Driving
6Gear shift indicator
Depending on version or engine, this system
reduces fuel consumption by recommending a
higher gear change.
Gear shift recommendations should not be
considered compulsory. In fact, the road layout,
the traffic density and safety remain the deciding
factors when choosing the best gear. The driver
therefore remains responsible for deciding
whether or not to follow the indications issued by
the system.
The system cannot be deactivated.
Operation
The information appears in the instrument panel screen in the form of the SHIFT
indicator, accompanied by an upward arrow to
signal to the driver that they can change up.
The system adapts its gear shift recommendation according to the driving
conditions (slope, load, etc.) and the driver’s
requirements (power, acceleration, braking,
etc.).
The system never recommends engaging first
gear or reverse, or changing down.
Stop & Start
The Stop & Start function puts the engine temporarily into standby - STOP mode - during
phases when the vehicle is stopped (red lights,
queues, etc.). The engine restarts automatically
- START mode - as soon as the driver wishes to
move off again.
Primarily designed for urban use, the function
is intended to reduce fuel consumption and
exhaust emissions as well as the noise level
when stationary.
The function does not affect the functionalities of
the vehicle, in particular the braking.
Deactivation/Reactivation
The function is activated by default when the
ignition is switched on.
To deactivate/reactivate the function:



► Press the button.A message in the instrument panel confirms the
change of status.
When the function is deactivated, the indicator
lamp is lit; if the engine was in standby, it restarts
immediately.
To allow continuous operation of the air conditioning, deactivate the Stop & Start.
Opening the bonnet
Before doing anything under the bonnet,
deactivate the Stop & Start system to avoid
any risk of injury caused by the engine
restarting automatically.
Driving on flooded roads
Before entering into a flooded area, it is
strongly recommended that you deactivate
the Stop & Start system.

Going into engine STOP
mode
With the vehicle stationary, place the gear lever
in neutral and release the clutch pedal.
This indicator lamp comes on in the instrument panel and the engine goes into
standby.
Automatic engine shutdown is only possible when the speed of the vehicle
has exceeded 6 mph (10 km/h), to avoid
repeated engine shutdowns when driving
slowly.

Never leave the vehicle without first
switching the ignition off with the key.
Never refuel with the engine in STOP
mode; you must switch off the ignition
using the key.
Special cases: STOP mode
not available
STOP mode is not activated when:– the system is initialising,– the driver's door is open,– the driver's seat belt is not fastened,– the air conditioning is on,– the rear screen demisting is on,– the windscreen wipers are on fast wipe,– the reverse gear is engaged for the parking manoeuvre,– some special conditions (battery charge, engine temperature, particle filter regeneration,
braking assistance, exterior temperature, etc.)
where the engine is needed to assure control of
a system.
– during intensive use of Stop & Start, it may be deactivated to conserve starting ability; go
to a PEUGEOT dealer to have the function
reactivated.
This indicator lamp in the instrument panel flashes for a few seconds, then
goes off.
This operation is perfectly normal.
Going into engine START
mode
With a gear engaged, the automatic restarting of the engine is only possible by fully depressing the clutch pedal.This indicator lamp goes off and the engine restarts.
If, after an automatic restart in START mode, the
driver does not perform any action on the vehicle
within 3 minutes, the system stops the engine
permanently. The engine can only be restarted
with the ignition key.
Special cases: START mode
activated automatically
The START mode may be invoked automatically
in the following circumstances:
– the vehicle is free-wheeling on a gradient,– the windscreen wipers are on fast wipe,– the air conditioning is on,– the engine has been stopped for around 3 minutes with Stop & Start,
– some special conditions (battery charge, engine temperature, braking assistance, air
conditioning setting, etc.) where the engine is
needed for control of the system or vehicle.
In this case, a message appears in the
instrument panel screen, accompanied by
this indicator lamp, which flashes for a few
seconds, then goes off.
This operation is perfectly normal.
While in STOP mode with a manual
gearbox, if a gear is engaged without
fully depressing the clutch pedal, restarting
may not take place.
An indicator lamp and/or message is
displayed in the instrument panel asking
you to fully depress the clutch pedal to allow
restarting.
With the engine stopped in STOP mode,
if the driver unfastens their seat belt and
opens a front door, the engine can only be
restarted using the ignition key. There is an
audible signal, accompanied by flashing of this
indicator lamp, and the display of a message.
Malfunction
In the event of a malfunction, the Stop &
Start is deactivated and this warning lamp
comes on, accompanied by a message on the
instrument panel display.
Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop.
In the event of a malfunction in STOP mode, the
engine can be restarted by fully depressing the clutch pedal or putting the gear lever in neutral.
Hill start assist
This system keeps your vehicle briefly stationary
(for approximately 2 seconds) when making a hill
start, while you transfer your foot from the brake
pedal to the accelerator pedal.
This system (also called HHC - Hill Hold Control), integrated with the dynamic stability
control system, is activated in the following
conditions:
– the vehicle must be stationary, engine running, foot on the brake,– the gradient of the road must be steeper than 5%,– uphill, the gearbox must be in neutral or in a gear other than reverse,– downhill, reverse gear must be engaged.
The hill start assist system is a driving
aid. It is not an automatic vehicle parking
function or an automatic parking brake.
Operation

