Vehicle recovery


Before doing any work, with the ignition on, press the brake pedal and put the gear selector toposition N, then switch off the hybrid system.
If necessary because access to the vehicle is difficult, it can be moved a few dozen metres at a speed not exceeding 6 mph (10 km/h).

Th
e front or rear wheels must not be on theground, use a flat-bed lorry or trailer to recover
the vehicle.
Use the towing eyes only to pull a vehicle out or
to pull it onto a flat-bed.

Towing a trailer


We recommend the use of genuine PEUGEOT towbars and their harnesses that have been tested and approvedfrom the design stage of your vehicle,and that the fitting of the towbar isentrusted to a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.
If the towbar is not fitted by aPEUGEOT dealer, it is imperative that it is fitted in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's instructions. T
owbar suitable for the attachment of atrailer or installation of a bicycle carrier, with additional lighting and signalling.
Blanking cover

When towing, you must remove the blankingcover if your vehicle has one.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop for this.


Driving with a trailer places greater demands on the towing vehicle and the
driver must take par ticular care.
Maximum trailer weight
You must not tow a trailer weighing more than 800 kg. Your vehicle is primaril
y designed for
transporting people and luggage, but it mayalso be used for towing a trailer.

Driving advice


Distribution of loads
)Distribute the load in the trailer so that theheaviest items are as close as possible to
the axle and the nose weight approaches the maximum permitted without exceeding it.
Air density decreases with altitude, thus
reducing engine performance. Above
1 000 metres, the maximum towed load must
be reduced by 10
% for every 1 000 metres of altitude.

Side wind
)Take into account the increased sensitivity
to side wind.
Cooling
To w i ng a trailer on a slope increases the
temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electricall
y controlled, its cooling capacity is not dependent on the engine speed. )
To lower the engine speed, reduce your speed. The maximum towed load on a long incline
depends on the gradient and the ambient
tem
perature.
In all cases, keep a check on the coolant
temperature.
)If the warning lamp and the STOPwarning lamp come on, stop the
vehicle and switch off the engine
as soon as possible.



Braking

To w i ng a trailer increases the braking distance.
To avoid overheating of the brakes on a long
mountain type of descent, the use of enginebraking is recommended.


Tyres
)
Check the tyre pressures of the towingvehicle and of the trailer, obser ving the
recommended pressures.



Lighting
)
Check the electrical lighting and signalling on the trailer.


The rear parking sensors will be deactivated automatically if a genuinePEUGEOT towbar is used.

Fitting roof bars


Maximum authorised weight on the roof rack, for a loading height not exceeding40 cm (with the exception of bicycle carriers): 100
kg
If the height exceeds 40 cm, adapt thespeed of the vehicle to the profile of theroad to avoid damaging the roof bars and the fixings on the roof.
Be sure to refer to national legislation in order to comply with the regulations for transporting objects which are longer than the vehicle.
When
fitting transverse roof bars, take care toalign them with the marks on the longitudinal bars.
Use accessories recommended by PEUGEOT obser ving the manufacturer's recommendations and fitting instructions so as to avoid the risk of damaging the body (deformation, scratches, ...).

Installation of radio communication transmitters

Before installing any after-market radiocommunication transmitter, you can contact a PEUGEOT dealer for thespecification of transmitters which can be fitted (frequency, maximum power, aerial position, specific installation
requirements), in line with the Vehicle Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (2004/10 4/EC).
Depending on the legislation in force in the country, it may be compulsoryto have a high visibility safety vest,warning triangle and spare bulbs andfuses available in the vehicle.
You can also obtain products
for cleaning and
maintenance (exterior and interior) and toppingup fluids (screenwash, ...), as well as refills(cartridge for temporary tyre repair kit...) fromPEUGEOT dealers.

Opening the bonnet


Opening
)From inside
: pull the release lever, located on the left below the dashboard, towards you.
Before doing anything under the bonnet,switch off the ignition (Readylamp off) to avoid any risk of injury resulting from automatic operation of the engine.


Closing
)Lower the bonnet and release it at the end of its travel. )Check that it is latched correctly.


)From the outside: lift the safety catch and raise the bonnet.
A bonnet strut opens the bonnet and holds itopen.


Never touch, handle or remove the orange "high voltage" cables.

On vehicle fitted with HDi engines, the fuel system must be primed if you run out of fuel;
refer to the corresponding engine compar tment
view.











Running out of fuel (Diesel)


If the tank on your vehicle is fitted witha misfuel prevention device, refer to the"Misfuel prevention (Diesel)" section.
)
Fill the fuel tank with at least five litres of Diesel. )
Open the bonnet.)
If necessary, unclip the style cover for
access to the priming pump.) Slacken the bleed screw. )
Squeeze and release the priming pumprepeatedly until fuel appears in the
transparent pipe.) Tighten the bleed screw. )
Operate the star ter until the engine starts(if the engine fails to star t at the first
attempt, wait around 15 seconds before
tr
ying again). ) If the engine fails to star t after a few
attempts, operate the priming pump again,
then the starter. ) Put the style cover back in position and clip it in place, ensuring that it has clipped correctly. )
Close the bonnet.
2 litre HDi engine


If the engine does not star t first time, don't keep trying. Star t the procedure again from the beginning.
