Removal
1. W ARNING: Make sure t o s upport the vehicle wit h axle

Remove t he oil pan.
Refer t o: Oil Pan (303-01B Engi ne - TD4 2.2L Dies el , Removal and
Inst all at ion).
2. 3. CAUTION: Not e the fi tt ed posi ti on of the
component pri or to removal.
• NOTE: The s houl dered bolt i n pos it ion 1 l ocat es the
oil pump.

Installation 1.
CAUTIONS: Make s ure that t he mat ing faces are clean and
free of foreign mat eri al. Make s ure that t hes e component s are ins tal led t o
t he noted removal pos it ion.
• NOTE: The s houl dered bolt i n pos it ion 1 l ocat es the
oil pump.
Tight en the bol ts evenly i n 2 s t ages to t he s equence
s hown.
T orque: 7 Nm 9 Nm1.
Inst all t he oil pan.
Refer t o: Oil Pan (303-01B Engi ne - TD4 2.2L Dies el , Removal and
Inst all at ion).

Di sconnect t he bat t ery ground cable.
Refer t o: Specificati ons (414-00 Bat tery and Charging Sys tem -General Informat ion, Specificati ons).

Drai n t he cool ant .

Remove t he air condi ti oni ng (A/C) compres sor.
Refer t o: Air Condi ti oning (A/C) Compres s or - TD4 2.2L Di esel(412-01 Cli mate Cont rol , Removal and Ins t allat ion).
4.
Remove t he thrott le body.
Refer t o: Thrott le Body (303-04B Fuel Chargi ng and Controls - TD42.2L Dies el , Removal and Inst all at ion).

Di sconnect t he engi ne oil pres s ure (EOP) s ens orelectrical connect or.6.

CAUTIONS: Be prepared t o collect es caping flui ds .
Di s card the seal.
T orque: 20 Nm 9.
10. CAUTION: Dis card the s eal.

clean and free of foreign materi al. Di s card the seal.
T orque: 25 Nm 3.

Support the trans mi s si on.
General Equi pment: Trans mi ss i on jack 3.
Remove t he air cleaner as s embly.
Refer t o: Air Cleaner (303-12A Intake Ai r Dis tribut ion and Fil tering -
I6 3.2L Pet rol, Removal and Ins t al lat ion).

Remove t he bat t ery t ray.
Refer t o: Bat t ery Tray (414-01 Bat tery, Mount ing and Cables ,
Removal and Ins tall ati on).

i ns t alled.
• NOTE: Vehicles wi th aut omat ic t rans mis s ion have a
breat her pi pe att ached t o t he mounti ng.
Remove t he bracket .
T orque: M12 80 Nm M8
25 Nm 6.
Remove t he engi ne mount LH.
T orque: 175 Nm 7.
