sing a hydraulic press, install hub in vertical link.
1. Position special tool on press bed.
2. Position vertical link on the tool, with the inboard-side downwards.
3. Position hub to bearing.
4. Position a flat steel plate across the face of the hub,
DO NOT place plate ac ross wheel studs.
5. Operate press to install hu b in vertical link, applying
a three-ton seating load to ensure hub fully seats in
wheel bearing.

sing special tool, secure vertical link and hub assembly in a
vise.

ion hub in tool.
Inst

all wheel nuts.

7. i
nstall rotor nut .
1. Install rotor nut on hub.
2. Using special tool tighten rotor nut to 270-330Nm.
8. CAUTION: Do not slacken the rotor nut to engage the
spring clip.
• NOTE: If the castellated slots of the rotor nut are not aligned,

tigh
ten the nut until the spring clip engages in the slots.
Install rotor nut spring-clip.

l spring clip in hub retaining holes and castellated
slots of the rotor nut.

9. Ins t
all disc shield on vertical link.
1. Position disc shield.
2. Install bolts.
10. Install vertical link and hub as sembly on vehicle. Refer to
60.25.38.90.
11. Carry out steering geometry an d wheel alignment checks and
if necessary adjust. Refer to 57.65.01.

1. Raise front of vehicle and support on stands. Refer to Section
100-02.
2. Remove appropriate road wheel. Refer to 74.20.05.
3. Remove brake disc. Refer to 70.10.12.
4. Using wire or string, secure brak e caliper to road spring to take
weight off brake hose.
5. Raise vehicle sufficient to provide access for special tool 204-
111.

7. WARNING: WHEN TURNING TOOL ADJUSTER, ENSURE

THAT TOOL STEM
DOES NOT ROTATE AND DISTURB POSITION
OF DOWEL IN SUSPENSION TURRET.
Engage dowel of special tool 204-111 in suspension turret and
rotate to position across slot.
8. Lower vehicle onto stands.

tate tool adjuster to tension spring.

emove wheel speed sensor se
curing screw and withdraw
sensor from vertical link.

emove nut securing tie rod oute
r ball joint to steering arm.
12. Release ball joint from vertical link.
1. Install special tool 211-098 on tie rod outer ball joint.
2. Tighten tool bolt to rele ase taper pin from vertical
link.

Remove special tool from ball joint and position tie rod for
access.

Remove nut securing upper wish bone ball joint to vertical
link.

CAUTION: Do not use special tool 211-098 in the
following procedure as this will damage the ball joint gaiter.
Release upper wishbone ball joint from vertical link/hub
assembly.
1. Install special tool 204-192 on ball joint.
2. Tighten tool bolt to rele ase ball joint taper pin from
vertical link.

Raise upper wishbone to release ball joint pin from vertical
link.
17. Remove nut securing lower wishbone ball joint to vertical link.

prevent damage to lower ball
joint, secure vertical link to
road spring using strong wire.

19 . CAUTI
ON: Do not use special tool 211-098 in the
following procedure as this will damage the ball joint gaiter.
Release lower wishbone ball joint from vertical link/hub
assembly. 1. Install special tool 204-293 on ball joint.
2. Tighten tool bolt to rele ase ball joint taper pin from
vertical link.

emove special tool 204-293 from ball joint.
21. Clean all suspension to vertical link/hub assembly mating
surfaces.

2. Position vertical link/ hub asse mbly on lower ball joint taper
pin, install securing nut and tighten to 60-80Nm.

3. Install nu
t securing upper ball jo
int to vertical link and tighten
to 60-80Nm.

osition tie rod ball joint taper
pin on steering arm and install
and tighten securing nut to 71-85Nm.

5. Inst
all wheel speed sensor.
Posi

tion wheel speed sensor on vertical link.
Inst

all sensor securing bolt
and tighten to 8-10Nm.
6. Remove wire temporarily securing vertical link to road spring.
7. Install br ake disc.
8. Release tension on road spring.
R
otate adjuster of special tool 204-111 to release spring
tension.

Re
move special tool and adaptor from spring.
9. Install road wheel. Refer to 74.20.05.
10. Raise front of vehicle, remove stands and lower vehicle.
11. Carry out steering geometry an d wheel alignment checks and
if necessary adjust. Refer to 57.65.01.

wishbone.
7. Remove nut securing link arm ba ll joint to stabilizer bar and
remove link arm from vehicle.

all special tool 204-111 in road spring.