With the brake pedal and clutch pedal pressed,
from the time you release the brake pedal,

6This system (also called HHC - Hill Hold
Control), integrated with the dynamic stability
control system, is activated in the following
conditions:
– the vehicle must be stationary, engine running, foot on the brake,– the gradient of the road must be steeper than 5%,– uphill, the gearbox must be in neutral or in a gear other than reverse,– downhill, reverse gear must be engaged.
The hill start assist system is a driving
aid. It is not an automatic vehicle parking
function or an automatic parking brake.
Operation

With the brake pedal and clutch pedal pressed,
from the time you release the brake pedal,
without using the parking brake, you have
approximately 2 seconds to move off before the
vehicle starts to roll back.
During the moving off phase, the function is
deactivated automatically, gradually releasing
the braking pressure. During this phase, you
may hear the typical mechanical brake release
noise, signalling the imminent movement of the
vehicle.
Do not leave the vehicle while it is being
held temporarily by hill start assist.
If you need to get out of the vehicle with
the engine running, apply the parking brake
manually then ensure that the parking brake
indicator lamp is on.
Hill start assist is deactivated in the following
situations:
– when the clutch pedal is released,– when the parking brake is applied,– when the engine is switched off,– if the engine stalls.
Malfunction
If a malfunction of the system occurs, this
warning lamp lights up, accompanied by
an audible signal and confirmed by a message
on the display. Have the system checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Tyre under-inflation detection
System which automatically checks the
pressures of the tyres while driving.
The system continuously monitors the pressures
of the four tyres, as soon as the vehicle is
moving.
A pressure sensor is located in the valve of each
tyre (except the spare wheel).
The system triggers an alert as soon as it
detects a drop in the inflation pressure of one or
more tyres.
The under-inflation detection system
does not replace the need for vigilance
on the part of the driver.
This system does not avoid the need to
regularly check the tyre pressures (including
the spare wheel) as well as before a long
journey.
Driving with under-inflated tyres, particularly
in adverse conditions (heavy load, high
speed, long journey):
– worsens road-holding,– lengthens braking distances,– causes premature wear of the tyres,– increases fuel consumption.

The inflation pressures defined for the vehicle can be found on the tyre pressure
label.
Tyre pressures should be checked when the
tyres are "cold" (vehicle stopped for 1 hour or
after a journey of less than 6 miles (10 km) at
moderate speeds). Otherwise, add 0.3 bar to
the pressures shown on the label.

The tyre pressure measurement unit can be configured with the MODE button: in
the "Tyre pressure measurement” menu, select
"psi/bar/kPa".

