HEATING - VENTILATION(continued)
• Position
For improved efficiency, close the
dashboard air vents.
All the air flow is directed to the
windscreen demisters and the side
window demisters.• Position (Isolation position)
This position prevents any air from
entering (regardless of the position
of controlC). This allows the
passenger compartment to be isolated
from the external environment
(driving through polluted areas, etc.).
Prolonged use of the ISOLATION
position may cause the windows to
mist up.
We recommend that another position
is selected as soon as the polluted area
is left behind.

Passenger compartment ventilation
is by “blown air”. The ventilation

but vehicle speed has a slight effect
on this.
The further the control is positioned
to the right, the more air is blown
into the passenger compartment.
Heated rear screen
With the engine running,
press buttonDand warning lightE
illuminates.
This function ensures the de-icing
and demisting of the rear screen and
the heated external rear view mirrors
(if the vehicle is fitted with them).
The function is stopped:

Isolating the passenger
compartment
ButtonD
Normal operation of the system is
obtained using external air.
The air recycling position allows the
passenger compartment to be isolated
from the external atmosphere (driving
in polluted areas...).
To enter the isolation mode, press
buttonDThis function allows the desired
warmth of the passenger
compartment to be achieved as
quickly as possible.
This button switches the air recycling
system on or off. Warning lightE
illuminates when the function is
operational. In this position, air is
taken from within the passenger
compartment and is recycled without
outside air entering.Prolonged use of the isolation mode
may cause odours due to the air not
being renewed and may cause the
windows to mist up.
Return to normal operation (external
air) by pressing buttonDas soon as
the polluted area is left behind.

AIR CONDITIONING(continued)
Air conditioning controls
ControlFoperates or stops
the air conditioning system.
The air conditioningwill not operate
if controlCis positioned on0.Using the air conditioning system:
• lowers the internal passenger
compartment temperature,
especially in hot weather, when
driving in traffic or when the
vehicle has been parked in the
sun;
• reduces the humidity of the air
blown inside the passenger
compartment (prevents misting).
Fuel consumption increases when
the air conditioning system is being
used. (Switch it off when it is not
required.)Note:the air conditioning may be
used in all conditions, but does not
operate when the external
temperature is low.
•ButtonFnot activated (warning
lightGextinguished)
The air conditioning is not
operational.
Heating and ventilation are
therefore identical to that of a
vehicle without air conditioning.
•ButtonFactivated (warning light
Gilluminated)
The air conditioning is operating.
Air is taken from outside the
vehicle and is constantly
renewed.

AIR CONDITIONING(continued)
In very hot weather, or when the
vehicle has been parked in the sun,
openthedoorsforafewmomentsto
allow the hot air to escape before
starting off.
To lower the temperature of the
passenger compartment as quickly
as possible to the required level, use
the “Isolation of the passenger
compartment” function. Once the
required comfort level has been
reached, turn the recycling function
off.When the air conditioning is
operating, all the windows must be
closed to give the best efficiency.
If there is an operating fault, contact
your Renault Dealer.
No cool air
Check that the controls are correctly
positioned and that the fuses are in
good condition. If not, stop the air
conditioning system (warning
lightGextinguished) and call for
the assistance of a Renault Dealer.
Do not open the refrigerant
circuit. The fluid is
dangerous to the eyes and
skin.
