buzzer will
sound, however you should continue to pulland hold the Electric
parking brake switch.
When parking on stee
p grades, pull up the
Electric parking brak
e switch twice (once
more after the operati
on is completed once).
The maximum effect of the parking brakewill be obtained.If the parking brake does not hold the vehiclestationary after the f
oot brake is released,
contact an authorized Mitsubishi Motorsdealer or a repair fa
cility of your choice.
When the operation mode is other than ON,if the Electric parking brake is applied, theElectric parking brake
indicator light comes
on for a while.If the Electric parking brake switch is repeat-edly operated in a short time, the followingwarning display will appear in the multi-information display and the Electric parkingbrake will temporarily stop working. In suchcase, wait for approxima
tely 1 minute until
the warning display di
sappears, and operate
the Electric parking
brake switch again.
The brake warning light (red) and the indica-tor light on the Electric
parking brake switch
may blink. This does no
t indicate a malfunc-
tion, the lights go off when/if the Electricparking brake is released.NOTE

The day/night knob (A) at
the bottom of the
mirror can be used to adjust the mirror toreduce the glare from the headlights of vehi-cles behind you during night driving.
When the headlights of the vehicles behindyou are very bright, the reflection factor ofthe rearview mirror is automatically changedto reduce the glare.Normally, use the automatic mode. When theignition switch is turned to the “ON” positionor the operation mode is put in ON, thereflection factor of the mirror is automaticallychanged.