Under-inflation alert
This is signalled by the fixed illumination of this warning lamp, accompanied by an
audible signal and, depending on equipment, the
display of a message.
In the event of an anomaly noted on just one of
the tyres, depending on equipment, the symbol
or the message displayed identifies it.
► Reduce speed immediately , avoid excessive steering movements and avoid sudden braking.► Stop the vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so.
The loss of pressure detected does not
always cause visible bulging of the tyre.
Do not rely on just a visual check.
► Using a compressor , such as the one in the temporary puncture repair kit, check the
pressures of the four tyres when cold.
► If it is not possible to make this check immediately, drive carefully at reduced speed.► In the event of a puncture, use the temporary puncture repair kit or the spare wheel
(depending on equipment).
The alert is kept active until the tyre/tyres concerned is/are reinflated, repaired or
replaced.
Malfunction
The flashing and then fixed illumination of this warning lamp, accompanied by the
illumination of the service warning lamp, and
depending on equipment, the display of a
message, indicates a fault with the system.
In this case, the tyre pressures are no longer
monitored.
This alert is also displayed if at least one wheel is not equipped with a sensor.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop to have the system checked or, following a puncture, to have the original wheel,
equipped with a sensor, refitted.
Pneumatic suspension

If the vehicle is equipped with pneumatic
suspension, it is possible to change the height
of the rear sill, in order to facilitate loading or
unloading.



There is a normal sill level, as well as 3 higher levels (from +1 to +3) and 3 lower levels (from -1 to -3). Each level reached is displayed on the
instrument panel display screen.

Adjusting the platform sill up or down
► A quick press on one of the controls selects the upper or lower level. Each press (diode lit)
increases or decreases by one level.
A long press on one of the controls selects the
maximum corresponding level (-3 or +3).
Returning to the normal sill height
► Press the same number of times in the opposite direction of the displayed position.
Deactivation/Reactivation
► Press and hold both controls simultaneously to deactivate/reactivate the system.
Deactivation is confirmed by the lighting of the
control LEDs.
Beyond a speed of 3 mph (5 km/h), the
system reactivates automatically.
Loading sill height
automatic correction
Beyond a speed of 12 mph (20 km/h), the
system automatically restores the rear sill height
to its normal level.

► Turn ring 1 all the way down. The speed
limiter is selected, but is not yet active.


The display indicates OFF and the last
programmed speed.
Programming a speed
A speed can be programmed without activating
the speed limiter but with the engine running.
To memorise a speed higher than the previous
one:
► Move the control upwards (+).A short press increases the setting by 1 mph
(km/h).
Pressing and holding increases the setting in
steps of 5 mph (km/h).
To memorise a speed lower than the previous
one:
► Move the control downwards (-).A short press decreases the setting by 1 mph
(km/h).
Pressing and holding decreases the setting in
steps of 5 mph (km/h).
Activation/Deactivation
► Press button 2 to activate the speed limiter.

OFF disappears from the display and a message
appears confirming activation.


Pressing again deactivates it, OFF is displayed
again and a message appears confirming
deactivation.
Exceeding the programmed
speed
► Press firmly on the accelerator pedal, going
beyond the point of resistance, to exceed the programmed limit speed.

The speed limiter is deactivated temporarily and
the programmed speed flashes.
To return to the speed limiter function, reduce
your speed below the programmed speed.
On a steep descent or in the event of
sharp acceleration, the speed limiter will
not be able to prevent the vehicle from
exceeding the programmed speed.
Switching the function off
► Place the ring in the central position O or
switch the ignition off to stop the system.
The last programmed speed remains in the
memory.
Malfunction

The programmed speed is cleared, then
replaced by dashes.
Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop.
Fixed speed limiter

If your vehicle is equipped with it, the speed of
your vehicle can be limited in a fixed way to 56
mph (90 km/h) or 62 mph (100 km/h).
A label located in the passenger compartment
indicates this maximum speed.
The fixed speed limiter is not a cruise control
type function. It cannot be activated or
deactivated by the driver during the trip.

