Prolonged use of this position can
lead to condensation forming on the
side windows and windscreen and
problems due to the use of non-re-
newed air in the passenger com-
partment.
We therefore advise you to return to
normal mode (outside air) as soon
as the air recirculation function is no
longer
required, by turning control D
again.

iThe air flow is distributed be-
tween the air vents, the wind-
screen demisting vents and the foot
wells.
WFor more effective demist-
ing, close the central dash-
board vents and direct the side air
vents towards the side windows.
All the air flow is then directed to the
windscreen demisting vents and the
front side windows.
To obtain maximum efficiency, position

Position 0
The air conditioning is not operating.
In this position, ventilation is the same
as for a vehicle without air condition-
ing.
Ñthe air conditioning is in
normal operating mode.
Air is taken from outside the vehicle,
providing a continuous supply of fresh
air.
if no cold air is produced
Check that the controls are set cor-
rectly and that the fuses are sound. If
not, stop the heating and air condition-
ing
system (control D at 0) and consult
an approved Dealer.Air conditioning controls
Control D switches the air conditioning
on or off.
Switching on is only possible if the air
flow control
C is not at 0.
Using the air conditioning system ena-
bles you to:
–
lowering the temperature inside the
passenger compartment;
–
e l i m i n a t e c o n d e n s a t i o n m o r e
quickly.
In very hot weather or when the vehicle
has been parked in the sun, open the
doors for a few moments to let the hot
air escape before starting the engine.

Prolonged use of the air recirculation
mode may cause the windows to mist
up or lead to odours, as the air is not
renewed.
It is therefore advisable to move con-
t
rol D to normal mode position
Ñ,
as soon as the desired temperature
is reached inside the passenger com-
partment or if isolation of the passen-
ger compartment from the outside is no
longer required.
BThe air conditioning is at max-
imum operation.
In this position, air is taken from the pas-
senger compartment and recirculated
without taking in air from the outside.
When the system is set in this position,
it allows you to lower the temperature
in the passenger compartment more
quickly and to isolate yourself from the
external atmosphere (driving in polluted
areas, etc.).

Air COnDitiOninG: information and advice on use
Fuel consumption
You will normally notice an increase
in fuel consumption (especially
when driving in town) when the air
conditioning is operating. For vehi-
cles fitted with manual air condition-
ing, switch off the system when it is
not required.
Advice for reducing consumption
and therefore helping to preserve
the environment:
Drive with the air vents open and
the windows closed.
If the vehicle has been parked in
the sun, open the doors for a few
moments to let the hot air escape
before starting the engine.
Maintenance
Refer to the Maintenance Service
Booklet for your vehicle for the in-
spection frequency.
Do not open the refriger-
ant fluid circuit. The fluid
may damage eyes or skin.
note
Presence of water under the ve-
hicle. After prolonged use of the air
conditioning system, it is normal for
water to be present under the ve-
hicle. This is caused by condensa-
tion.
Operating faults
As a general rule, contact your ap-
proved Dealer in the event of an op-
erating fault.
–
r eduction in de-icing, demist -
ing or air conditioning perform-
ance. This may be caused by the
passenger compartment filter
cartridge becoming clogged.
–
no cold air is being produced.
Check that the controls are set
correctly and that the fuses are
sound. Otherwise, switch off the
system.
Do not add anything to the
vehicle’s ventilation circuit
(for example, to remove
bad odours).
t h
ere is a risk of damage or of
fire.

Depending on the vehicle, remote un-
locking of the doors triggers timed light-
ing of the passenger compartment. If
one of the front or rear doors is opened,
the period for which the light is switched
on will start again.
Then the courtesy light and the luggage
compartment light dim and go out.
The lighting timer will cut out for vari-
ous reasons:
–
if a door has been open for 15 min -
utes;
–
if all the doors have been closed for
15 seconds:
–
when the ignition is switched on.Courtesy light 5
