INSTRUMENT CLUSTER T I OIL PRESSURE SENSOR 3. If not as specified, replace the oil pressure sensor. OIL PRESSURE SENSOR lnspection 1. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor connector. 2. Measure resistance between the oil pressure sensor and a body ground as shown. SPEEDOMETER CABLE lnspection 1. Disconnect the speedometer cable from the instrument cluster and transmission case. 2. Verify that the cable and gear spin easily when turned by hand. 3. If the cable or gear is stiff, replace as necessary. T WARNING LIGHT AND SENDER UNIT TROUBLESHOOTING Check the METER 15A fuse in the fuse box before troubleshooting. If it is burnt, replace it after checking and repairing the wiring harness. i/ Brake System Warning Light I Symptom: Brake system warning light remains illuminated. 45UOTX-063 Step 1 - Check brake fluid level Check brake fluid level. Check for continuity between the terminal of the switch and ground. Above MIN Go to Step 2 3. If not as specified, adjust or replace the parking brake switch. (Refer to section P.) 4. WARNING LIGHT AND SENDER UNIT T OHMMETER Washer Level Indicator lnspection 1. Disconnect the connector from the washer level sensor. 2. Jump terminal-wire L (harness side) to a body ground. 3. Start the engine and check that the WASHER indicator illuminates. 4. If there is no illumination, check the bulb, wiring harness, and sensor. Replace or repair as necessary. Washer Level Sensor lnspection 1. Connect the sensor connector (sensor side) to an ohm- meter. 2. Move the sensor float up and down. 3. Verify that there is continuity when the float is at the low- est point. BRAKE FLUID LEVEL SENSOR lnspection 1. Check for continuity of the sensor. 2. Check for continuity between terminals 2D and 2F while rotating the speedometer cable. 3. If there are not four pulses per shaft rotation, replace the vehicle speed sensor. (Refer to page T-32.) 4. If there are four pulses per rotation, check the wiring har- ness. (instrument cluster - control unit). 5. If the wiring is OK, replace the cruise control unit. T 2 CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM PRESS 45UOTX-209 Inspection Procedure Quick inspection 1. Connect a 1.4W test light between terminals D and F, of the cruise control unit connector. u Note There is no wire in terminal D of the connector. Push the test light through the connector and touch the cor- responding pin on the control unit. 2. Turn the ignition switch to ON. 3. Shift the selector lever to D or R range. 4. Verify that the MAlN switch is off. (The MAlN indicator light will be off .) 5. Turn the RESUMEIACCEL switch and the MAlN switch simultaneously to activate the system inspection. The MAlN indicator light will come on. 6. Operate each switch as described below and obtain the problem code numbers. Note The cruise control system will not operate in self-diag- nosis mode. 7. After retrieving the code(s), press the MAlN switch to deactivate the system inspection. The MAlN indicator light will go off. 8.