The maximum speed is set according to the regulations in force in the country of
sale.
This maximum speed cannot be changed by
the driver.
If you wish to modify this maximum speed,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Cruise control - particular
recommendations
For the safety of everyone, only use the
cruise control where the driving
conditions allow running at a constant speed
and keeping an adequate safety distance.
Remain vigilant when the cruise control
is activated. If you hold one of the speed
setting modification buttons down, a very
rapid change in the speed of your vehicle may
occur.
When descending a steep hill , the cruise
control system cannot prevent the vehicle
from exceeding the set speed. Brake if
necessary to control the speed of your
vehicle.
On steep climbs or when towing, the set
speed may not be reached or maintained.
Exceeding the programmed speed
setting
The speed setting can be exceeded
temporarily by pressing the accelerator
pedal (the programmed speed flashes).
To return to the speed setting, release
the accelerator pedal (when this speed is
reached again, the display of the speed stops
flashing).
Operating limits
Never use the system in the following
situations:
– In an urban area with the risk of pedestrians crossing the road.– In heavy traffic.– On winding or steep roads.– On slippery or flooded roads.– In poor weather conditions.– Driving on a speed circuit.– Driving on a rolling road.– When using snow chains, non-slip covers or studded tyres.
Cruise control
Refer to the General recommendations on the
use of driving and manoeuvring aids and to
Cruise control - particular recommendations.
System which automatically maintains the
speed of the vehicle at the cruise setting programmed by the driver, without using the
accelerator pedal.
To be programmed or activated, the speed of the
vehicle must be above 19 mph (30 km/h), with at
least 2
nd gear engaged.

To be programmed or activated, the speed of the
vehicle must be above 19 mph (30 km/h), with at
least the 2
nd gear engaged.

As a safety measure, you are advised to keep your feet near the pedals at all
times.
Selecting the function - ON
Selecting ON switches the function on. A
message appears in the instrument panel display
to confirm the action.
Programming a speed
► Bring the vehicle up to the desired speed by accelerating, between 2nd and 6th gear engaged.► Move the control upwards (+), for about one second, to memorise it.► Release the pressure on the accelerator pedal; the vehicle will maintain this speed.
The memorised speed is visible in the instrument
panel display.
Changing the programmed
speed during cruise control
► Increase the speed in steps, with short
presses; or continuously by holding the control
upwards (+ sign).
or
► Decrease the speed continuously by holding the control downwards (- sign).
Switching off/deactivation of
the function
► Depress the brake or clutch pedal or turn the ring to the OFF position; the indicator lamp goes
out.
When dynamic stability control is active, the
cruise control function is temporarily deactivated.
Restoring - RES
To restore the vehicle's programmed speed (for
example after depressing the brake or clutch
pedal):
► Gradually return to the chosen speed and press button 3.The indicator lamp comes on; the cruise control function is restored.
Cancelling the programmed
speed
When the vehicle stops, after the ignition is
switched off, the system no longer memorises
any speeds.
Malfunction
In the event of a malfunction, the function
stops and the indicator lamp goes out.
Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop.
Lane Departure Warning
System
Refer to the General recommendations on the
use of driving and manoeuvring aids .
System which detects the involuntary crossing of
longitudinal traffic lane markings on the ground
(solid or broken line).


