Body Closures - Rear Door Opening Weatherstrip
Removal and Installation
Removal
• NOTE: Door seals should only be removed when absolutely necessary, as removal may result in damage and the necessity for renewal.
Installation
1. Remove seal from door.
1. Using a trim removal tool, carefully pull seal complete with securing pegs away from lower
section of door.
2. Pull seal from chan nelling at top of door.
2. Clean door uppe r channelling.
1. Apply a suitable lubricant to upper section of seal.
2. Slide upper section of seal into channelling at top of door.
3. Check that seal is correctly positioned, then press and fully
seat the eight securing pegs into door locations.
4. Clean any excess lubricant from external surfaces and check
that door shuts correctly.

1.
Remove the passenger assist handle.
For additional information, refer to: Passenger Assist Handle
(501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and
Installation).
2. Detach the door aperture weatherstrip.
3. Remove the A-pillar trim panel.
Remove and discard the A-pi llar trim panel fir tree
fasteners.
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Install new fir tree fasteners to the A-pillar trim panel.

1. Position front seat and squab fully forward.
2. Remove front seat belt upper and lower anchorages. Refer to
76.73.10.
3. Remove escutcheon from trim pad aperture and seat belt.
4. Remove draught welts from adjace nt door aperture flanges.
5. Using a trim removal tool and exercising care to avoid
damage, remove and discard th e two fir tree fasteners from
bottom of trim.
6. Carefully ease centre of trim pad inwards to release four
spring clips.

7. Pass seat belt and fittings through trim pad aperture.
8. Remove trim pad from vehicle.
1. Position trim pad at B/C post an d pass seat belt and fittings
through aperture.
2. Firmly press centre of trim pad to fully seat spring clips.
3. Ensuring that adjacent dowels are correctly located in B/C
post, fit and full y seat new fir tree fasten ers to secure bottom
of trim pad
4. Fit draught welts to adjacent door aperture flanges.
5. Fit seat belt upper and lower anchorag es. Refer to 76.73.10.
6. Return seat to original position.

1.
Remove draught welt from adjace nt section of door aperture
flange.
2. Remove and discard fir tree fast ener from'A' post lower trim
pad.
3. Pull trim pad rearwards to di sengage clips and remove pad
from lower 'A' post.
1. Position trim pad on 'A' post and press outwards and forward
to engage retaining clips.
2. Fit and fully seat ne w fir tree fastener.
3. Fit draught welt to door aperture flange.
4. Fit and fully seat new fir tree fastener to secure trim pad.
5. Fit draught welt to adjace nt door aperture flange.

1. Remove the passenger assist handle.
For additional information, refer to: Passenger Assist Handle
(501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and
Installation).
2. Detach the rear courtesy/reading light.
3. Remove the rear courtesy/reading light.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Detach the door aperture weatherstrip.
5. Detach the C-pillar trim panel fi r tree fasteners from the BIW.
6. Remove the C-pillar trim pa nel and discard the fir tree
fasteners.

Installation
1.
Remove door casing veneer panel. Refer to 76.47.11.
2. Remove door casing. Refer to 76.34.01.
3. Remove door armrest and remo ve switchpack assembly from
armrest. Refer to 76.34.22.
4. Slacken and remove th ree screws securing door glass lift
switch veneer panel to switchpack.
5. Remove veneer panel from switch assembly.
1. Position veneer panel over swit ch assembly and fit and tighten
securing screws.
2. Position switchpack assembly on armrest and fit and tighten
securing screws.
3. Fit armrest to door casing. Refer to 76.34.22.

Installation
1.
Remove battery cover and disconnect ground cable from battery
terminal. Refer to 86.15.19.
2. Remove door casing. Refer to 76.34.01.
3. Slacken and remove four screws se curing armrest to door casing
and remove armrest from casing.
4. Remove switchpack from armrest.
1. Slacken and remove two screws securing switchpack and finisher to armrest.
2. Remove switchpack and finisher from armrest.
5. Slacken and remove two screws secu ring armrest retaining clip and
remove clip from armrest.
1. Position retaining clip on armrest and fit and tighten securing
screws.
2. Position switchpack and finisher on armrest and fit and tighten
securing screws.
3. Position armrest on casing and fit and tighten four securing screws.
4. Fit casing to door. Refer to 76.34.01.
5. Connect ground cable to battery and fit battery cover. Refer to
86.15.15.

Installation
1. Remove interior door handle escutcheon.
Remove cover from door ha ndle escutcheon securing
screw and slacken and remove screw.
Pull door handle inwards and exercising care to avoid
damaging tweeter, remove escutcheon from casing.
2. Remove veneer panel from casing.
1. Using a thin plastic leve r, carefully ease rear of
veneer panel inwards to release the two rear
securing tangs.
2. Slide veneer panel re arwards to release front
retainers.
1. Position veneer panel on casing and slide forward to engage
front retainers.
2. Using a soft pad or cloth, press re ar of panel firmly to seat the
securing tangs.
3. Fit door handle escutcheon.

1.
Remove door casing for access. Refer to 76.34.01.
2. Remove pocket from door casing.
1. Release puddle lamp harness from clips at base of door pocket.
2. Slacken and remove th e two screws securing
bottom of pocket to casing.
3. Remove two spring clips securing top of pocket to casing.
3. Lift pocket out of casing .
1. Position pocket in casing and secure with screws and spring
clips.
2. Position puddle lamp harn ess in pocket clips.
3. Fit door casing. Refer to 76.34.01.
