1 CHECK INPUT SIGNAL (With CONSULT-II)

1. Start engine.
2. Select ªTCM INPUT SIGNALSº in ªDATA MONITORº mode for ªCVTº with CONSULT-II.

3. Read out the value of ªVEHICLE SPEEDº while driving.
Check the value changes according to driving speed.

2 CHECK SECONDARY SPEED SENSOR (With CONSULT-II)

1. Start engine.

4 CHECK TCM INSPECTION
1. Perform TCM input/output signal inspection.
2. If NG, recheck TCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.

malfunction is eliminated.
With CONSULT-IINLAT0254S03011) Start engine.
2) Select ªSELF-DIAG RESULTSº mode for CVT with CONSULT-
II.
3) Drive vehicle under the following conditions:
Selector lever in ªDº position and vehicle speed higher than 20
km/h (12 MPH).
Without CONSULT-IINLAT0254S03021) Start engine.
2) Drive vehicle under the following conditions:
Selector lever in ªDº position and vehicle speed higher than 20
km/h (12 MPH).
3) Perform self-diagnosis.

DescriptionNLAT0257+Throttle position sensor
The throttle position sensor detects the throttle valve position
and sends a signal to the TCM.
+Throttle position switch
Consists of a wide open throttle position switch and a closed
throttle position switch.
The wide open throttle position switch sends a signal to the
TCM when the throttle valve is open at least 1/2 of the full
throttle position. The closed throttle position switch sends a
signal to the TCM when the throttle valve is fully closed.
