The effect of this is a reduction in the
r e s i s t a n c e o f t h e p e d a l a n d a n i n c r e a s e
i n b r a k i n g e f i c i e n c y .

t i o n p r o c e d u r e s .
A f t e r a n i m p a c t , h a v e t h e s e s y s t e m s
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Disarming
I n e x c e p t i o n a l c o n d i t i o n s ( s t a r t i n g a
v e h i c l e w h i c h i s b o g g e d d o w n , s t u c k
i n s n o w , o n s o f t g r o u n d , . . . ) , i t m a y b e
advisable to disarm the ASR and ESP
s y s t e m s , s o t h a t t h e w h e e l s c a n m o v e
f r e e l y a n d r e g a i n g r i p .
Press the "ESP OFF" b u t t o n , l o c a t -
ed in the centre of the fascia.
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t c o m e s o n o n t h e i n s t r u -
m e n t p a n e l a n d t h e i n d i c a t o r l i g h t o n t h e
button comes on, this indicates that the
ASR and ESP systems are disarmed.
Reactivation
T h e s e s y s t e m s a r e r e a c t i v a t e d a u t o m a t -
i c a l l y e a c h t i m e t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d
b a c k o n o r f r o m 3 0 m p h ( 5 0 k m / h ) .
Press the "ESP OFF" button again
to reactivate them manually. Operating fault
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t c o m e s o n ,
a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g -
n a l a n d a m e s s a g e o n t h e m u l -
t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y , t h i s i n d i c a t e s
a malfunction of these systems.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have the
systems checked.
