Remove t he engi ne undershi eld.
Refer t o: Engi ne Unders hi eld (501-02 Front End Body Panel s ,Removal and Ins tall ati on).
2.
Support the trans mi s si on.
General Equi pment: Trans mi ss i on jack
3.
Remove t he air cleaner as s embly.
Refer t o: Air Cleaner (303-12A Intake Ai r Dis tribut ion and Fil tering -I6 3.2L Pet rol, Removal and Ins t al lat ion).
4.
Remove t he bat t ery t ray.
Refer t o: Bat t ery Tray (414-01 Bat tery, Mount ing and Cables ,Removal and Ins tall ati on).
5.
6. W ARNING: Make sure t hat new nut s arei ns t alled.

Remove t he bracket .
T orque:M12 80 NmM8 25 Nm

Remove t he RH front wheel and t ire.
Refer t o: W heel and Ti re (204-04 W heel s and Tires, Removal andInst all at ion).
3.
Remove t he fender spl as h shi el d extens ion panel.4.

Support the engi ne.
Speci al Tool (s ): 303-1254 5.
Remove t he engi ne cover.
Refer t o: Engi ne Cover - I6 3.2L Pet rol (501-05 Int eri or Trim and
Ornament ati on, Removal and Ins tal lat ion).
6.
Remove t he s tabil izer bar.
Refer t o: Engi ne Upper Support Ins ulat or (303-01A Engine - I6 3.2L
Petrol, Removal and Ins tall ati on).
7. T orque:
M10 45 Nm M12
80 Nm 8.
T orque:
80 Nm 9.

1. W ARNING: Make sure t o s upport the vehicle wit h axles tands .

Remove t he cover and dis connect the bat tery ground cabl e.
Refer t o: Specificati ons (414-00 Bat tery and Charging Sys tem -General Informat ion, Specificati ons).
2.
Drai n t he cool ant .
Refer t o: Cool ing Sys tem Drai ni ng, Fi lli ng and Bleeding (303-03AEngine Cooli ng - I6 3.2L Petrol, General Procedures).

Remove t he acces sory dri ve pul ley.
Refer t o: Acces sory Dri ve Pulley (303-05A Acces s ory Drive - I6 3.2LPetrol, Removal and Ins tall ati on).

5. CAUTION: The O-ri ng s eal i s to be reus edunles s damaged.
Remove t he brake vacuum pump.

Remove t he power s t eering pump support bracket.6.
Releas e t he power s t eering pump and ti e as ide7.

Remove t he acces sory dri ve bel t idl er pull ey.8.
9. CAUTION: The O-ri ng s eal i s to be reus edunles s damaged.
Remove t he cool ant pump inlet pipe.

10. NOTE: Note t he different lengt hs of t he bol ts .
Remove t he ti ming cover.

removed for acces s onl y.
Remove t he gas ket and oil s qui rt jet.

Installation 1. CAUTION: Make s ure that the component al igns wi th the
i ns t allat ion mark.
Inst all t he gas ket and oil s qui rt jet.
T orque: 6 Nm 1.
2. CAUTION: Make s ure that the component is correct ly locat ed
on t he locati ng dowels .
Inst all a new gas ket.

3. CAUTION: Only ti ght en t he bolt s fi nger-t ight at
t his s t age.
Inst all t he bol ts as il lus trated.

component i s cl ean and free of foreign mat eri al .

Take extra care not t o damage t he s eal .
• NOTE: Lubri cat e t he new O-ri ng seal wi th cl ean engine coolant .
Inst all t he cool ant pump inlet pipe.
T orque: 10 Nm 8.
Inst all t he power s t eering pump and support bracket.
T orque: 25 Nm 9.
10. CAUTIONS: A new O-ri ng s eal i s to be ins tal led.
Make s ure that t he component is cl ean, free of foreign
mat eri al and l ubricant.
Inst all t he brake vacuum pump.
T orque: 17 Nm 10.

Inst all t he acces sory dri ve bel t idl er pull ey.
T orque: 25 Nm 11.
