1.CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS
Perform self-diagnosis. Refer to XX-XX, "*****"
or TM-38, "Diagnosis Procedure without CONSULT-III".
Is any malfunction detected by self-diagnostic results?
YES >> Check the malfunctioning system. Refer to XX-XX, "*****" or XX-XX, "*****".
NO >> GO TO 2.
2.CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR
Check accelerator pedal position sensor. Refer to XX-XX, "*****"
(type 1) or XX-XX, "*****" (type 2).
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> Repair or replace accelerator pedal position sensor.
3.CHECK A/T FLUID CONDITION
1. Remove oil pan. Refer to TM-213, "
Component".
2. Check A/T fluid condition. Refer to TM-171, "
Checking A/T Fluid".
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 5.
NG >> GO TO 4.
4.DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
1. Remove control valve assembly. Refer to TM-191, "
Control Valve Assembly and Accumulators".
2. Check the following items:
- Overrun clutch control valve
- Overrun clutch reducing valve
- Overrun clutch solenoid valve
3. Disassemble A/T. Refer to TM-222, "
Disassembly".
4. Check the following items:
- Overrun clutch assembly. Refer to TM-267, "
Forward and Overrun Clutches".
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 6.
NG >> Repair or replace damaged parts.
5.DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
1. Remove control valve assembly. Refer to TM-191, "
Control Valve Assembly and Accumulators".
2. Check the following items:
- Overrun clutch control valve
- Overrun clutch reducing valve
- Overrun clutch solenoid valve
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 6.
NG >> Repair or replace damaged parts.
6.CHECK SYMPTOM
Check again. Refer to TM-183, "
Cruise Test - Part 1".

1.CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION LINE
Perform self-diagnosis. Refer to XX-XX, "*****"
or TM-38, "Diagnosis Procedure without CONSULT-III".
Is a malfunction in CAN communication indicated in the results?
YES >> Check CAN communication line. Refer to XX-XX, "*****" (type 1) or XX-XX, "*****" (type 2).
NO >> GO TO 2.
2.CHECK OVERDRIVE CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUIT
With CONSULT-II
1. Turn ignition switch ON. (Do not start engine)
2. Select “TCM INPUT SIGNALS” in “DATA MONITOR” mode for “A/T” with CONSULT-II.
3. Read out “OVERDRIVE SW”.
Check the signal of the overdrive control switch is indicated properly.
Without CONSULT-II
1. Turn ignition switch ON. (Do not start engine)
2. Check voltage between A/T device harness connector terminal
and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO TM-450, "A/T Does Not Shift: D2→ D3".
NG >> Check overdrive control switch circuit. Refer to XX-XX, "*****"
(type 1) or XX-XX, "*****" (type 2).
A/T Does Not Shift: D3→ 22, When Selector Lever "D" → "2" PositionINFOID:0000000001714362
SYMPTOM:
A/T does not shift from D
3 to 22 when changing selector lever from “D” to “2” position on “Cruise Test

5.CHECK A/T FLUID CONDITION

TCM Self-Diagnosis Does Not ActivateINFOID:0000000001714365
SYMPTOM:
OD OFF indicator lamp does not come on in TCM self-diagnostic procedure even if the lamp circuit is
good.
DESCRIPTION
PNP switch
PNP switch assembly includes a transaxle position switch. The
transaxle position switch detects the selector lever position and
sends a signal to the TCM.
Overdrive control switch
Overdrive control switch detects the switch position (ON or OFF)
and sends a signal to the TCM.

SYSTEM SYMPTOM
Closed throttle position signal and wide open throttle position sig-
nal
ECM judges throttle opening based on a signal from accelerator
pedal position sensor, and sends the signal via CAN communica-
tion to the TCM.
DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
NOTE:
The diagnostic procedure includes inspection for the PNP stitch, overdrive control switch, closed throttle posi-
tion signal and wide open throttle position signal circuit. Refer to TM-115, "
Component Inspection".
