Remove the light bulb.
When installing, reverse the steps listed.
■ Front turn signal light
Removing the air cleaner duct and/or moving the washer fluid
filler opening. ( P. 502)
Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.

Remove the light bulb.
When installing, reverse the steps listed.
■ Side turn signal lights
Insert a flathead screwdriver and
release the claw for the outside
rear view mirror cover.
To prevent damaging the vehicle,
wrap the flathead screwdriver
with a tape.
Release the cover claws span-
ning over the entire perimeter.

Release the claw of the bottom
part of the cover and then
remove the cover.
Insert a flathead screwdriver and
remove the lens to the outside.
Remove the socket from the side
turn signal light housing.

Remove the bulb.
Replace the bulb and install the
socket to the side turn signal
light housing.
Align the grooves of the socket to
the side turn signal light housing.
Insert the claw of the lens.
Attach the lens.
Arrange the wire harness on the
back side of the lens.

Insert the claw of the cover.
Attach the claw on the bottom
part of the cover.

Attach the cover claws spanning
over the entire perimeter.
Finally, confirm that the outside
claw is securely fitted.
■ Back-up light/rear fog light, tail light and rear turn signal light
Open the back door and remove
the cover.
Peel back the cushion material.

Disengage the 2 claws and
remove the rear combination
light socket.
Remove the light bulb.
Tail light
Rear turn signal light
Back-up light or rear fog light
Align the tabs and while pushing,
twist and install the bulb.

Rear turn signal light
Back-up light or rear fog light
Check that the wire harness is
attached to the clamp.

Attach the rear combination light
socket.
Check that the claw for the under-
side of the socket is inserted.
Lock the claw of the rear combi-
nation light socket.
Attach the cushion material.
Push the cushion material onto
the pin in the center of the
socket.
Install the cover.
Align the cover claws with the
notches.
Push on the upper and lower
parts of the cover.
Lock the inside of the cover.

■ License plate light
Remove the cover.
Insert a properly sized screw-
driver into the hole of the cover,
and ply off the cover as shown in
the illustration.
To prevent damaging the vehicle,
wrap the screwdriver with a tape.
Remove the light bulb.
Install the new bulb.
Install the cover.
Insert a properly sized screw-
driver into one of the holes, push
the screwdriver until clicking
sound is heard. Repeat for the
other hole.

Make sure that the cover is
secured by pressing on the
entire cover.
■ Lights other than the above
If any of the lights listed below has burnt out, have it replaced by
any authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional.
● Headlights (discharge headlights)
● Front position lights/daytime running lights (discharge head-
lights)
● High mounted stoplight
● Stop lights