A camera, fitted in the upper central part of the
windscreen, monitors the road and detects the
lane marking lines and the position of the vehicle
in relation to them.
With the speed of the vehicle above 37 mph (60
km/h), an alarm is triggered if there is a deviation
in direction.
This system is particularly useful on motorways
and main roads.
In case of windscreen damage, it is strongly
recommended to contact a PEUGEOT dealer or
a qualified workshop for any replacement and
calibration of the camera.
Operation
The system starts automatically when moving
off.
A check of the operating conditions takes place: these two indicator
lamps come on in the instrument panel.
When these conditions are met, these two
indicator lamps go off. The system is activated.
If the operating conditions are not met, the
system is activated but is no longer effective.
This is signalled by the fixed illumination of these
two warning lamps in the instrument panel.
Operating conditions
Once engaged, the system is active only when
these operating conditions are met:
– The vehicle is moving forwards.– No malfunction of the vehicle is detected.– The speed of the vehicle is equal to or greater than approximately 37 mph (60 km/h).– The longitudinal marking of the traffic lanes is clearly visible.– The visibility conditions are clear.
– The trajectory is in a straight line (or in the case of bends, they are wide).– The field of vision is sufficiently clear (the safety distance with the vehicle ahead is
respected).
– In the event of a lane departure, the direction indicator corresponding to the direction (right or
left) of the departure has not been operated.

Blind Spot Monitoring
System with trailer
detection
Refer to the General recommendations on the
use of driving and manoeuvring aids .


This system includes sensors, placed on the
sides of the rear bumper, which monitor the blind
spot areas.
It warns the driver of the presence of another
vehicle (car, truck, motorcycle) in the areas
hidden from their field of vision, while driving and reversing.
If a trailer is hitched to the vehicle, the detection
area is enlarged by the length of the trailer.

– Auto: for an automatic detection of the trailer
length (3 m, 6 m or 9 m).
In Auto mode, an icon appears in the instrument
panel indicating the length detected by the
system.
It may be necessary to make a 90° turn
to allow the system to detect the length
of the trailer.
When a trailer is detected, vehicle detection
when reversing is deactivated.
Operating conditions
– All vehicles are moving in the same direction and in adjacent lanes.– The speed of your vehicle is 6 mph (10 km/h) minimum. – When you overtake a vehicle, the speed difference is less than 16 mph (25 km/h).– When another vehicle overtakes you, the speed difference is less than 31 mph (50 km/h).
Active Safety Brake with Distance Alert and
Intelligent emergency
braking assistance

This system:– warns the driver that their vehicle is at risk of collision with the vehicle in front.– reduces the vehicle's speed to avoid a collision or limit its severity.
This system is comprised of three functions:
– Distance Alert.
– Intelligent emergency braking assistance.– Active Safety Brake (automatic emergency braking).

The vehicle has a camera located at the top of
the windscreen.
This system does not avoid the need for
vigilance on the part of the driver.
This system is designed to assist the driver
and improve road safety.
It is the driver's responsibility to continuously
monitor the state of the traffic, observing the
driving regulations.
As soon as the system detects a potential obstacle, it prepares the braking
circuit in case automatic braking is needed.
This may cause a slight noise and a slight
sensation of deceleration.
Deactivation / Activation
By default, the system is automatically activated
at every engine start.
This function can be set using the MODE
button; select “ON” or “OFF” in the “Active
Safety Brake” menu.
For more information on Vehicle
configuration (MODE) , please refer to
the corresponding section.
Deactivation of the system is signalled by
the illumination of this warning lamp,
accompanied by the display of a message.
Operating conditions and
limits
The ESC system must not be faulty.
The DSC/ASR systems must not be deactivated.
All passenger seat belts must be fastened.
Driving at a steady speed on roads with few
bends is required.
In the following cases, deactivating the system via the vehicle's configuration menu is advised:– towing a trailer,– carrying long objects on roof bars or roof rack,– with snow chains fitted,– before using an automatic car wash, with the engine running,– before placing the vehicle on a rolling road in a workshop,– towed vehicle, engine running,– following an impact to the windscreen close to the detection camera.
It is automatically deactivated after
detection of a fault with the brake pedal
switch or with at least two brake lamps.
After an impact, the function automatically stops operating. Contact a
PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop to
have the system checked.
It is possible that warnings are not given,
are given too late or seem unjustified.
The driver must always stay in control of their
vehicle and be prepared to react at any time
to avoid an accident.
Cases of non-detection by the system:
– Pedestrians, cyclists, animals, objects on the road.– Vehicles crossing your lane.– Vehicles driving in the opposite direction.
